SCH-I545 Verizon S4 Debrick image? I can't find it - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

**this was resolved long ago. Thanks!**
Does anyone know where the NC5 DEBRICK image is for the Verizon S4?
I have googled high and low to no avail and I cannot find the Galaxy S4 for Verizon debrick image. I have an S4 debrick image I just can't recall if it's for the Verizon s4 or not. ::::::facepalm:::::::
If anyone could shoot me a link to it that be great and much appreciated, Thanks!

What bootloader are you on? I'm on MDK and could get you that one.... I can't seem to locate my MJ7 one.. Going to keep looking though. But if we know what your bootloader is since that matters maybe we can get you it.

Forgot though to include this :
Type the followiing into Terminal to get the debrick image. .
SU
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/backup.bin bs=1024 count=131072

I had saved that from a post from way back in case I needed it. I believe that should be what you'd need someone on NC5 to type into Terminal. However if any of our local XDA Gods are viewing this and can confirm and or help... Please do!

Hey I know you've got all sorts of things on your plate but we are curious as to how one actually gets a debrick.IMG from that bin file?!
It's not the Win32 Disk Image tool?

The .bin file is the debrick.img , you can rename the file earlier in the dd step to debrick.img instead of "backup, bin" so the debrick.img is already made. Next steps would be to use win32 disk imager as you mentioned or dd the debrick.img on to a sdcard.

Thanks Surge. I was curious. Seems Jessooca has a better handle on this than I do. Never actually needed to use a debrick myself.
Someone who is on NC5 can surely run those commands for you in terminal I'd think.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Here... If someone on NC5 Build who is rooted could please hop into Terminal and paste the follow :
Su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/debrick.img bs=1024 count=131072
Click to collapse
That will create a " debrick.IMG " file and put it onto the root of your Internal Memory ie sdcard0
The file will be 128MB
Could you then zip it up using something like Es File Manger and then Dropbox the zip here so Jess can work her magic??
The zip should be 32MB after compression.

Is there download mode or recovery? If there is, you might just have a soft brick. If your phone wont boot up at all (e.g. doesn't even turn on and show the samsung logo) then you need a JTAG repair. If you could tell me how your phpne got into this state, that would help me a lot.

It's a hard brick.
I rooted with towelroot.
Installed SuperSU by downloading latest Superuser.apk from their website.
Installed Flashify and tried to flash ClockWorkMod Recovery.
Tried to boot into recovery and got the Verizon triangle (Unauthorized System Software).
Used download mode and cancel workaround to get back into Android.
Used EZ-Unlock to supposedly unlock the bootloader.
Found out that 4.4.2 has a permanent tyrannical bootloader, and my phone is now bricked.
Will not turn on. Will not respond to any button combinations. Will not connect with USB or charge.
Hoping to avoid mailing my phone to a JTAG service. If I have to, are there reputable ones that are recommended?

I don't know any reputable jtag services... but you could probably search for a jtag service online and read their reviews. It sounds like you have messed up the boot boot partition since ez-unlock is for the verizon s3 and the s4 bootloader is locked extremely tight. I hope that one day we will be able to unlock the verizon s4's bootloader (besides the mdk bootloader that can be unlocked). I sincerely wish you good luck.

ive flashed stock rom and stock recovery and still have the custom unlocked padlock.. any ideas? i need to go back to verizon since i messed up my sim and 4g is broken.
third time flashing recovery and stock rom and the padlock is finally gone
I have the same issue. I had jellybean. I think it was 4.2.2, rooted it and then they pushed the OTA kitkat 4.4.2. I lost my root and I'd really like to get rid of that padlock screen now. Problem is people keep saying I can use triangle away to reset the binary counter and that will get rid of it. Can't do that without it being rooted though. Some say just re flash with the stock firmware. I'd do it if I could find the file but some say that doesn't work anyway. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Ive read somewhere on here that it may be something on you external sd card , possibly old " hack , root " files from a previous phone?
Also if busy box was ever installed that would need to be removed. There's probably something else I'm forgetting. But if your phone just has that custom screen.... Verizon doesn't really care i can tell you from personal experience.

Thanks for the reply. I read those responses but mine didn't have the padlock out of the box. I just figured maybe someone found a way to get rid of it by now after the KitKat OTA removed their root. Perhaps re flashing the stock rom, which I can't find, might do it. And I did look around with no luck.
Eh. No biggie. It's not affecting the performance of the phone. I'm just being anal. I guess I can live with it. Thanks again.

K... Guess that had issues with Odin. Here's how I did it...
Odin this modem/apnhlos: http://invisiblek.org/sch-i545/firmware/jfltevzw_MI1_fw.tar.md5
Then patch it via recovery with this: http://invisiblek.org/sch-i545/firmware/MI1_to_MJ7_modem_patch.zip
We'll have an actual Odin flashable once we acquire a full tar.
FYI with that apnhlos you won't have audio on AOSP roms until tomorrow's build of cm (for you MDK'ers out there)

Invisiblek,
Did you actually get those files to flash in odin? I looked at them and they are still padded so I assumed they wouldn't pass in odin because they wouldn't appear as signed. Using your modified method you mentioned, afterwards someone could dd their modem.bin partition to their sdcard and then upload it and one of us just has to trim the file and it would be the same as a modem.bin from an odin tar I believe, this is essentially how I created the modem.bin for OYUAMDK

I just received the update as well. It was small. I just clicked check for updates for the first time in a month and was shocked to see my phone found one. Don't know what the changes are yet.
I also got the update and I can't find any update notes anywhere yet. Searched through Verizon and Samsung's websites, nothing is posted yet. I'm guessing it is just a maintenance update.
New build number is JSS15J.I545VRUEMK2
Here's what I found about it.http://www.christianpost.com/news/galaxy-s4-software-update-coming-to-all-carriers-soon-110005/

I am rooted MJ7 and this update failed as well. Im sure there will be updates soon. Give it time.
Guys...if your rooted and you accept the OTA you could brick your phone. If your on a custom ROM most dev's remove the files necessary to take the OTA's. Simply be patient and wait for someone to, in the spirit of the holidays LOL :silly: , wrap it in a pretty little zip package then we can flash it via custom recovery.
I cant get the update since im not on MJ7 and no odin tar via kies or vzw update assistant . Someone has to post the update.zip from cache/fota before any analysis/editing can be done.

[Q] Please help. Need to downgrade

I upgraded my note to 4.4.2 with freeza rom. I have my phone flashed to a different service provider (other then sprint) I found out that 4.4.2 is not compatible with the flash. Anytime my device is flashed then my phone has no service. It has a red x on the service bars. If I can downgrade my phone then I will regain service and be able to use my device. If I can't downgrade then you can say I just have a paper weight.

From what I have read, it is possible (not confirmed), you need to flash the engineered bootloader, then you can downgrade to na4 and then back to mj4...i have not seen anyone try it yet, you might be the first to try... Check out freezas threads and follow them. I believe if you read the leak thread he created, the steps are there. Good luck!

From what I have read, it is possible (not confirmed), you need to flash the engineered bootloader, then you can downgrade to na4 and then back to mj4...i have not seen anyone try it yet, you might be the first to try... You are going to need the engineered bootloader first, then you might be able to down grade to the na4, once you do that, hopefully it will let you go back to mj4... I'll grab a couple more links for you...

I can't seem to find them from my phone, if you do a search in the threads, look for na4 tar and mj4 tar, if you can successfully get back to na4, you will need to flash mj4 twice, after the second flash, go straight into stock recovery and do a wipe and then it will start back up... Like I said, best of luck man. And read the forums, you don't want to risk bricking.

Shyne888,
You're on Boost Mobile right? You upgrade to 4.4.2 and you have completely no signal right? You can't go back to older bootloader, samsung made sure of that.
But you can downgrade your MODEM to get the signal back.

I use 3.09 Odin and seems to work best. If you are flashing bootloader put the file in bl, if you are flashing the mj4 or na4 put it in the ap slot. Search for Odin and you will find lots of info.

Can you please keep us posted with your results. I am also having a little bit of flashers' remorse with the 4.4NAB. Already missing MiniN3 5.8 but I am glad to see Carbon and Slim for our phone. Very promising.

I haven't been able to attempt this yet as i still have a few questions. All i need to know is what slot the modem goes in in Odin. Some thing are saying that Odin is not the best to flash the modem. Is this information true and the file that was provided: would it be compatible with 4.4.2 stock that came from MJ4

Someone said Mobile Odin is not recommended for flashing modems. You should be using PC Odin to attempt this.
And...why do you need to know into what slot a modem goes?
I believe that the files that are part of this process are bootloaders, tar roms and pit files (if you're going from 4.3 to 4.4.2). Bootloader is contained in the complete rom builds NAB, NA4 and MJ4. No modem. The bootloader, if using, goes on bootloader slot. Rom goes in PDA slot.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.

I asked because i felt that the modem was the problem from all that i have done and been thru wit this phone. Anyway...
I inserted the modem from the link provided on this thread. http://goo.gl/W0f3Za. (The post on this thread that provided the link to the MJ4 modem was no longer on their server/cloud.
I inserted the file in the phone slot and pressed start. Odin got stuck at first attempt. While the phone was stuck i closed Odin and held down the DL mode keys and reentered DL mode. I tried Odin again and it went thru. It reset and worked. I have call with text (No MMS or Data). Old texts that came when i was without service which was a week came back as well.
I encountered what seemed to be a hard brick thru out this process and with flashing CF Root thru Odin. My phone would show the recovery message and show the samsung logo and then it would boot loop and do that over and over. I wasn't able to boot into DL mode and i couldn't get it to stop automatically rebooting and do the same thing over again. I had to take the battery out. After leaving the battery out for 2 minutes the phone stopped auto booting and i was able to get the phone into DL mode.
Once i got into DL mode CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423 with the Odin file provided worked. The CF Root for this phone does not work for this phone for some reason.

My phone came on 4.3. But I'm already on 4.4.2. My problem was that updating to the Kit Kat update on a Sprint MVNO network would knock out service. And i have done a lot to try and fix this phone for the last week and this is the only thing that worked to get the service back. Two store i took the phone to couldn't get it to work. My question now is: Would this be the best modem for me to be on?

I think that you need to keep your eye out for Josh Beach and K3. I've heard that there's a universal install procedure that handles MVNOs.

[Q] S4 verizon I545VRUDMG7 root help

Hi,
I went through all the form to root my S4 verizon(unlocked) but nothings related to MG7 baseband??
my baseband version is MG7 is it different than others?? i coudnt find any post related to this version
Main problem is KNOX security is installed in my phone in system directory,
KNOX preventing me from root access(when i tried super user app i am getting a notification ""An application has been forced to stop for an unauthorized attempt to access system in your device"),
so i tried to uninstall the KNOX but I need a root privilage to uninstall it. I stuck in the loop.
after I found to bypass the KNOX I should use the certified application to get into root. (i may be wrong i am not sure) is their any way for me to root and install cynagenMod ?? or if helped in uninstalling KNOX i can root it.
Thanks in Advance.
FYI: BaseBand version is I545VRUDMG7 its verizon and unlocked now using AT&T

Are you sure it's MG7 and not MJ7? I did a quick Google search for I545VRUDMG7 and the only thing I found were the posts you created on this and other sites.
Maybe you could post a screen shot of your phone info.
Even Google says...
Did you mean MJ7???

Weird...its 4.2.2. ...is this pre mdk?anyone know what this is lol...never seen this version...if it is surge may want a good look at it
Maybe some sort of test build? Did you purchase the phone used? Generally S4 build numbers have followed a pattern. The second letter generally indicates a date, I believe. That's why MDK was most likely a May 2013 build, ME7 was a June 2013 build, etc. So this may be somewhere in between ME7 and MI1. I would say this device could be a rare gem and may even provide more information towards a BL exploit.

Its very strange I could only find i9500 with similar build number but clearly that shows as an i545. Someone here will know. He says he has Knox on there though?

Wait you dont have root on this? Try saferoot or any of the root methods we have they should work. Next it would be helpful if you sent me your bootloaders would you be willing to help us? Also please refrain from installing Cyanogenmod for a little bit until I can get some of the partitions from your device. Also don't upgrade the baseband yet either please.
There was a reason they didnt release this build. It would be helpful to know why I need to analyze the bootloaders from this build. I hope you read this soon and above all else do NOT update your phone!

I guess @Surge1223 can send you pm's on how to extract the needed files to find more about your bootloader. He could probably write a script for you.
@Surge1223 he had asked me couple hours ago how to pm you. So if you guys arent already in contact maybe shoot him a message.
