Yeah something isn't quite right yet, apparently I did 1000 steps while watching 2 hours TV haha
At least I'm not the only one

Yeah mine is not accurate at all....not even close! I did 2000 steps today from 10 to 11 while sitting at a desk the whole time.
It's way to sensitive right now: Just shaking your hand a little activates the step counter. That's why you get so many steps even while sitting.
Check this out:
Yes its pretty much useless as a pedometer at the moment. Not sure how they were testing it to let it be so inaccurate.
ignore my ramblings I figured it out
Hopefully they'll be able to patch it in software. I "walked" over 1000 steps this morning while driving to get breakfast.
More awesome mistakes by LG, it's like my g3....like they never even tested the software before they release things....now we get to wait for a year for an update.

Hello folks,
I would like to ask you guys how is your experience with the GPS on the Optimus G, as in how fast and reliable is the GPS on it. I'm currently on the LG Nitro HD and as you can any of its users, the GPS is pretty bad on it. At times it can literally take more than 5-10 min to connect, and at other times it won't connect at all until I reboot the phone. I've used many apps to try and aid the locking speed of it but it just won't work at times. And when it does it can constantly lose it too.
I'm thinking of picking up the G one of these days but I'd like to be certain that this issue does not plague the G as well. Please share your experience with me.
Thanks,
Sean
P.s. another major issue is the compass, where it cant hold any bearings at all and constantly flails around in every direction. The only time it works is when I'm driving lol. The moment I stop, it goes nuts and takes my working GPS with it, messing up directions.

after about 5 seconds, if that
I played golf today and used the lgog as a GPS rangefinder. Got very accurate readings within a couple yards of a laser rangefinder my friend had. It also doesn't seem to use much battery, which is good.
Got a fix within 5 secs or so. Used it for a 4 hour round and had 70 percent left.

GPS test...works great...gives you all sorts of info...I am coming from the Samsung captivate and that GPS was ok...and this one,LG, blows it away...I have it rooted and the new ROM AND haven't seen it change in performance.

I'm finding the exact opposite right now with the battery use. I was getting a 45% drop overnight while I was sleeping. So last night I turned off the GPS to see if that was causing some drain, and I woke up with only 13% drain. I'm going to do further testing though to see if there are any other items that might be causing this.

Haha, yeah if I can snag it for 99.99 again this Christmas, then I'll switch to it, unless at&t comes out with some other better phone by then, which I highly doubt.

I was just wondering how much time everyone spends using or playing with Galaxy Note2 per day average? I spend about 5~6 hours and I can't control it.
If im not working, Usually ~8-9 hours sometimes longer. Ive had it alnost 2 months and still can hardly put it down

May I ask, what kind of work you do?
I would say, being the geek I am, 4-5 hours of on screen time is logged in per day. That's been the rough average since I've had this phone for only a week.
During the week, 2-3 hours at most. Weekends, anywhere from 2-10, depending on what I'm doing that day.
I'm using my gnote2 all the time. Whenever my hands are free, my phone is in them. Its a lot of phone to learn as stock but now that its rooted I got double the stuff to play with on this bad boy. I quickly got used to the size and now every other phone is tiny and mine is normal. I honestly feel my hands have gotten bigger. Lol. I love this thing

Way too much time. Think I'm addicted. Used to come home and then use my nexus 7 but now that I've got my Note 2, i rarely use my tablet anymore (or my home computer). This phone does practically everything i want. A major time killer

Until this weekend about 2-5. Now that I got the MOGA and MC4 I've been playing about 7-9 hours at least.

So I ended up caving in and buying this phone thanks to your xda feedback. You may have responded to my topic before. I love this phone, man is it a beast of a phone for its contract price.
But anyway, only one small concern. This phone gets pretty damn hot. Is this safe at all? I mean for the phone.

When I first rooted, mine got scalding hot in recovery, so hot that it would shut itself off and not turn on until cooling off. Given that, it hasn't done it since the first couple weeks, and my phone is still running excellently with no signs of slowing. I would say don't worry about it.
Eco mode helps with that.

Mines gotten hot a few times no big probs
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda premium
i've only had mine get hot on big downloads (or big uploads thru google+) i run hotspot at work sometimes i'm on bluetooth all day, texts and calls all day, using the internet a lot (ifunny! haha) and it doesnt get too hot. i've run nocturnal, slick rom, stock, and currently running the 4.1.2 rom and so far so good...great battery life compared to my old phones too
everyone seems a bit on edge about the whole unlocking thing so i figured i would have a little fun with the battery stats. i have had an htc incredible, incredible 2, the S3 , my wife has the S4 and now i have the note 3. i have rooted all of the devices and placed setcpu on them, typically with custom operating systems....clean rom mostly...i like it =) i recently found the qualcomm batteryguru software and paired it with a minimum 760mhz on setcpu...we were out of town and i forgot my charger...not like the wife didnt have one but i wanted to have a bit of fun so i never charged it. sure, i didnt use it much, i think there was about 2 hours of total actual screen time. but we sent some txts, emails, checked maps and chrome a bit...i was extremely impressed with the battery life!!!
about the unlocking....it will come, just be patient. some phones take a while if i remember correctly. others are nailed in a few hours.
That's baller. Glad to know it's capable of that if I ever need it

I have noticed that the tips of my middle and ring fingers have started feeling numb and tingley. I noticed it about 2 weeks ago, but now it's getting a little more uncomfortable. I have switched from my left hand as the base to the right one, I also switched around some of the options to left handed mode. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips?

Not sure this is a technological question as it is a question for your doctor.
Sent from my SM-N900P using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Unless you're on your phone 24/7, I'd say something's not right. As the previous poster stated, though, it's not a technical issue or anything related to a specific device. It's a medical issue of some sort, and the only person qualified to diagnose what exactly the problem is and what's causing it, is your doctor. Not the internet, your doctor....
