Now i decided to unroot it and it every tutorial i found , said to flash the stock rom in the end.

Trying to get back to completely stock

I'm trying to get back to completely stock before return the Note. These are the steps I found in another thread. I was coming from the UCLF leak but the baseband is still showing UCLF.
1) Flash stock odin through Odin
2) Flash CWM Recovery through Odin
3) Flash AT&T Reset Flash Counter Zip through CWM Recovery
4) root without tripping the flash counter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1518962
5) unroot without tripping the flash counter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=133
After doing this, I thought everything looks stock until I noticed that the baseband was still on UCLF5. Did I flash the wrong stock odin?

[Q] Help did i reset the download counter?!

Bascially got my galaxy S2 I9100 a few weeks ago , i am pretty familiar with android and know my way about , so the first thing i did was root stock ROM with Cf Root then the second thing i did was flash the Siyah Kernel via odin then dual booted a few roms such as RR or Paranoid Android. As the Siyah kernel enables dual boot i kept my stock 4.0.3 but replaced the launcher with the touchwhiz ux launcher found on the galaxy s3. Since i have flashed various roms and also removed them ect. I have been seeing on XDA that alot of people sent their galaxy s2 to warranty and it didnt get fixed as the "download counter" showed that custom software had been obtained and flashed within the device & that one way to fix it was by downloading well known developer chainfires "Triangle Away" apk in order to remove the triangle at boot as well as reseting the download counter to 0. i am just confused as this is what i done get.
-Say i send my device for warranty and i have restored stock ics GS2 rom kernel and so on will they be able to tell without me using chainfires
"triangle away app?"
-If somehow i encounter a "softbrick" or "hardbrick" could i just buy a usb jig enter download mode, plug it in, restore counter to 0 then flash stock ics & kernel for GS2 via odin & get it fixed free by warranty?
thank alot

u could just root ur phone, install triangle away, run it, and all set.
uninstall any app that indicates that ur phone is rooted and there. also u could flash an unrooted kernel too.
when i had to live my phone at service i did this:
-used triangle away
-factory resets
-wipe dalvik and cache
-flashed via ODIN stock ICS rom
-give it to service!

He simple said:
When you are on a custom rom or rooted rom, use triangle away to reset the counter.
Then do a factory reset and wipe cache/dalvik cache by using custom recovery mode. (you are still rooted)
Then flash an official stock kernel via odin (it will not increase the counter)
The counter will say no and binary official and you have unrooted new firmware
with no way to know you messed around with it. Warranty reclaimed!!

Yes the flash counter rises when you flash via recovery you can use a custom kernel and the tringle away app from chainfire will reset your flash counter after you have flashed a rom. Simply after you flashed a rom install a custom kernel and then use the tringle away apk to get rid of the flash counter..
You can also get rid of your flash counter by using odin to flash your stock rom back..

WOW! That was completely inaccurate! No! Flashing in recovery does NOT increase your binary counter! Flashing via MobileODIN does NOT increase your binary counter! Only flashing non-stock builds via PC ODIN will increase your counter. Furthermore, if you have tripped your counter, going back to stock will NOT reset it. The only way you can currently reset a counter is with Triangle Away.
So anyway, just don't flash custom ROMs from PC ODIN, and you won't trip your counter. Flashing from recovery is fine!

If your counter is tripping everytime you use recovery to flash, either you're doing something wrong or your handset is frakked! Either way, the information you posted was grossly inaccurate. Good day!

Completely inaccurate.
Flashing via Odin will raise your flash counter, mobile Odin doesn't and neither does cwm.
Flashing to stock via Odin will NOT revert your flash counter to 0, it will only remove the modified status from system info under settings.
Triangle away will revert the flash counter to 0.

The 1 is there from when you flashed a custom kernel via Odin/cf root via Odin.
If cwm was tripping it every time it wouldn't be at 1, it would increase.
Edit: I just realised everything I said has already been said. Either way it still stands.

Wow you sounded so sure of yourself it almost made me believe you. I was thinking why do i bother using Triangle away when I could just flash stock rom lol
Anyways what the rest say is true. The only real time your counter will increase if when you first flash a recovery or rom via Odin on pc. After that if you stick to using CWM it will remain the same, wether that be on ZERO or anything else. Triangle away will reset that for you
So how dangerous is Triangle Away
Okay, thank for everyone of you, but how dangerous it is to use triangle away. I got it in my phone but haven't used it yet.

[Q]Triangle Away

Hello guys,
I have a question about triangle away by chainfire.
I have a galaxy-i9300 international version.
i've been used in UltimaRom and i wanted to reset my flash counter and to get back to samsung offical rom.
i did it and everything worked as it should.
and now i'm on sumsung offical rom but i want to root my phone without increase my flash counter,
i want to try to root it and then use the triangle away to reset the counter,
so my question Is : if i root my phone and then use triangle away to reset the counter, should i have to flash again the rom ?(and as result the root will be deleted) or i can root my phone and use triangle away without flash again the rom via odin ?
You can flash stock with Odin and then flash cf auto root, run triangle away and your flash counter will be 0 and you will be rooted still. But make sure you have stock kernel and recovery
If need be you can always go to the super su app and unroot then run a factory reset to go completely 100% stock with 0 flash counts and official phone status
Hope this helps

Thank you very much , but i have another question , now after i rooted my phone and reset the flash counter, it says that i have:
SYSTEM STATUS : Custom.
can i change it to offical without unroot my phone ?
Use triangle away to allow tracker to run mate that should fix it... If not when you do a factory reset it will change to normal/official
You will still have root after a factory reset as well

You need to have stock recovery and stock kernel for the counter to stay at 0
And for the factory reset its in recovery (stock or custom)
Here's how I did it:
1- flash stock ROM with Odin.
2- flash CF-Auto root with Odin.
3- run triangle away to reset flash counter.
4- turn phone off and enter recovery (volume+, home key and power button).
5- select factory reset
6- reboot

[Q] Reset Flash Counter

I have Rooted my Galaxy S 3 GT-I9300 . now I want to unroot it and reset the flash counter
I have tried to do that ( 3 times ) Using Triangle away :
1- I've got into Triangle away Hit Reset flash counter in Triangle away.
2- after restarting my device I got into SuperSU > Settings > Full Unroot.
3- Restarted my device , now there is no Root access.
but when I get into Odin mode ( Binary Counter : Custom (Yes : 3) )
is there any way to reset Binary Counter ?
Thank you .
You must have the original Kernel and Recovery to reset the binary counter.

Stock not original .
Flash back to stock and root
i made this mistake before.
First lets say you are rooted running Cm11 ok.
what we have to do now is go to your pc and flash back to stock 4.3
then you root it again
install triangle away and reset it
then you reflash your s3 back to stock and it will be as of new e.g. all warranty back and flash counter will say none/no
Hope this helped?
