I'm very happy with my two (one as a incar GPS/test box). Good luck on warranty on a used one, Sony here in NZ didn't want to know for my second one (I brought it broken), although they are a gray import here.
The sleep of death was solved a long time ago on one of the 4.2 updates. There is 4.4.4 kicking around noe.
Yes, i am very satisfied with Z Ultra. Nope the chances for me to go back to small screen is very much gone... Unless no Z2 Ultra in the future.
But as of now, Z Ultra is really great. never got satisfied more than this. Battery Life might need to be better but 5 hour real time screen time average is very respectable for such screen size and power engine
Short answer: Yes. Very. I'll probably stick with it for another year (have had mine for around 10 months now).
horribly glitchy, unpredictable, can't depend on it, countless small little annoyances everywhere
but every android phone is like that... at least this one has a huge screen and is rather fast so yeah i guess

YES, I AM
Except when I'm learning now how to create a custom recovery...
And I don't understand anything, I locked back my bootloader... Still rooted on stock .108
I'm trying to create a website dedicated for this C6833
To avoid any confusion between the Z1 and our Z Ultra
(even if they are pretty close the same)
(I'm recreating a new account on XDA because I forgot my old one, and those 10 posts minimum gets me very angry)
I am very happy with my C6802 almost 11 months after getting it (bought it early August last year). It is still unsurpassed and despite about three weeks before root was possible (vRoot unfortunately), the arrival of GPe got things going.
It is the best phablet made to this date; I don't consider any other device close beside the Oppo Find 7. The only thing I am worried about is the lack of any successor rumor or even information about upcoming devices in the same category. The only competitors I know about right now is the Oppo N1 and Huawei Ascend Mate 2, both with weaker hardware.
My requirements for a new device is Snapdragon 810/815, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, 6.5-7 inch screen, keyboard cover as an option, camera not important (have the QX10 for that), microSDXC slot and... either Google vanilla/Android Silver or CM-based. Sony implementation is OK.
I guess next year will bring those things to the table but it would be great with some decent phablets this fall since it would indicate that the segment is alive and well. Right now, the Ultra is in a class of its own and any other device means compromising on the core: a solution that is a true tablet replacement with great software.
Edit: The GPe ROM paired with Xposed Framework and optimized Dalvik libraries (compensating for the ART/Xposed issue) make the Ultra a completely superior phablet. I have tried the Note 3 (which is hyped as being such a great device) several times and it is far, far behind the Ultra in every aspect besides the camera. The best features of it such as multiwindow is available on the Ultra through Xposed and it works great.

Whats your opinion ?
what should be priority ?
Fixing software related issues stability and pushing out android updates faster ?
Just fixing software related issues ?
Focus releasing new products?
Focus on new features ?
And should more broken product with more software issues and bugs stability issues get priority ?
Or should newest product get priority ?

I was thinking to make this but NO time, you made it, I am going to put a case on you for stealing my idea from my mind.
Personaly think sony should give broken devices priority, and release updates much faster, and max 3 devices a year.
With golden rule that they won't release a new product in a broken state like xperia tablet s or other devices, aka not done untill stable.
With least 3 years off updates big updates included, with another 2 years for small updates to fix issues software bugs.
You can't expect brands honestly to release new product on time every time other brands usualy have problems with that asswell.
But slow updates and fixes are just not acceptabele.
Cheap budget stuff should only get small updates for fixes, only big update if it makes it run smoother and better aka worth it.
Personaly tough i think sony should stop releasing budget stuff just stick to mid range and high end.
High end becomes the new mid range in the next year and in the year after it becomes the new low end.
Anyway i'm just being reasonable now, ofcourse i expect sony to least support their high end devices 5 years.
Samsung already working on android 5.0

4 people thank me for topic but do not share opinion
while 1 guy thought about opening thread and has't shared opinion either.
Anyway its pointless to discuss this here anyway should dicuss this over at sony's forum.
I think Sony should focus on software issue, updates and new features like they have done with Z, water and dust proof. According to me waterproof and dust is more better then various sensors like eye tracking we really don't need then.
Edit - I never thought about opening a thread for this just.that pic

What you guys moving from?
Me I'm moving from gflex2. Lovely phone so comfortable, but it often lags terribly and takes 10 seconds just to share. I have serious performance issues with it,but it's very very comfortable phone.
Between buying the gflex2 and now, I bought Samsung s6 edge and note 5 but sold them almost immediately. They are delicate fragile phones prone to damage (I like naked no cases thanks). Worst of all I hate the physical home button and the back arrow on the wrong place. And the retarded UI. Also so uncomfortable to hold.
Changing from a nexus 5(2013) stock rooted with xposed. Great phone which served me well! But its battery is weak after 2 years. Was deciding between a 5x but opted for a 6p instead because of its better specs.
I'm coming from Nexus 5! I am an Indonesian btw, but studying at NTU for 4 years. That's how I got my Nexus 5 two years ago.
I'm in love with Nexus devices!

im the sixthman here!!!! whoohooo!!!
N5 jp to soon N6P sg set reporting!
Coming from the iPhone 6. iOS is getting too boring. Miss the daily flash of a new, experimental, unstable rom on my trusty G2.
Moving from OnePlus One. Slightly disappointed that Huawei isnt getting the 32GB version
Moving from Nexus 5 JP set to Nexus 6P U.S set. Not waiting for the SG version because I will be travelling early/mid Nov and would want the 6P to tag along for pictures.
The N5 is still running strong after 2 years. No sign of wearing down etc.
Very impressed with Nexus devices.
nexus users are diehard users.
Moving in from the First Nexus 5.

True that. But I am not using the 64GB of my OPO either. Still have 40+GB free. So 32 suita my needs.
I'm not that a big user of storage too. Using a n6 now with 2 roms.
No games and a few mp3 songs.
I still got 15gb free.
Whatever it is, maybe 64gb resale value is higher?
But then I don't sell my nexus.
Wish to get one. Roughly how much is it?
US pricing is well publicized, and since this is an official import to Singapore this time, pricing should not be far off.
It's not even submitted to ida yet. It'll be a long wait I guess
Hi everyone I’m currently debating picking this device up. It seems this device so far has a lot less activity than the Galaxy S2. I’m curious if this is because of the price. I see the tab S2 can be had for about $300 these days and it has a lot of custom development. The Tab S3 on the other hand seems to be a newer device and we have TWRP and some ROM’s but I would hope when Samsung drops support for this device that lineageos or some other AOSP ROM’s would be out for this device. What are you guys opinions on getting the Tab S3 over the Tab S2. Do you thing development will pick up for the S3 in the future? I was really hesitant at first due to the Tab S3’s battery draining Wi-Fi bug but it seems Samsung may have remedied that in recent releases. And I really do like the S pen and that is one of my major motivators to get the S3 over the S2. I see Costco has a sale for the S3 for $470.00 (Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Wi-Fi Tablet - 32GB - Quad Core - Black - with $20 Google Play Credit)

Wifi bug is still very much present but at this point unless Google surprises us with a new Pixel tablet (which does not have it's own share of wifi bugs like the first one lol), there is no other option for a decent spec Android tab.Sucks.
All we really need is the Note 8 hardware on a larger screen, which samsung will release as the Tab S4 with a 10.5" screen next year (I wonder why ? ) , hopefully without any anymore bugs.

Yes I would wait but it seems that tablets have a longer lifecycle than 1 year and Samsung is more on a 1.5 year schedule.
If you want an android tablet now the tab s3 is the best in my opinion. Best and brightest screen, processor( for a tablet anyways) and comes with a spen. The wifi bug isn't that bad the tablet still gets great battery life. I set turn off wifi when screen is off in settings also. Try it for a while..if you don't like it return it.

Hi guys
If you have questions about the phone, just ask
I must say, this is one of the best phones I had. I'm really happy with it. My only criteria were:
- Stock Android
- 71-72mm max. width
- Good camera
- Bonus: DT2W and GCam Mods without rooting
It has all of it, in addition to an awesome display and build quality, and just fits perfect in one hand.
I tried Nokia 7 Plus before, but it was too big for me. My previous phones were: HTC U11 Life, Xiaomi Mi A1, OnePlus 3, Nexus 5, iPhone 6.
Greets from Switzerland
One question - does it have a LED notification light?
@iCstyle: thank you.
No it doesn't have LED notification, like every other Nokia phone.
do you have the possibility to test 4g+ ?
there is an option to hide notch?
thanks
I didn't yet see a 4G+ icon, but 4G works good, also VoLTE.
No option to hide a notch, it should come with Pie though. But Nacho Notch works pretty good.
Hi, thinking of buying this device is it worth it, I'm stuck on this or sammy A7 honor play around 300 Mark, what's future development looking likely etc bootloader unlock will eventually arrive? Thanks

How do you enable hdr10 playback in youtube app? I can only see normal quality settings with no hdr.
I want the steel 64gb version. I had the 6.1 for a day and my big problem with that phone was the bluetooth stuttered when connected to a Cardo Packtalk Bold. No issues with BT on my QC35 headphones though. The Cardo was a deal breaker though. I'll wait until a local shop gets one in and go play with the bluetooth with the helmet on my head. How has the battery life been? Got any camera samples?

good news!
the high-lighted features from sony website are really not the as BIG as the article says, becuase all these features have been implemented for a long time with Chinese mobile phone manufacturers since Android 10....
i'm wondering if my Xperia 1 III will get a better battery life by updating to Android 12...
I'm waiting for this update because the truth is that the Battery Life of the Xperia 1 Mark III is terrible. 2% battery drain in IDLE with the screen off. I Hope they improved this.
From reddit:
It seems we can finally customize google asssitant button?

Anyone can confirm?
Well, your link is forbidden (at least for me) and I already remapped my button a long time ago. Here on XDA are the instructions. Pretty easy actually. What I want to see from this upgrade is 1st and foremost a true SA 5G implementation. 2nd...anything that needs improving let's get it done.
These two are a daily hassle that I'd love to see fixed:
SA 5G fix for USA model
Workaround for Google's broken microSd access
The LTE + NR71 combo it uses for NSA 5G drops a lot and can take minutes to recover.
I'm using old versions of apps to not hit Google's Nov 2021 mandatory migration to SAF for microSd. Google's SAF is so broken that apps only lock up or crash using it. Some phone makers are providing an SAF bypass setting that gets them Google certified without permanently losing microSd use.
In SONY website about the Android 12 update they never mentioned Material U in the feature section, can anyone who upgraded tell us about Material U and how many Sony apps that supports it

Thank you for sharing this info but unfortunately that's a bit disappointing, I was expecting a better implementation from Sony
Can someone share a video or screenshots or recordings etc.
Actually I'm still on Xperia 1 but would like to see Sony's Android 12.
Can someone comfirm any changes for camera app with A12? Or improvements in picture quality, especially in low light? There have been rumors that picture quality in basic mode (point and shoot) will be more similar to other flagships out there with A12, which sounds like a sort of nightmode.
I upgrade it Android 12 and really bad. Sorry guys nothing new...
@Mazellat
What do you mean with "very bad"? Related to the overall experience or that there are nearly no changes?
Performance is same with Android 11 and battery performance improved especially for phone is sleeping. But there is no Material U like Pixel phones.
I will make a screen video for you...
@Mazellat
Well that would be a bit suprising with the sony-launcher in place - don't think they'll update him before 1 IV to support Material U. If they do concider to do it...
The improvement in battery life seems intresting. maybe we can get some more juice out of it.
Can you take a look if the camera apps are updated / have different versions then on the last Android 11 build.
