Installing an OS when storage is formated - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
yesterday I made a big mistake with my SGS3. I wanted to full wipe it - what I did - but I also formated the internal storage. Now there is no OS on it.
It's still possible to get in the recovery and I was also able to push cm11 on the micro sd card, but I when I tried to install cm11 from the sd card, it wrote failed.
How can I fix that?
If possible it would be great if the instructions would be easy to understand.
Please help me!

Well you should toggle verification signature. Maybe will work.

Or install other rom, like one with the custom stock 4.3 and install rom manager and update your recovery. Try to install the last version of cwm

I tried to install cwm because this "toggle...." option wasn't in twr.
but now I can't even go into the recovery
It stucks in the Samsung Galaxy SIII logo

How you tried to install cwm? O.O. You did all wrong i bet... Download the stock rom from the sammobile. Just put it stock, you know how to do that? And root again, and install the rom manager of clockwork mod and with that install cwm dude. Simple and you will have an updated version of cwm and all roms will work. Make sure that you are downloading the right zips. I bet you have the gt-i9300 ?

After the download I put the phone in download mode
then I flash the stock firmware through odin
then root
then flash cwm
then flash cm11
right?

Yes dude... That's how i did. Stock rom -> root -> install rom manager on google play and in rom manager install cwm recovery. Then you go to recovery, already with the cm 11 zip in the sd card and so you do a wipe data and an install by sd card.

OK. I don't have this folder on my System. So I think it is either an application error so that it would not create that folder or it is not created because the backup doesn't run complete.

It's written that it isn't possible to get into the CSC.
So maybe it's because the kernel is not able to OR because soemthing wrong with the CSC.

[Q] accident installing ROM

hi guys, i have came here to ask for some professional advice since i am completely stuck.
i am new to android and custom ROMS. I did my research into how to install custom ROMS to my android though made a mistake.
I basically wiped my phone from the:
"ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS:
no
no
no
no
yes
no
no"
.... its now stuck on either stock recovery mode or on the screen where it shows the colorful S and the words Samsung GALAXY S II screen.
What i did
I installed clockworkMod to my android since i wanted to directly install the cyanogenMod from the clockwordMod app. i watched some you tube tutorials and did some research on how to. I followed the steps up until it was time to install the CyMod. i cant access my phone anymore to be exact but an error message along the lines of:
E: cannot install this ROM
E: another failed install message
installation canceled.
(sorry it vague, i struggle to remember the exact messsages)
So i tryed it again and the same error messages came up. previous to this stage i had taken all the backup recommendations though due to a ...Mistake i wiped everything off the phone from the example above thinking it was a step before installing the new ROM. and now im here...
I assume this is a very noob thing to do but...well everyones got to start somewhere.
my phone does not get recognized by my computer so cant transfer files into it and reboot like that so i have no idea how to get it back?
any advice or help would be great.
thanks.
**EDIT**
i am also able to access Download mode (if this helps for a solution)

im not too sure how i would do this.
i can enter recovery mode and the options i have are :
reboot system now
apply from sdcard
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
so i chose apply from sd card and the list is:
../
update.zip
update1.zip
.adc/
.adobe
ETC
but there is no 'clockworkMod' backup folder or anything which i would assume the backup is stored!!
the update.zip and update1.zip is the CyMod that didnt work (failed to verify whole-file signiture)
?

If the cf root procedure was successful I wouldn't worry about installing a diff recovery just yet, lets get the phone booting 1st. Download a custom rom and get it moved onto your external sd card, Boot into recovery(from power off, press volume up, home button and power), make sure its custom and not default. Then install the custom rom zip and reboot it should hopefully fully reboot. then look into installing a newer custom recovery.

yes, saw it. its a custom rom. tried wipe data / cache but didn't work. will try to install custom rom sentinel now.
was able to install the custom rom but kept on rebooting after few minutes. it already happened thrice now.
anything i am missing?
It could be the insecure kernel you used earlier is making it unstable, probably if the custom rom doesn't install a kernel. Only thing I can think of is install an official Samsung g3 rom which should repair all the partitions that might of been damaged or corrupted, use it for a while to make sure no reboots. Then go through root and install of custom rom again. In theory creating a good foundation to install a custom rom on.
Just out of curiosity did u download an official Samsung rom before starting to flash in case u need to send it away or sell it on? If not what network/country are u using? Is the phone locked to the network or unlocked?
Edit:- I never used a kernel flash to root my phone just used cf root 6.4 to get root and custom recovery cwm. I only changed my recovery this weekend to Phil touch.

What version of TWRP are you on? Sounds like you need to update to the latest version.

You can download the zip file here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552655
Then reboot into recovery. Then flash the zip like you would any other. When you reboot to recovery, you will have a new recovery.

See my above instructions. It is a zip file that you flash in recovery so there is no Odin involved.

OTA after rooting or tweaking the phone?

I wanted to know if there is any way to install an ota zip on rooted phone.I am currently on twrp 3.1.1. I have already tried flashfire. i have also tried restoring to stock system, boot, recovery(using flash firmware option in flashfire app) but still it it shows 'can not update' error even in stock recovery.
Very very thanks to anyone who replies.
download it, rename the zip to update.zip, put the zip in your phone and use update app

there's no flashing option on stock recovery.
Only at TWRP (or other custom recovery) Flash directly from there.
Rooting has nothin to do with it.

Oh, that error means the ROM might be faulty or you're flashing the wrong one.
Be ensure of the ROM first.
Redownload and check.
