Hello guys,
I'm quite new here and to Android and that's probably what's causing my difficulty of finding a solution for my problem, so I'm hoping you guys can help me.
So all started a few months ago, when my brother decided to give me his 2 year S2, I was quite satisfied because it's in great condition. After a few months of using it I decided to go on and try some roms dor the sake of my boredom of Samsung's rom and for my will to discover. The rom I tried was Slimkat, it worked pretty good and it's awesome to customize but it was killing ny battery in 8 hours with medium to low use, it was kinda crazy... So I decided to roll back and restore the stock rom, I was successful and it's the one I still have at the moment, but the battery problem remains... I've tried two different batteries and it's always the same and I've run out of solutions that I know.
tl;dr - my battery was fine before I started to play around with roms and after I restored the stock rom the problem remained. The battery itself isn't the problem because I've tried two others.
So I hope you can help me, if you need any other information, I'll be glad to add it.
Regards and thanks in advance
BetterBatteryStats; find the thread devoted to it on here & install it (or get it from Google Play), let it run for a day/whatever, and post the BBS logs to the BBS thread - people who post their regularly should be able to help you track down what's causing drain. You could post them to this thread, but with such little traffic in Q&A these days, you could be waiting a fair while for meaningful help (I.E help that's actually useful Vs people who don't know what they're talking about).

Hello,
I'm new to android and new to rooting/roms, but I've developed a bit of knowledge in a short time, so please bear with me. I am currently running Das Bamf Remix 1.6 with stock Kernal. It should be noted that I did a full Davlik/Data cahce wipe and reset battery stats prior to flashing. It has been running great and battery life has been good for a week. Two days ago out of the blue my gmail temporarily wouldn't sync (it showed I had mail but wouldn't display the message), but withing 5 minutes I was able to get it to work again and havn't had the problem since. Then this morning I woke up to find that the phone rebooted itself in sleep mode during the night while I was sleeping. Does anybody know why these things happened?, other than those two incidents, the phone has been perfect. Thanks in advance for your help!
Phone will ocasionally reboot out of no where. Some times its few and far between, other people tweak their phone to where its instable and it reboots daily. If its once a week, your good.
I have seen that bug with gmail too. Dont know what causes it, or what clears it. I usually reboot and it goes. But it will also clear in time.
Thanks for the info. What have you found to be the best battery kernal for das bamf?, the included kernal or is there something else you recommend?
every phone is going to like kernels different, just pick one to test, see if battery life goes up or down after a few days. Then try another... keep going to you find one YOU like the best.
Im still rocking one of Imosyn's old kernels. Its doing great for me so I just havent bothered upgrading. I just hit a new record of 65 hrs this weekend on a single charge but that was extremely light usage.
What Imosyn Kernal version are you using on the Thunderbolt?, or are you on a different phone?. I just want to use the one that most people are having success with, have you heard what is the most popular for TB?, because when I google, I get a million different answers.

O.O crazyyyy
use one of the 3 big dogs, imoseyon, ardynalyne, or ziggys (from his web site)
from there you need to decide if you want overclocked or under volted. that will narrow it down to a handfull. From there you will have to test what works best on your phone. No one can tell you what will work best on your phone.
the one im using from imoseyon you wont find anywhere, and i wont give it out. He doesnt support it anymore so no sense in worrying about it.
Thanks, I can sense what kernal your using...
Hello,
I'd like to share some doubts about this rom, and get the anwsers if its possible. I know this should probably go on the rom's thread but I cant post on developing yet. Yesterday I installed XWLS8 on my phone but the result was definitely bad; I had huge battery drains and what I thought it was a media bug, media was consuming more than screen. I tried fixing some stuff by freezing what I thoght it was making this drain, but it didnt make it any better. Also read some things about compiling something that Google wrote on some code for 4.2, but that was dangerous for now, as Im completely noob.
Then I looked for near stock roms, and found NeatRom. I thought it was a good option. Flashed but same thing happened with media, I started thinking my phone had something wrong or that I dindnt flash correctly. Is this possible? I had this same media thing happening on both roms + overheating.
Hours later I was decided to apply my backup and go back to stock ics as what Im looking for is battery legth not extreme customization. But surprisingly NeatRom is not consuming that much; in fact it seems to go pretty well. Can it happen? Could it have stabilised or something similiar?Media has just consumed about 2% wich I consider normal.
Some more stuff I'd like to know: In the rom's thread theres posted a zip file with a fix for media scanner by Mr. Greg but its for the leaked rom. As theyre quite similirar I think, should I apply it?should I wait to see if I dont have any more problems with media stuff?
Finally, Id like to know if there's a kernel that consumes less battery on this rom, I've been considering dorimanx or siyah but I prefer waiting for someone who knows advice.
Thank you very much and sorry for wasting your time.
Hey guys. I have been using this site for a while and have just made a new account. I look forward to some helpful chaps
PHONE: GALAXY ACE GT-S5830
I have installed 4 different types of Cyanogenmod (CM 10.1 Pro, etc.) and have found a problem. Even after battery calibration (thank google play ) i have always received severe battery drain. Eg. I would leave my phone on charge overnight. In the morning I would wake up and I could basically watch it go down like a timer. About 2 minutes after unplugging the phone it would have gone down to 81%, even without using the phone!
I know this isn't the ROM's fault since it has happened on numerous ROM's, as I said.
Also, after it reaches about 20% it sometimes slows down the drainage.
I don't get this problem on the stock ROM. I really want to use the stock ROM and UI (TW) cause its got many features, but wanna keep Jellybean cause of BBM for Android coming out soon. If there is any type of ROM which looks just like the original Stock ROM for SGA but with JB installed, could someone please point me in the right direction for it?
Many Regards & looking forward to a ahppy community, HelloMrBrandon. :highfive:
Update: BTW I know I shouldn't post Q&A here. But I couldn't find the right spot for them. Sooooorrryyyyy!
PING!
Hey guys, I have a Canadian Glalaxy S4 SGH-M919V from Wind Mobile. On 4.2.2. Since I bought the phone, the battery was dying pretty quick, with the new updates to 4.1... and now 4.2.2, the battery dies much quicker and performance is just awful, the phone freezes a lot, won't unlock for a minute or so after freezing. The developers have promised the battery fix with each new update, but they keep making it worst and slower with no promised battery fix, and this is not how S4 should work, the system is powerful enough to run quick without freezing and battery should last long, but after using it for 1 hour a day, I have to charge it every night.
-So my question is, which custom rom is the fastest and has a good battery life for M919V. I would like to have all features still working, wifi tethering.... -Also would I have to flash modem to fix any problems like 4G not working when calling and when screen is locked? What is the best Lerner for my phone and what do I need to do/install to have everything working without any problems. Thanks guys, waiting on your replies. Tired of my S4 being slow and dying quick... :crying:
Bump
This section is for Android Wear. Your question got nothing to do with Android Wear. So please go and post to thread specific for your device and not here!!
No need to be rude. The forum is confusing with all these sections. If you want to sound nice, you should say next time: "wrong section for questions, here _____ is where you should ask this, Good luck"
Next time please show some respect to new members
Didn't mean to be so rude. It's just that is not related to your device anyway and maby none of people reading this topic don't even own device you are talking about. Top if this page has input field that says "Type To Find Your Device...". Try putting your model number there to find right thread (I would do that for you but it's not so good to find it now since I'm typing from my phone). Best luck
It's all good I found the the right section, it was just a little confusing lol
I am running Android 6.0 Marshmallow on my Nexus 9 build number MRA58N. Device is not rooted but the bootloader has been unlocked and I am running everything on stock. Clean fresh install about 5 days ago. I did face some trouble trying to root my tablet at first (boot loop) but instead I formatted and just reflashed the firmware clean using (flash-all).
First few days, performance was below average, lag here and there but it was acceptable and it did go away after a day or so. Could be the tablet adjusting and syncing with the recently installed apps.
What I did find unusual though was the battery stats. It showed numbers (99013, 99023, 99033) processes which I am unfamiliar of. I tried googling it and searching on the xda forums about this but have not found any post on this. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is something wrong with my device? It could be the culprit to the overheating and battery drain.
(still trying to find out how to upload the screenshot, if anyone could help out with this, it would be much appreciated. PS: xda says that I have to make at least 10 posts before I can share external links, so I don't know how to make imageshack work here. Or I'll just make the 10 posts somehow.)

I've seen those numbers before, however not sure what they are either.
What type of battery are you seeing.
When I was on stock mra58n I was seeing around 4-5 hours screen on time and about 4-5 days overall time on. I thought that was pretty good. I only lose about 1-3% overnight so I could let it sit for quite awhile untouched and still have a charge.
I am now on PureNexus Android 6.0 ROM and seeing about the same but slightly better battery. I'm seeing 5.5-6 hours screen on time and 6-7 days overall time on.
This is with ElementalX kernel which I highly suggest.
How long have you had the tablet? I just got it on the HTC 40% of sale.
I recently have been having the same problem, as seen here: imgur DOTCOM /a/IMqFW, you can see the "99006" active, right now another has appeared with "99040". I saw these number a week or two ago. I've had my tablet since may or so. I posted on the reddit r/Nexus9 for help, someone suggested that it might be some sort of old application which left a few things behind when it was removed from the device. I don't really know what to think of this.
Hi,
I also observed a drastic battery drain and going to the "battery" section in settings, i found a weird "99040" thing with a black android robot icon, draining 16% of my battery.
I don't know how to remove this and I suspect this is malware or something related.
Does anyone know how I can remove that sh**** ???
Best regards.
