T-Mo Sense 6 4.4 update loses tethering? - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I heard that the latest update from tmobile loses tethering. Is that true? I'm still on 4.3 stock because I like flash, but am considering updating. If it stops tethering, that's a deal breaker

[Q] Bluetooth tethering via galaxy nexus gsm

I have just received my transformer prime and I am having trouble tethering my GSM galaxy nexus. The firmware has been upgraded to the latest build of ICS for both devices. I get a notification telling me that the connection via bluetooth tethering has been successful but I am unable to use it. I have also tried pdanet tablet with no luck. Is it possible to tether the phone with the tablet via bluetooth at all? Should I just bite the bullet and use wifi instead?
i know your talking about bluetooth, but if you mean ad-hoc... its been removed from ICS ... sorry
What do you mean by ad-hoc tethering? I have seen this term around the forums but not sure what it refers to.
I am able to do do wifi tethering just fine on my prime. The reason I would like to try it over bluetooth is to save battery on my phone.
You're in for some trouble. I have a Gnex and a Android Tablet. There's an issue with the Gnex dating back to last year where the BT connection will drop after a few minutes. Its a gigantic pain in the ass and to date I haven't found a fix.

[Q] Tempt me back, WiFi tether?

A few months ago I got rid of GS3 due to the WiFi tether crapping out every 10 to 15 minutes at work.
requiring me to restart the tether
Yes tethering is allowed, I have the wonderful unlimited 3UK "The One Plan" all you can eat data inc tethering
I updated my GS3 to the at the time latest 4.0.4 generic UK rom.
How is the tether now ?
Hello
I can't tell you how is the update because I still don't have it... but I have experienced same kind of issues, specially when connected from my Macbook.
Tether from my Motorola Atrix 4G was far way better, I must say that.
Anyway, what I did to "solve" the issue (not completely), was install FastDormancy Toggle application, to disable fast dormancy since I think it is not supported by my network. Also, in my Macbook network preferences, in advanced, under Hardware, I set MTU to custom, and entered 1453 as adviced in a forum.
I must say it works better now, although not perfect as it used to work in my motorola Atrix.
I am waiting for my Jelly Beam upgrade to see if this gets fixed. If it is not, my next smartphone will be definitively another motorola.
so Motorola androids have good hotspots?
Yes they do

[Q] Slow (or no) transition from Wifi to mobile data

Lately, my phone seems to have a real problem going from Wifi to mobile data. I know the location I'm in gets a GOOD 4G signal, because if I approach the building before it can see the wifi, it will be on 4G and working just fine. After going inside, connecting to wifi and leaving, it can take over 15 minutes sometimes before I get any mobile data connection.
I've tested 4G in the building by disabling wifi before arriving and the entire time it stayed on 4G and worked as expected. Any ideas what is going on or could fix this?
Software version: 3.16.651.3 710RD
Android 4.1.1
PRI Version 2.97_003
PRL Version 25015
I do have root, but I'm running stock. (Strange, I know. Few roms I tried give me no touchpanel and I've not set aside the time to figure it out fully. Also, 4.2 seems to have bluetooth issues?)

[Q] Stock LG OG WiFi Issues

Hey how's it going XDA. I recently "upgraded" my old SGS2 to my wife's LG OG. I used my upgrade and got her the SGS4 she's been wanting.
Anyway, She had this phone for less than a year but ever since we got it, we always had issues with the wifi never working. Sure it would be connected on the phone but there was never any connectivity longer than maybe a few minutes or even after a certain amount of data transfer.
Is this a known issue with this device? It is a stock LG OG aside from a factory reset to 4.1.2 and I did root and unlock the bootloader to install CWM Touch on it earlier today.
Do any of the custom roms fix the issue? I read a lot about the ATT Smart WiFi app but even with that disabled and so many other configs, the wifi on the device is very spotty.
Any help would be appreciated.
I had similar issue with the stock rom, wifi always disconnecting. I use PA 3.99 RC 2 now, wifi connection solid.
I was wondering about this because it is a huge pain the ass to remember Wi-Fi passwords all of the time.

[Q] Can I downgrade from Lollipop to 4.4.2?

Just received a replacement phone the other day from Sprint and it came pre-flashed with the Lollipop update. Besides the fact that I don't like it, I can no longer maintain a 4g connection. All areas I know of that had great 4g connection consistently now either just hold at 3g or switch to 4g momentarily then back to 3g. Old phone was 4.4.2 I've read a few posts about folks going back to 4.4.4 with success. Can I do the same but revert back to 4.4.2? If not, can I just flash the nc5 modem over oc5?
If you can't get 4G, then chances are you have a defective phone. Tell them to send you another one.
I went through this twice with Sprint.
I can get 4g. It's staying connected reliably to 4g that is the problem. Already took it back to sprint. They said to give it 2 to 3 weeks for the phone to "optimize".
That's BS. You didn't wait when you got your first phone.
I agree but both the real sprint store near me and the independently owned both pretty much said the same thing. Give it time to establish itself within the network. And of course the 4g wasn't dropping out while I was there. May just have to call sprint in the a.m.
Well I decided to just say to hell with it and go for broke. Odin flashed 4.4.2 NC5 and so far success. Have 4g connection that is no longer unstable from the very spot I never had 4g issues at, right in front of my PC. Guess now I just need to make sure it doesn't auto update back to lollipop. Not that I want to go back to Lollipop but could this have just been a matter of they hosed the update at the refurb center? Almost tempted to auto update back and find out.

Worth a shot. It will flash a new modem that should be good for 4g. You can also update prl and profile. If it doesn't take just odin nc5 again.
