Hi everyone I’m currently debating picking this device up. It seems this device so far has a lot less activity than the Galaxy S2. I’m curious if this is because of the price. I see the tab S2 can be had for about $300 these days and it has a lot of custom development. The Tab S3 on the other hand seems to be a newer device and we have TWRP and some ROM’s but I would hope when Samsung drops support for this device that lineageos or some other AOSP ROM’s would be out for this device. What are you guys opinions on getting the Tab S3 over the Tab S2. Do you thing development will pick up for the S3 in the future? I was really hesitant at first due to the Tab S3’s battery draining Wi-Fi bug but it seems Samsung may have remedied that in recent releases. And I really do like the S pen and that is one of my major motivators to get the S3 over the S2. I see Costco has a sale for the S3 for $470.00 (Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Wi-Fi Tablet - 32GB - Quad Core - Black - with $20 Google Play Credit)

Wifi bug is still very much present but at this point unless Google surprises us with a new Pixel tablet (which does not have it's own share of wifi bugs like the first one lol), there is no other option for a decent spec Android tab.Sucks.
All we really need is the Note 8 hardware on a larger screen, which samsung will release as the Tab S4 with a 10.5" screen next year (I wonder why ? ) , hopefully without any anymore bugs.

Yes I would wait but it seems that tablets have a longer lifecycle than 1 year and Samsung is more on a 1.5 year schedule.
If you want an android tablet now the tab s3 is the best in my opinion. Best and brightest screen, processor( for a tablet anyways) and comes with a spen. The wifi bug isn't that bad the tablet still gets great battery life. I set turn off wifi when screen is off in settings also. Try it for a while..if you don't like it return it.

Both IPad 3 and Samsung Galaxy 3 newly released device and both are very good in terms of design, hardware and software etc. i am just confused to choose between IPad 3 and Samsung Galaxy 3. so can anyone suggest me which is best IPad 3 or Samsung Galaxy 3. so what you all think on this both device comment here...thanks in advance
Both Ipad 3 and Galaxy S III are to completely different gadgets.
Ipad 3 is a 10 inch tablet whereas Galaxy S III is a 4.8 inch smartphone...
Ipad 3 is not a phone in which you can insert a SIM and make calls...but a Galaxy S III is!!
I say you better buy both of them as both are almost different kind of product.

Go with a phablet (Galaxy Note, LG Optimus Vu) if you really can't decide between them
I have an iPad3 and a Galaxy SII. I use the iPad at home, and the Galaxy SII at work and outside. They are different devices but both very usefull and amazing. You need to see your needs and choose.
In my case, I would choose the Galaxy SIII.
as per your thread title galaxy 3 dosent stand a chance to any new mobiles out there
You could also ask, which is better a Ferrari or a truck. Depends on what you want to do.
In general I would not buy a device from a company that puts any restrictions on how I can use my device, what software can I put on and so forth. It should be illegal for companys to do things like phone x can only be used on network a, the gaming console can only run games not linux, you can only use their over-prized accessories.
Specwise, the gpu from the SGS3 isn't as fast as the sgx543mp4+ but it indeed can almost keep up with an IPAD3 looking at those benchmarks

The galaxy s3 for the fantastical and innovative functions.
Inviato dal mio supernexus s usando xda app.
why would you ask such a question?
ipad 3 you should get it is amazing
if you are talking about tablet , get a nexus 7
I had both. I think that iOS is better for tablets and android for phones! But if you are on a budget definatly get the nexus 7!

The adreno 225 is actually as fast and the krait cores crush the a9 cores in the iPad. Sprinkle on twice the ram and you have a much much better device.

Yeah but iOS is a lighter OS, the iPad 2 runs fine with 512mb. I know this is the reason it doesnt have siri but the point is it runs well, plus it really doesnt make a difference to the end user anyway as iOS manages it well with the multitaking api's

So I have three Android Devices.
Samsung Galaxy S3 (ICS 4.0.4) (Stock)
Galaxy Nexus (JB 4.1.1) (unlocked but jelly bean re-rooted)
Galaxy 7 (JB 4.1.1) (stock)
The problem is, I can't transfer pictures between any of them. If I try to send a pictrue from the S3 to my Galaxy Nexus I get this.

If i try to send a picture from my Galaxy Nexus to my S3 I get this error message.
"the receiver device does not support large file transfer via beam"
When I try to send a picture from either S3 or Galaxy Nexus to the Nexus 7 I get nothing at all as if the NFC is turned off but all three devices do have it turned on.
Am I missing something here?
Sending pictures with the help of NFC was only introduced in Jelly Bean. This is why your Galaxy S3 is unable to send pictures to your Nexus, or the other way around.
I'm not sure what the issue with your Nexus 7 is, but it's possible that you're not tapping the phones against it in the right place. The NFC antenna for the Nexus 7 is located behind the Nexus logo on the back of the device.
If NFC isn't working on ICS why is Samsung advertising it in the S3 videos? And is there any announcement for JB's release from Google?

NFC is working on the S3, but Samsung have opted to use a different method for transfer than Google.
Jelly Bean has been out for the Galaxy Nexus for almost a month. You'll have to wait much longer for Samsung to push it out to S3s.
Just tried this with my friend's s3 ics. Definitely doesn't work. So dumb to advertise or even release phones without fully working capabilities. Sick of all this word play on Android devices instead of fixing quality issues.

Hey guys I am coming from the Motorla Bravo/defy which has PHENOMENAL, ease of rootability and unlockability support on this forum. I was wondering how the Galaxy S3 fairs in this regard. Another thing there seems to be scant information about, particularly on CM9 (vs say stock) is battery life on the S3. For someone who is largely on wifi how long would the battery last you? I mean the talk time and standby are insane, I want to see how practical they are with a quad processor though.
Does the S3 also allow you to opt for 3g (for battery saving) even if 4g is available?

rooting a Samsung phone is easiest. boot loaders are unlocked on all Samsung models except Verizon s III. battery life is better than most phones I have used. I get around 5 hrs of screen time.
this is international s III forum and international s III has only hspa+ support. no lte

My battery lasts a full day with Wifi/3G on full screen brightness, with varied use of many different apps.
For one day, I ran my phone in power saving mode, used it fairly sparsely, and it dropped less than 10%, if I recall correctly
How can a phone that has multiple times my talk time and standby from my bravo only last a day doing the same exact thing
I wonder if I get it on contract and don't like it whether or not I can return it if the battery life sucks
I'd really like to have one, but there are a couple of issues: The screen...if I bought a used one, for example, can I get the warranty honored? Secondly, the SOD: Has it been solved?

I'm very happy with my two (one as a incar GPS/test box). Good luck on warranty on a used one, Sony here in NZ didn't want to know for my second one (I brought it broken), although they are a gray import here.
The sleep of death was solved a long time ago on one of the 4.2 updates. There is 4.4.4 kicking around noe.
Yes, i am very satisfied with Z Ultra. Nope the chances for me to go back to small screen is very much gone... Unless no Z2 Ultra in the future.
But as of now, Z Ultra is really great. never got satisfied more than this. Battery Life might need to be better but 5 hour real time screen time average is very respectable for such screen size and power engine
Short answer: Yes. Very. I'll probably stick with it for another year (have had mine for around 10 months now).
horribly glitchy, unpredictable, can't depend on it, countless small little annoyances everywhere
but every android phone is like that... at least this one has a huge screen and is rather fast so yeah i guess

YES, I AM
Except when I'm learning now how to create a custom recovery...
And I don't understand anything, I locked back my bootloader... Still rooted on stock .108
I'm trying to create a website dedicated for this C6833
To avoid any confusion between the Z1 and our Z Ultra
(even if they are pretty close the same)
(I'm recreating a new account on XDA because I forgot my old one, and those 10 posts minimum gets me very angry)
I am very happy with my C6802 almost 11 months after getting it (bought it early August last year). It is still unsurpassed and despite about three weeks before root was possible (vRoot unfortunately), the arrival of GPe got things going.
It is the best phablet made to this date; I don't consider any other device close beside the Oppo Find 7. The only thing I am worried about is the lack of any successor rumor or even information about upcoming devices in the same category. The only competitors I know about right now is the Oppo N1 and Huawei Ascend Mate 2, both with weaker hardware.
My requirements for a new device is Snapdragon 810/815, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, 6.5-7 inch screen, keyboard cover as an option, camera not important (have the QX10 for that), microSDXC slot and... either Google vanilla/Android Silver or CM-based. Sony implementation is OK.
I guess next year will bring those things to the table but it would be great with some decent phablets this fall since it would indicate that the segment is alive and well. Right now, the Ultra is in a class of its own and any other device means compromising on the core: a solution that is a true tablet replacement with great software.
Edit: The GPe ROM paired with Xposed Framework and optimized Dalvik libraries (compensating for the ART/Xposed issue) make the Ultra a completely superior phablet. I have tried the Note 3 (which is hyped as being such a great device) several times and it is far, far behind the Ultra in every aspect besides the camera. The best features of it such as multiwindow is available on the Ultra through Xposed and it works great.
Who and another did not preorder a Galaxy Note 7 ? Do you still consider buying Samsung’s latest phablet ? Samsung Galaxy S8 is nearly half a year away accrording to this report
Would you wait for the Galaxy S8 or S8 edge, or would you buy a non-Samsung smartphone this year instead?
I was all set to buy a Note 7 on release day in the UK. I didn't pre-order as my contract wasn't due for renewal until the day after release. Obviously it's now looking like late October/early November before they will be widely available.
At the moment I'm waiting to see what Google bring to the table with the Pixel XL before deciding. They launch that on 4th October.
S8 Edge is an option but despite the crazy rumours I suspect it will be little different to the S7.
Answer is yes; question is when.
Samsung Galaxy S8 display rumored to carry 4K resolution and support for VR.
yes if price reduced
surely i will buy it but price should be reduced to at least 30-40 %
yes, I want another one!
Do you guys know that Samsung Galaxy retains No.1 spot in brand value despite recall, a local brand research company said Monday.

Here are the 5 reasons to buy note 7
It's the prettiest phone Samsung has ever made
It's one of the best smartphone cameras
It's the most stylus-friendly Android device
It has more bells and whistles than other flagships
It's better than the Galaxy S7

Agreed.
If it had a flat screen and front firing stereo speakers it would be perfect
