This is the split window feature for LG-L9-II from G pro 2 (its working better than G3 in our phone)
This is for stock rom kitkat v20b ONLY
[Do NOT use it with other phone/version - modifies telephony-common.jar/odex and com.lge.frameworks.jar/odex]
If you want to try it with other phone/version, create a installable CWM zip file with the 4 files above, from your phone, so you can restore it in case something go wrong.

Open browser, go to Favorites, tap and hold a favorite page and select "Add to home/start screen" (or something).
[In other words, add a short-cut to a page at home screen]
Tap on the short-cut. You must see it in split window.
If yes, as I said, in order to see the pop-up window tap and hold back key just a little longer than a normal tap.
If not, its not working [I don't think so - must work on v20a too]

Ok, perhaps is this:
With an root editor, add the following two lines to your build.prop (located at /system folder)
ro.lge.capp_splitwindow=true
persist.splitwindow.support_all=true
reboot

This might be a little off topic but is it possible to add custom fonts to the settings>display>font menu? I mean is there a xml file which stores the necessary paths for fonts? You can install fonts from SmartWorld so there must be a way to do this .

Hello,
First of all thanks for the info, i have used this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1352993, until i discovered this topic and try this one.
My phone is a Neo V and it works very well.
In your first post, where you explain the steps to follow in the process, i think you must exchange steps 5 and 6 and also modify just a bit steps 4 and 5(wich must be 6).
I mean:
-Step 4: Copy SystemUI.apk from SDCard, go to /system and mount it R/W (not /system/app because in /system there is no SystemUI.apk to replace), paste the file here.
-Step 5:Change permissions to rw-r--r-- just as you explained in your 6th step.
-Step 6:Copy the file from /system, paste it in /system/app and confirm the replacement and reboot.
Following this order you don't get into troubles like me.
Because if you replace the file before changing permissions you will get stuck in a endless looping dialog telling anything about an error, clicking ok and again getting the same dialog in less than a second. I finally get out pressing power button to show 'shutdown dialog' wich also was totally covered under the annoying looping dialog, i just started taping as fast as i could, until fortunatelly one of my 'taps' hit de shutdown option between the dissappearing and the appearing of the 'loopy error dialog'. After powering on again it just get missing the notifications bar, i went with RootExplorer to /system/app, finally change permissions and reboot again and... just fixed it.
Hope i helped.(and well... i'm not a native english speaker)
Salut.

Hi all. Searched this and did not find an answer.
Jellybean natively has Toggles on the Notification Bar.
Instead of using the built-in toggles from Beans ROM, I prefer to use Widgetsoid because it offers additional toggle button options that are not otherwise available (example: toggle for "Keep screen on when device is plugged in", etc).
ROM: Beans ROM Build 16
Issue: When I disable the built-in JB toggles (Settings/Custom Settings/Toggle Settings/Widget buttons/ then deselect all options), there is a blank space left where the toggles would normally be (see pic below).
Question: How can I disable the JB built-in toggles completely so that it doesn't show this empty space?

Removing "lithroid-res.apk" and "lithroid-res.bak" from system/framework/ prevented device from booting.
If there is any error in what I did below I can try it again.
What I did:
- I used Root Explorer to make a .zip backup of "lithroid-res.apk" and "lithroid-res.bak" (left backup file "lithroid toggle.zip" in system/framework/)
- Used Root Explorer to delete "lithroid-res.apk" and "lithroid-res.bak" from /system/framework
- 5 seconds later system hung (unresponsive to power button being pressed for 15 seconds, so had to do a battery pull).
- Pulled battery and re-inserted to reboot.
- Boot animation came up, but device froze after that.
- Didn't feel like restoring full TWRP backup, so I booted to TWRP, and used ADB to move my backups of "lithroid-res.apk" and "lithroid-res.bak" back to system/framework (I suppose I could have used TWRP File Manager, but ADB is just as easy).
- System booted fine.
Questions:
1) Could the use of a space in the filename for the "lithroid toggle.zip" file in system/framework cause a boot issue?
2) Any other ideas how to remove the toggle bar from the status drop down?

Ya I was sure it wasn't that easy I was just telling you what files dragonstalker was talking about (by the way the stock toggles are built into framework so no apk to delete).
Now how you really need to do it is decompile lithdroid apk and set the height to 0. I don't recall the xml that's in, but I'll see if I can find it.

While flashing a rom, sometimes we get a "status 7 error". This Guide helps you to get out from it, and flash your favourite rom. Let's get started.
Move to META_INF > COM > GOOGLE > ANDROID by extracting the rom.
Here you will find a file "updater-script". Rename this file as updater-script.doc (microsoft word format) or use notepad++ (preferably)
(in some pc, extensions are nor visible. to make them visible, follow these steps)
Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking
Folder Options.
Click the View tab, and then, under Advanced settings, do one of the following:
To display file extensions, clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box, and then click OK.
Double click to open it( microsoft word preferred)
delete text, starting from "assert ....... till the semicolon ( of the last getprop command).
(See the image in the attached file for carefully deleting the lines. Click this link.)
Save the file now.
Again rename the file, and delete the .doc extention
Now go back and zip these files again. and you will get a zipped rom.
And the status 7 error has now been removed!

while flashing roms, many times we get a "status 7 error". while searching in many threads, we do not get how to resolve it. i will tell you each and every thing step by step
so i made a NOOB FRIENDLY WAY TO RESOLVE STATUS 7 ERROR
make sure that the rom you have downloaded matches your phone model, if you flashed some other rom, you may hard brick your device.
1. First extract your rom (for example using 7-zip)
2. Go to the folder META_INF > COM > GOOGLE > ANDROID
3. Here you will find a file "updater-script"
4. Rename this file as updater-script.doc (microsoft word format)

5. Double click to open it( microsoft word preferred)
6. delete text, starting from "assert ....... till the semicolon( of the last getprop command. (see image in attached file-lines to delete)
7. Now save the file
8. Again rename the file, and delete the .doc extention
9. now go back to the main rom folder where you extracted the 3 files. zip these files again. and you will get a zipped rom.
and the status 7 error has now been removed!:good:
happy flashing :victory::victory:

Solution:- One or some of the prerequisite requirement for the needed upgrade is missing or corrupted . So you may need to identify and replace that requirement for the installation to continue. Most likely could be due to wrong bootloader, wrong CWM, Wrong IMEI, Wrong Radio etc

I have had Error 7 due to delete many apps and unnecessary files in the rom. I resolved my problem flashing again the rom (previous rom) that I was removing apps and files. Then, I flash the new rom and problem resolved. Regards.
P.D. I have FXP238 CM10 installed and running ok.

1. First extract your rom (for example using 7-zip)
2. Go to the folder META_INF > COM > GOOGLE > ANDROID
3. Here you will find a file "updater-script"
4. Rename this file as updater-script.doc (microsoft word format)
5. Double click to open it( microsoft word preferred)
6. delete text, starting from "assert ....... till the semicolon( of the last getprop command. (see image in attached file-lines to delete)
7. Now save the file
8. Again rename the file, and delete the .doc extention
9. now go back to the main rom folder where you extracted the 3 files. zip these files again. and you will get a zipped rom.

thx for good work
These are the "hard" G3 apps ported for LG L9 II v20b - kitkat
ROOT required - for some perhaps not!
[probably work with other phones if they have kitkat]
[Ok, I will say it. Make a backup first]
You will need a root file manager - I am not making CWM zips unless is necessary.

This is the LG Easy Settings (the settings in a tab view), BUT also the LG G3 settings.
All settings working, but some effects are not applied to our phone.
How to
<> Put the LGEasySettingsG3.apk to /system/app folder (or install it like any other app).
[This will give you the tab view for the settings]
More
<> Delete the LGSettings3_2.apk, LGSettings3_2.odex, LGSettingsProvider.apk and LGSettingsProvider.odex from /system/priv-app folder.
<> Put at /system/priv-app the LGSettingsG3.apk and LGSettingsProviderG3.apk
<> Reboot
LIMITATION
At wifi tab can not see the "search" button - I am "searching" it , but we can live without it.
[Funny thing , at landscape mode is there]
LG Lockscreen G3
[DO NOT use this with any other phone/version]
Lock screen settings from G3 goes with appropriate LGKeyguard.apk.
If you want it for other phone version, pm me.
<> Delete LockScreenSettings.apk and LockScreenSettings.odex from /system/priv-app folder.
<> Put at /system/priv-app the LGLockScreenSettingsG3_signed.apk
ALSO
<> Delete the LGKeyguard.apk and LGKeyguard.odex from /system/priv-app folder.
<> Put at /system/priv-app the LGKeyguard.apk
<> Reboot
If you have problem with "Knock Code" at lockscreen (can not change it with password/pin, because is incorrect), set 5 times a wrong knock code and select "Forget Knock code?".
All settings working, but some effects are not applied to our phone.
If you have problems with shortcuts goto /data/data/com.lge.lockscreensettings/databases folder and delete the 2 files.
LG Browser G3
<> I don't remember if there is a LGBrowser*.apk/odex at system/app or /system/priv-app folder. If there, delete them.
<> Put at /system/priv-app the LGBrowserG3_signed.apk
<> Reboot
LIMITATION
Selecting Favorites, you will "see" the three known tabs, but with white background and white letters!!!
LGFileManager G3
You know what to do LGFileManagerG3_signed.apk
LGCalculator G3
You know what to do LGCalculatorG3_signed.apk
BONUS - Weather theme Flex for all themes
This is the LG weather THEME widget (Flex - working only with theme Flex), but now is working with every theme!
<> Delete any *WheatherTheme*.apk/odex you have at system/app or /system/priv-app folder.
<> Put at /system/app folder the LGWeatherThemeFlex_signedAllFlex.apk
<> Reboot
*Small bug with 4x1/5x1 widget
*** If something go wrong ***
Open a command prompt where adb is located.
Type:
adb shell
su
mount -o rw,remount -t ext4 /system
cd /system/app OR cd /system/priv-app
rm <the_file_name_you_add>.apk
reboot
After reboot put back your original apk/odex and reboot again.
It's good to tell me the problem and even better a logcat.

I don't remember exactly. I think, I change manifest, some xml and smali editing.
If you want I can upload the original LGBrowserG3.apk.
Decompile original and mine. After you can compare to see the differences.

I've tried them, and they all work on V20H. I reverted back to stock apps though, because these tend to 'eat' more RAM for me.. ..my free RAM was not enough after installing these..

4. Now go to settings - Notification Panel and hit reset button.

Everything you need to do to get flashlight is this
aktivate toolbox
then hold the toolbox button on homescreen like an app you want to delate
Then you can can choose between delate or edit and in these settings you just need to tick flashlight then it will appear and is working like charm for me.
Best regards
edit .
