Hey, guys
I'm trying to figure out which ROMs have fully working WiFi Direct and Cast Screen (AllCast or Android-native Miracast).
I'm especially interested in 4.4 variants, either Sammy (Archiport, natch!) or AOSP.
Also, if someone has some background info on why theses features seem to be absent on most recent ROMs, I'd love to know more.
Thanks in advance!
So, got moved to troubleshooting
Still, can't anyone chyme in?

Hi Guys,
Cant be the first to think of this or ask but cant find any info on XDA or google other than the two links at the bottom.
I know we are some time off a stable ICS build for the SGS2 but once we are there wouldn't it be awesome if when you plugged into a monitor/tv via HDMI cable instead of just mirroring the phone UI it instead switched to the ICS Tablet UI and enabled all the apps for fragment views and big screen viewing etc? Operation through bluetooth mouse/keyboard perhaps? Then you could use your phone as a PC rather like the Atrix Webtop (but with same OS).
I found this article but seems it doesn't work properly on the phone as the status bar disappears and this is not through HDMI/MHL LINK
Some info about modding dpi but not in context of getting Tablet mode LINK
Some poor soul asking something similar on CM forums with no replies LINK
Just an idea anyway....

Great idea
Nice thought, bridgstfer.
Might it be easier to start with linking to TV through WiFi (need WiFi-enabled TV or Blu-ray) - the Android hot-spot data interface function already works pretty good.
Would be really awesome if properly implemented, but it will need a dev team putting a lot of work into it...
That's a really good question, waiting for a good answer.
Heylo everyone, I'm running currently AOKP .40-06 ICS. Looking for some themes that will run on our lovely tablets. Noticed there aren't too many that work. Show me what you got with links if possible. I want to change, and figured there doesn't seem to be a solid serious thread for this, soooo......
Anyone, start it up....Lol.
Very sorry if this is a repost or in the wrong place, new here.
I've currently running the stable version of CM9 however, no TV apps are working. Whether it be Netflix, TVcatchup or iPlayer, they just won't work.
I can browse the app for as long as I like but as soon as I press to watch something the screen goes black, audio DOES work and the phone just seems to go into spasm.
Is there a known fix for this at all?
Thanks,
Jay!
As I understand it, these issues are related to DRM. Stock ROMs have some specific components that custom ROMs don't, which is why some features are not functional, such as TV out of FM radio. They are drivers that Samsung has never released, and probably never will. Netflix cares more about securing their content than they do about whether you enjoy the experience of using their product on your device. They've declined support for a Linux client for much the same reasons as above.
For future reference, the CM9 thread is a better place to ask these sorts of questions. Mods may move this thread accordingly.
Currently, I'm using an AOSP rom (PAC-Man). I think it's the most feature rich and smooth rom so far. I found myself to have stuttering on the stock TW and even more on alternative Kernels, CleanROM too. KBizzle is absolutely awesome. Yes, I was messing around with a lot of different things. But I have an idea of what I'm doing.
However there are still some things from TW that I love. Google's voice service doesn't add up to S Voice, at least, for me. I've done a ton of research on multi-window view for AOSP based roms and everything. I've found a package of apk's ripped from an S3 stock firmware and I'm wondering, Are there any differences between the two? Are the apps on the Note 2 updated further than the one's on the S3?
Also, what are your thoughts on the PAC-Man Rom? Anyone having issues using Bluetooth with Skype?
Im looking for a rom for droid dna that supports bluetooth map. This feature will let me see text messages in my car and currently the roms im trying are not working. I read in several places that this feature was placed into the version 4.4 of android. Can anyone give me advice or a current rom for the dna that can help? Even if its something I can install to a rom thats current would be great too. Thanks for the help in advance.
