Hi. Can I use my Hero with Sony HWS-BTA2W Bluetooth Transmitter and Receiver? I want to stream music with Gmote from my Desktop and play on my HiFi. Is it possible?
I bought one from Ebay for about £30.
It DOES work but I found it to be too unreliable for regular use.
The connection often drops if line of sight is interrupted, ie if someone walks in between and it often takes several tries to make a connection.
This is with less than 8 feet between sofa and receiver.

Bluetooth should work fine as long as sender and receiver are in the same room. I think somebody dumped his broken bt receiver on ebay ;-)
A2DP is good quality, but if you have a high-quality stereo you'll still hear the difference between wire and wireless...
The OP should also clarify whether he wants to stream from his desktop or from the hero. Unless he uses the hero as his desktop, which I doubt.

It was definitely unused and sealed in original packing, just wanted to share the fact it does not work well with my Hero! I have since found some online reviews where similar problems are highlighted.
Sound quality when working is OK but as Volker says not as good as wires!

Ok, so I have already done my searches on here and tried finding users of the TF that are using Bluetooth audio receivers and had no luck. I was wondering if anyone on here has been able to stream music from their tablet to their stereo and if so what are you using and what is the best range you have gotten out of the product.
I will be streaming music from about 30 feet away with a direct line of site.
Any help would be great seeing as I have not had any luck here on the forum finding someone that shares my common interest in Bluetooth for the TF.

I hope I can help you, even if I'm quite new in this tablet stuff...
I just got my TF101 and one of the first things to do was to use my AudioPro RadioOne as speaker by Bluetooth.
I just simply activated BT in the Transformer, searched for visible BT to couple with it and once found, I entered the code given in the radio's manual. Immediately the sound switched to the radios speakers (and was cut from Transformer whilw I used the radio). The sound is as good as it can be and much better than with a cable.
I could go on listening being ~10m (30ft, I guess) away in an other room with the Transformer.
The Transformer works easily on BT, you might need to find out your receivers configuration and code, normally given in the owners manual.

I got one of these for my phone but havent tried with the tablet yet.... My phone and table pair, and my phone pairs with this, i assume it would pair with the receiver no problemo!

gives you a nice 3.5 jack to use so its pretty versitile.
30 ft is pushing it though....i think that is right around bluetooth's limit.
One drawback to the product above is that you cant use whil charging

For very good noiseless audio and MUCH further transmission than bluetooth, I use Audio Engine W1. The only thing it does require USB power. Should work with dock but I haven't gotten it to work yet; need straight power only pins out. A battery powered USB port should work. (plugged in to USB power) worked great at a presentation I did this past weekend.
Bluetooth should be straight forward. I use some sony bluetooth headphones that work great.
I'm still looking for a quality solution for using your own headphones. Bluetooth is not good enough really. Ideally I would like a usb transmitter and a wireless reciever I can plug my headphones into and can run for around 6 hours. Q-Bean-ST is the only thing I have found but they look like junk and the battery life is a bit crap.

Reviews of the belkin "plug in" model have said people have used it when the transmitting device all over the house.

Youre barking up the wrong tree. Bluetooth is "good enough." Where it isnt people are running audio to $400 IEMs and no wireless solution would be satisfactory. So, using that logic nobody develops it.
Maybe I just had a bad experience using a SE HBH-DS970. It constantly drops out and cannot go more than a few feet from the transmitter.
A lot of it has to do with the transmitter. My phone, for instance, seems to only get about 10 feet with line of site. The laptop can be in other rooms no problem. The TF, I just tested it, can only go one room over, once you get a few walls in the way it cuts out occasionaly.
This is all using the thumb sized receiver posted above, the amazon reviews make it sound like the powered belkin model has better range but I never pulled the trigger because if I am using it I am either in the car or in the living room having it play over the sound system attached to my dish/bd player/tv so I am no more than a dozen feet away at any given time.
I use the Voiis bluetooth audio receiver, works great! Good audio quality.
Well, the Nokia AD42W works great with my Transformer to listen to anything through my stereo. I got it very cheap in a local shop, it's possible that the product is discontinued...
Of course, there's the problem of delay. You have to forgive the lack of lip-sync when playing through BT, but it's a bit annoying at times. Audio quality is great, of course not as good as a direct connection.
I have tried it with my Sony system, lg tv, Samsung tv and Sony tv, b-tube speaker,
All worked fine,
Do have a slight issue with the Sony,
I can stream music through bt to the tv once paired,
But to send a picture to the tv I have to un-paire first
I use a Kenwood KDC-BT945U with an A2DP profile and it works great.

Bluetooth headset should be used as audio device and also as chat device.
I have a stereo one, and it works fine as music listening but microphone doesn't work even if in the parameters it is recognized as phone and audio. we have to say that integrated microphone is so good that it is not necessary to to link to another one (joke)
2 days searching and no fix for that integrated microphone quality problem. the only solution is a (f...) wired headset.
Is there any application (running on phone or laptop/PC) that uses the android phone to give the computer bluetooth capabilities such as use of wireless headsets.
Simple to think about probably a million time harder to actual make if even possible however it saves me buying a usb dongle, although obviously if a app doesn't exist its a easy and cheap fix so please don't just post get a bluetooth dongle instead.

I've just bought a great Bluetooth Speaker to use with my Nexus 4 and it works great. Because it was fairly cheap I went and got another in the hopes that I could connect both speakers to my N4 and output audio simultaneously to both speakers at the same time. I quickly discovered this isn't currently "working" or even possible.
After a lot of Googling, I found an app on the Play store that supposedly let me connect both at the same time but it doesn't output audio to both speakers (I get "static" from the second one). There are also conflicting opinions about whether this is even possible with the current Bluetooth spec although it does mention multicast support and all I could find are various workarounds that involved using a secondary bluetooth transmitter etc.
So can anyone tell me if there is any software/hack (root needed or otherwise) that would allow configuring audio to be streamed/output to two connected bluetooth speakers simultaneously? Others have suggested it for use with bluetooth headsets. It seems if someone could hack/crack this it would be very useful to a lot of people. Maybe even a good idea for someone with the knowledge for a paid-for app. Any ideas? Would really appreciate some feedback on this - even if it's not actually possible - some technical explanation would be great.

I'm going to try combining two devices from amazon and see if I can send bluetooth audio from my phone to 2 separate (and different models) TDK bluetooth speakers. I will let you know what I discover once they arrive.
First Device:
Monoprice 109722 Bluetooth Transmitter and Splitter http://amzn.com/B00AJHAYCS
According to the description and reviews this device can transmit a bluetooth signal to 2 devices simultaneously. Amazon says this takes 2-4 weeks to ship, so it will be a little before I get to test this out. If it does work it's still a pain because I'll have this hanging from the bottom of my phone. That's why I'm also going to try combining this device with another bluetooth device.
Second Device:

no ****. as long as bluetooth has been around, you would think that they would have fixed this by now. what is the use of having a wireless connection that only can connect to one thing at a time. it's beyond moronic, it's submoronic. who wants to listen to one speaker at a time, when throughout history, we have always used at least two speakers, and many times more. you would think even the idiots who make bluetooth speakers, would at least have the ability to hardwire another speaker to the one which is using bluetooth. i have never been more disappointed in a technology than i am with bluetooth.

The reason why bluetooth doesn't support Multicast is because it doesn't have the bandwith to support High Quality streaming simultaneously no would the chips really having the processing power but that could be fixed, but the main limitation is the lack of available bandwith specified in the 802.11 standard for bluetooth.
However future successors to bluetooth will likely have support for Multicast streaming such as 802.15.3a which is being co-developed by Intel, Sony, Philips, Texas Instruments, Samsung. Though the bad news is, it won't be to market for probably another 2-3 years :/

UPDATE: I have received and tested both of these products from amazon. Good news and bad news. Good news, both of these devices work well on their own and do what they are advertised to do. I'm particularly impressed with the Monoprice 109722 Bluetooth Transmitter and Splitter http://amzn.com/B00AJHAYCS. When plugged into the headphone jack of my phone or tablet it sends audio to two different bluetooth speakers simultaneously and the audio is synced very well (not perfect, but for the price it's very good). The bad news, when combined (to create a true wireless system) a decent amount of distortion is introduced which is not heard when using each of these products by themselves. I'm not sure if it's interference from the different bluetooth connections, because the physical connections seem to work fine when used separately. It sounds like you're listening to FM radio where the station isn't quite tuned in right, just some static along with the music. It's not horrible, but it's no where near the quality that you get from a typical bluetooth connection. I might try using another stereo cable between these two devices and see if adding more space between them helps at all. I'm open to any other suggestions. This is close to be a solution for now, but not quite. If you don't mind having the Monoprice dongle hanging from you phone or tablet, the sound quality coming from both speakers is very good.

I am thinking about setting up a whole house, always listening, google now / voice command network using a couple of bluetooth speakerphones and an older android phone. The more speakerphones I can spread around the house the more coverage I would have.

The custom Bluetooth stack allows a single Bluetooth transmitter to broadcast to up to 4 devices simultaneously.
I hope I'm posting this in the right sub-forum, since I think this is not a device-specific problem.
So, I recently bought a Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 and as you probably know, the Drone can be controlled via an Android App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.parrot.freeflight). First I simply tried the app with the default touch controls, but it was not precise enough and I missed the tactile feedback. Then I had the idea of connecting my PS3 controller with the Sixaxis app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller) to my phone (Moto G 2nd Gen., 2014, Dual SIM variant) and controlling the Drone with that. And here comes my problem:
If I have only Wifi enabled on my phone I can fly about 25-30m with the Drone
If I enable Bluetooth (to use the PS3 controller) and Wifi the distance drops to about 10m and I get a lot of connectivity issues to the drone.
I also tried my ASUS Transformer Prime (TF201), that's even worse. As soon as I turn on Bluetooth the Wifi signal drops to almost nothing.

Can anybody explain why the Wifi quality drops (massively) when Bluetooth is turned on?
I was experimenting a little more this weekend and the issue is definitely there. I was outside of the city, where there was no other Wifi or anything. Looked at the networks with Wifi Analyzer before and after turning Bluetooth on. Without BT all channels had max. rating, with BT on they all dropped to 1-2 stars...
