You need Debugging drivers.
Go to Google, search Samsung USB Drivers, download and install them.
This will solve your problem.
Press Thanks if helped.

USB connections acting very weird.

So my USB connection was fine just the other day.. now its not.
When I connect it to a computer or charger, mtp connected shows up. It only shows up when plugged into the computer, or when the battery is 100% on charger.
When I connect sometimes USB connected briefly comes up but never long enough for me to mount
I have checked the USB debugging mark but it doesn't change anything.
What can I do? It was working on the same firmware the other day...
Please help!
It now says mtp connected, but the computer doesn't recognize it. What is mtp and what can I do?

Tried that. No luck!!!

Bump

Try updating .net framework on your pc.
Also, manually point your device manager to install USB driver for samsung.
ADB should help you get the right drivers.

I'm on a Mac so it shouldn't be a problem, because Macs don't need drivers right?

Have you ticked USB debugging off rebooted phone and ticked it back on again? MTP isn't supposed to be on if USB debugging is.

[Q] GS3 not getting connected to the pc (xp)

Hello everyone
well... first of all i am not new to android , i have tried all the tricks in the book to get my galaxy s 3 connected to my pc , in mass storage mode.. but all my efforts have resulted in failures . i can use the usb teetering but surprisingly i can not get it to mass storage mode..
1)i have installed the required drivers
2)i have also installed kies ( it keeps saying connecting forever)
3) i wipe the cache in recovery and tried but still no luck
4) rebooted the pc many times but no use
5)the usb debugging is unticked
next i m going to root my device and then use a 3rd party sd mount app, but is there any other option you people could suggest me to try ???
Turn off USB Debugging .
Turn off phone .
Install latest Kies .
Reboot computer .
Power on phone and connect using Samsung USB cable to a main board USB port ..
Let windows find the USB drivers .
Then start KIES .
Other choice is to remove all USB drivers from the port you are using .

from everything i have read so far about the phone the S3 doesnt support usb mass storage mode out of the box. but there is an app that you can download from the themes and app section that will let you connect your phone to the pc in mass storage mode.

thanks for your reply friend,
but after researching a lot i found a few solutions...
here is one
install kies, and after installing kies also install this exe (Microsoft_User-Mode_Driver_Framework_Install-v1.0-WinXP)
this solution helped many people connect their devices.. but i still couldnt connect it
then finally i had to use my friends laptop with win 7 .. and it was connected
I am guessing you run quite an old version of XP... on my friends pc, the phone was recognised but I couldn't transfer files,
Mpf mode isn't supported on old xp versions, you gotta get yourself the driver

[Q] Phone not getting detected in Odin

I'm currently running CM 10.1 Android 4.2.2 JDQ39E build. I wanted to install the Samsung leaked 4.2.2 firmware, but strangely my phone is not getting detected in Odin any more.
Things i tried:
1. Update Samsung USB drivers.
2. Changed USB cable.
3. Changed USB port.
4. Tried using MTP/PTP modes.
Nothing worked . Strange thing is that my phone is displaying on Windows explorer and I am able to transfer files to it.
Kindly let me know what to do to fix this.

Yes, original Samsung USB cable. I'm doubting whether the new RSA key prompt which came in 4.2.2 is the reason for this. But that prompt is not coming up even while I disable and enable debugging mode.
wipe everything from recovery mode. once again check for usb debugging option. then reboot into download mode and connect to pc.
note: stop kies if running as a background process.

/QUOTE]
If you have updated using windows update then uninstall the drivers. Then turn off the internet connection and then install and let windows search 'preconfigured folders' and then every time it tries to update don't allow. And download that specific version of drivers that for or device. Download different versions.. One of them should work.
Apart from that, in cm10.1 you have enabled USB debugging right?

[Q] Win 7 not recognizing s2.....? (Only works in mass storage mode)

Win 7 will not recognize my s2 device. Win 7 only sees the phone in mass storage mode. I have tried the usual solutions such as uninstalling the USB drivers and selecting and deselecting the PDA and Modem options in the USB dialog box on the phone. Also re-installed the Samsung drivers as well

You will know if its installed properly if your device shows up in device manager in your computers properties. As well as showing up in devices if you do ADB Devices.
Yes, of course...

The drivers won't install. Tried all sorts of drivers, the pc detects it as mtp but then fails to install a driver for the slider.
Thanks
