I own my galaxy s3 for about 2 years. The Problem is, that i have serious screen burn in. I alway See a shadow of my keyboard when displaying a white image. Is there any way to fix this? I know that amoleds have this Problem, but i did not expect that after only two years

I'm having the same issue. Would love to know how to solve this. Although I think the only solution is replacing the screen.
2 years? It can happen in a couple of days if you leave a static image on the screen.
I read a while back that this might work but don't quote me on that. Also, I'm not responsible if anything bad happens.
Try putting your phone on max brightness, displaying a completely white picture and leave it like that overnight. Plug in the charger and keep the display from dimming and turning off.

Okay i think ill try it. How much is it, if i replace the screen? Would you recommend to replace the screen or just wait a bit and buy a New phone?

New screen is 1/2 the price of the whole handset.

Too Bad Do other Phones with amoled technology like s4,s5 have this Problem too? In other words: Will all amoled displays in the future get burn ins after a while or is it possible to reduce this effect?

Hello All;
First of all happy new year to all of you.
I have my SGS2 for two months coming from blackberry and even though the first week was hard I am happy with my choice.
The question: When I am on a white or clear screen I have noticed ghost images of the widgets that I have on my home screen. When I dock my phone to the pc I leave the screen always on and at 100% brightness. Could this be the cause of the ghost images, is it not good to leave it this way?
Is there a way to fix it or I need to replace my phone?
Thanks for the feed back;
First of all I don't think you should leave the screen brightness on 100% for too long, it drains battery and I guess it does wear out the screen itself a bit.
You should try clearing all your widgets and reboot it. See if the problem still persists.
You can also try using a different launcher and check if you have the same results...just to make sure if it is a hardware problem or not.
In the end don't worry as Samsung offers solid warranties on its products in case you need to take it to repairs.
Thanks for the replay. I just did what you proposed and the problem persist. For what I read there is no fix for a burn in, am I right...
The only fix is a screen replacement. But the screen itself already costs about quarter as much as the phone retail. xD
this is what we call burn in of an oled screen

I have noticed some horizontal lines running through the screen on my S2 when light images are displayed. (Also shows on green test screen quite clearly)
They are light bands about 1mm wide and running across my screen at various points.
There is also slight burn in of my status bar, you can see battery and clock if you look hard.
Just wondering if this is a normal occurrence and something to put up with or if it's worth me getting it replaced under warranty.
If I return it and then in 4 months time the same happens it's pointless. Also I would hate to return the phone for screen replacement and then get another screen with maybe a dead pixel or something.
Any help is very much appreciated.
Thank you
can no one help......?

Send it to repair centre, it's definitely a faulty unit.
Your repaired/replaced phone will not have repeated issues.
My phone is a year already, and everything is still prefect

Hi Guys, I have screen burn problems again with my S3, had the same issue on S2 also.
I use Sygic sat nav software 4-5 hours a day 5-6 days a week, and I now have a nice circle in the top corner of my screen where the speed limit is.
I am running an app called Screen burn-in tool which was recommended when i searched online, its been running now for about half hour but i don't think it will help at all, but its worth a try.
Does anyone know if screen burn is covered under manufacturers warranty or not?
also while running the app i can now tell that the status bar is also burnt into the screen, how very annoying after having this phone for a little over a month....:crying:

i would not think that Samsung will take it back since it is not a manufacturing defect, you could try.

Does samsung specifically state not to have static images on the screen? If so, then yes, it is not a manufacturer defect. However, if there is no mention of it, you could possibly argue that there was no forewarning of the possibility of screen burn.
Good luck, keep us updated!
I own Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100. The problem is that screen al of the sudden got very bright and dark lines appeared. Screen works without any issues and sometimes problem disappears. I tried to disassemble the phone and reconnect the display, but that didn't fix it.
Do you have any tips on how to solve this issue?
If it is permanent damage, maybe you can give me some tips on where to buy and how to change the display. How much is it going to cost?
Sorry to tell you this but it sounds like your screen needs to be replaced. If it wasn't for the dark lines it could be a software issue but his isn't the case.

Hey everyone!
Few months ago I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 (international, GT-i9300) and I noticed a small issue with the display/screen.
A row of semi-transparent icons appear on the screen for as long as it's ON. I don't know if anyone else experienced this issue, to help me out, but it is annoying, wherever I go, whatever I do, those icons remain on the screen, semi-transparent.
Whenever I take a screenshot and send it to my PC, the icons do not appear on the screenshot. I would love to know what this issue is and if there is a possible way to fix it.
I would upload an example how it looks but due to my low post count I am unable to add external picture links.
Use the search facility, this has been asked before.
It's the OLED showing screen burn, like tube TV's used to. There is no cure.
