Aloha mates wondering if there was a sticker or a screen protector that covers the hideous verizon logo on their g3
This is exactly what I'm looking for. Was all set to pick this up but I honestly can't stand that logo. Unless I can find a discrete way to cover it up I don't think I'll purchase the G3.
I've dealt with screen protectors with black strips covering the edges outside of the screen, so that'd be most ideal. Unfortunately I can't find anything.
Verizon customers getting screwed over as usual... lol
Good coverage, crappy phones. Divine justice, really ?
There's gotta be some decently easy way to remove that thing right? Its not like its etched in correct?
Verizon logo doesn't both me one bit. the locked bootloader on the other hand does

I asked someone in the Verizon G3 thread who just got a verizon review unit. its not etched or printed on the glass, it's underneath it so there's no way to remove the logo. You either have to cover it up or just deal with it.
the logo is indeed hideous. lucky we don't do such thing here in my country. i would be pissed off to have any other logo than the brand on my phone.

Custom Battery Doors?
So we can all agree that the Developer Version of the G1 has a pretty sweet custom battery cover. Anybody know of anywhere making similar products?I expected to find a whole slew of decorated covers in all sorts of colors by now, but I searched Ebay and some online shops and no dice.
Re: Custom Battery Doors/Plastics on Dummy G1s
Have you considered picking up a dummy G1 (like they use in retail displays) cheaply on eBay? They may use the same casing parts - if anyone knows, please tell me?
I'm thinking about getting one of the dummies and respraying the plastics purple, then swapping the plastics with the ones on my G1 (using the instructions in the service manual that showed up on the interwebs).

Sure, I'll get around to a picture in a few days.

I painted mine a while back. Sanded it down first, to get rid of the rubberized texture (for the paint to stick better).

That battery cover is not white lol. It more like gold/silver/copperish?
I asked the seller and he told me that indeed it was white, but you never know its ebay
I think that may be the UK one.
Apparently when the G1 Pictures first came out the UK white G1 Variety had a white back cover.
I have the white G1 in the U.S. and It has a Silver/Greyish battery cover.
I have had the problem that the "Softtouch" has started to fade and there is a visible copperish color coming through. The inside of the cover is in fact white, so I guess you could clean a grey one off and use it as white.
T-mobile paid (Through account credit) the cost of 15 dollars plus S&H to replace mine from HTC. I ordered the Black one so I would not have this problem again. Now my Phone is white in front, with a grey stripe around it and a black back. Looks Storm Trooperish.
all white (except keyboard)

Is it even possible to replace all of that? If I can find one without the logo in all white I would definately want one, but wouldn't it be too difficult to replace all of it?

yup, so possible in fact, that HTC wrote a manual on how to do it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468673
ok, not a whole manual, but it's in there somewhere.
also it looks pretty fkin hard to do, i don't trust myself tbh =/
doesn't
it doesn't really look that difficult. just follow the directions. time consuming yes. i wouldn't do it unless i found one without the t-mobile logo, that would be a waste of time. if i could find one with no logo i'd be so happy. i hate advertising for free
i have a white UK G1 and the back is the same glossy white as the rest of the phone...
the white paint is holding up brilliantly as well and as i said is the same glossyness as the front... so white front, silver trim with a white back.

I am having this same problem. I know a guy who has done the same as you but he didn't have to pay for the cover. He went in to T_Mobile and told them the problem and said he wanted a black back piece and they just gave him one. As for myself, I may just do the same.
I like the black back
I just paid up front for it, T-mob credited my account for it.
I like the black back, looks kind of Storm-Trooperish.
While a Glossy white one is most appealing to me, (I consider myself lucky to even have a white G1). I think it will be a while before white battery covers become available OEM, until then the grey back looks like its really dirty around the edges, so the white one gives the phone a more polished look.
External cover need
where can i buy a external cover? not comes with battery.. i ony need external cover (door) because mine broken. need a new one
I really want this phone but can't stand the Verizon logo. Is there any way to get rid of it or cover it up somehow?
The one on the top of the screen? Or the one on the notification shade? Well the one on the phone itself is in there for good , I mean unless you find a case or something that will cover it ... As far as the notification shade , that can probably be done by a developer within a made Rom

Yep I mean the physical one on top of the screen. I did a quick search and saw that on previous phones people have been able to use a penny or sugar cube to scratch off the logo. If that's not the case, do you think it could work to get a very thin sticker to cover it up with? I just can't stand it..

I'm almost certain its in the screen , I mean you could try to scratch it off , but hey it might even be under the screen or in ... A thin sticker would work , but that's on you... Strangely enough I haven't noticed the logo myself , it just doesn't bother me . Having come from At&t I would rather see Verizon than the other

Some folks just too much time on their hands.
The logo is printed under the glass. You'd have to tear open the phone, and get a replacement, unbranded screen (I believe the screen and glass are fused together) and rebuild. Aka, it's basically impossible. It's not that ugly, get used to it.

Ha, that is the truth...
If (I hope) manufacturers read these forums to get a grasp on what the customer wants.
A screen protector with a blacked out top (above the screen) would be absolutely amazing. This way, we can black out the Verizon logo without needing a case to do so.
Just thought I would throw this out there, see if it sticks.

That would be cool. I don't like even screen protectors myself, for the same reason I don't like cases - but then I tend to get a new device every few months anyway.
Tempered glass solution
I was really hoping some kind of Tempered glass solution would be offered soon. To be honest I have had a hard time finding any type of screen protector for the DNA worth buying.
Hi all, I'm looking for a way to hide/remove the verizon branding on my DNA. Reason being is that I work for another cell carrier and have verizon with the DNA. A few days ago, I find out that we are getting the DNA as well.
I want to use my Verizon on the sales floor without customers knowing it is on Verizon. Is there a screen protector that will hide the logo on the front or way to remove it(doubtful on this one)?
Thanks for the help. I may just end up putting a piece of electrical tape over it and call it a day. lol. As odd as that may look.
Otter Box Defender case is what I use

If you get a big black sharpie with a wide tip, you can black out the logo on the top of the screen protector, not under because it will just smear. But if you do a clean job it won't hardly be noticeable, anytime you have it on, your eye will draw to whatever is on the display, right?
random but i'm curious as to what carrier is getting the DNA?
A skin from decalgirl or skinit or anywhere else outta the the trick just fine.

Gotta figure Sprint?? Probably not, as I believe they got One. Correct me if I'm wrong.
They are behind the glass so getting rid of them is probably very close to impossible but is anyone offering the service?
Remove the panel and black out the Verizon logo in the top right and also the LG logo in the bottom center.
I would love a phone with a completely black front screen.
There are skins you can apply to your phone that will hide the logo. Dbrand is one. I was considering getting one but undecided about which one.

The LG Logo I understand.
The Verizon logo is just stupid.
You could always get a new screen. That will at least get rid of the Verizon logo.
I would so do this. I don't like either logo. I wish they had made the notification light Nexus-like and put it right where the LG logo is, and done the LG and verizon next to eachother at the top. It looks so bad the way it is now

I'm going to have to look into this. I would want one of those gorilla glass screen protectors though (the plastic ones feel weird when your using your phone) and I would want it to hide both the verizon and LG logo so the front just looks completely black.
