I have a draco bumper which is build out of aluminum. Because of this the gps signal has decreased and i would like to know where the position of the gps reciever is. So that i can drill a hole at that place to increase the signal.
So if anyone could point me to it it would be a great help

I was tired of my gps not working with the dreaded spinning circle so i decided to to try to fix it on the cheap. Take a little piece of aluminum foil and jam it between the 2 gold conductors on the right side of your bolt when the bolt is upside down looking from the back. This helps conductivity between the actual gps and foil amtenna on your battery cover. It now takes me 4secs to get gps lock with 10 satellites with gps test from the market. Hopes this helps you too!
FYI the other gold conductors on the top are for the antenna for 3g and lte...

Can you take a picture of what you've done? Curious to see it, and this could probably be improved upon as a 'hardware hack' to improve reception and gps...
Also, grab the speedtest.net app, and do a few trials with and without. Does it make your data go faster?
It ain't pretty but it works for me...
Haha, slick!
The foil on the left in that picture might not be doing anything, as its about the same size and shape as the foil that's built into the cover (painted black). Nice work though, I'll try this out myself and see what happens.
Do any speed tests?
Tried this mod and walked outside and still **** gps.. can't even get a lock lol.
Try something better than foil, aluminum is not an ideal conductor....You know those $.99 stick on gold foil cell booster things? I wonder if one of those, modded to contact the contacts on the case, would make a difference.
...
If you want to get quicker GPS locks I suggest the steps in the following post.
http://forum.androidcentral.com/801754-post32.html
Also I haven't experienced the slow GPS lock time in newer roms.

Sorry for the bad English. I've improved the strength of the GPS signal.
I've added the CU foil to contact GPS
Nice work :good: but a tutorial explaining or a video should make others (like me ) understand better i think

i mean to make something like a more powerful antenna for the wifi to improve range and wifi speed
Step by step
So if I understand this correctly:
You opened up the phone using step 3+4 of the ifixit guide (I can't post a link because I don't have enough posts).
Added a little piece of paper to the plastic shell which should push down on the radio giving it a better connection to the logic board.
Soldered on some copper foil to the GPS antenna to extend range.
You then put the inner plastic shell back on and threaded the CU foil through the black plastic radio cover.
Please let me know if I missed a step or have some thing wrong before I try this myself.
Thanks!

I used the aluminium cover of a yogurt... And it works Thanks a lot
I bought Cu foil, very nice quality and use it, about 7cm x 0,5cm, but not much help. I notice better signal when i use foil large as much as my phone. If the foil is small, no visible improvement. How much Al from yogurt did you use?
I used aluminium foil and signal is little bit better. GPS in phone is finally usable for navigation.
But I must say, with that "big antena" I expected bigger improvement in signal.

I also used aluminum foil and it just gives a little boost to GPS signal, will try what ivica122 said and use a larger foil and see if it will give better result

It's a bit dangerous.
If you don't understand it, you shouldn't do it.
And remember, if you do it, you are responsible for any damage, no one else.

i used aluminium foil without add the paper piece and the gps signal improve a lot
Nice, I would like to try it
I soldered a copper strand to the antenna to basically increase the size of the antenna.
Worked for me way better than this solution, but thank you for giving me the idea to fix the bad gps signal.
So basicly I have this dot on my screen, that I can't get cleaned and I don't know what to do further.... I added some photos because I really can't explain it very well.
It's really weird, I can't get it off and I have no idea what it could be. the photos arent the best, because I couldn't get the focus right on the dot. Please help me

Can't see it well enough but chances are it's a bubble in the OCA (the glue that keeps the glass together)
becoming a common problem, seen a lot of people complaining about it

Had the same problem with my regular S6. It was near my front facing speaker.
I noticed it 5 days after buying. Went to the store and they exchanged it for me.

Hi,
I've just noticed that sound only appears to be coming out of one of the grills in the bottom of the phone. If I cover up the left grill with my finger I get no sound, while covering up the right makes no difference. Can someone confirm with me that sound should be coming out of both grills? Luckily I bought the phone from Amazon so if it is a fault it should be an easy return
It's normal. The second grill is where the microphone is. The stereo speakers are in the same grill (the left one). It's weird but it has been designed that way[emoji14]

Thank you for this thread, I noticed same "problem" and thought I was going to have to send the phone back for replacement.
Although I must say this is a very weird way to design "stereo" speakers...
Shouldn't stereo speakers not be so close to one another? It sounds exactly like one single speaker or 2 speakers in mono...
Dear all,
during sport, one of the buttons is repeatedly pressed unintentionally that recording is stopped.
Is there a solution that the screen can be locked through an other method?
Regards,
Martin
Good topic! I have the same problem.
But also no solution...
