[Q] Phone reboots when goes goes to sleep mode - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My GS3 I9300 running CM10.2 Jelly 4.3
The phone reboots after it locks and goes to sleep, installed aLogrec app to check the system logs but the issue never happened again while the logging was running, discover this app have a partial wake lock, installed Wake lock app to keep the PWL and avoid the reboot but I need to find the reason for this behavior, any other app to be able to log what is happening when goes to sleep or tries to wake up and then reboots. Anybody have this issue or any idea what is causing it. Also playing with wifi on off settings without the PWL hangs the phone sometimes freeze.

[Q] Unsolvable Problem - Display stays on / awake

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with my sgs2 that I'm unable to solve.
The problem is that sometimes, not always, my phone does not enter sleep by itself. Infact it doesn't lock itself either.
Also, again sometimes, if I have a missed call alert or text the display lights up but then stays lit sat at the lock screen.
I've done some testing. I have tried different roms and tried the stock Samsung tom without modifying any settings and the problem remains.
If the phone is in my pocket then it can be a while before I notice. Today this happened for about an hour before I checked my phone. The phone was hot and the battery level had significantly dropped.
I've also noticed that with sound and vibrate switched off, sometimes when receiving a call the phone vibrates for 1/10 of a second. Everytime this has occurred the screen has stayed on after lighting up for the call.
I have wiped the user area on my phone but note this did not delete my music and pictures. Is this correct?
Any ideas? I'm really stumped and it's ruining the phone for me.
Thanks.
To see what apps/processes are causing the device to wakeup from deep sleep download and install Better Battery Stats and see under Partial Wakelocks.

[Q] phone not powering down completely

have you guys noticed that when you power down the phone it does shut off but not completely. the reason i think that its not fully shut down is because the phone boots back up within seconds of powering on....also the up time and awake time have not been reset back to 0. this actually is the only way my phone goes to sleep. any other time when i just turn the screen off my phone won't really sleep (wake lock)..ive noticed this with the blackend rom and also infected rom...the way i found to fix the wake lock issue is to do a factory reset which fixes the problem until i have to charge the the phone which everyone knows that the phone won't sleep while charging. so have you guys experienced this? and also do you know whats causing the wake lock? ive searched the forums and cant find anything...thanks!!
Fastboot, in the power menu, turn it off.
ok turned off fastboot and this fixed the up time and awake time not resetting...still having the wake lock issue tho...any other ideas to fix this?

When you reboot your phone, it does not turn completely off because you are rebooting the phone. It is a feature added by htc to speed up reboot speeds. When you reboot, it kills all apps and processes, goes to sleep, and boots up.
Turn fastboot off (menu>settings>power>fastboot) if you want it to turn completely off while rebooting.
To make the phone sleep while charging, go to
menu>settings>applications>development and uncheck "stay awake"
went to my setting and the stay awake while charging was unchecked already...actually i dont mind having wake lock while charging...just the wake lock with normal use...thx tho

[Q] SOD Sleep Of Death

Basically I can leave my phone sitting with the screen off for awhile plugged in and eventually the phone acts as if it has been shut off. I think it is in deep sleep mode and it seems to do this quite often when it is on the charger. Is there a fix for this? I have read about this elsewhere but couldn't seem to find if someone knows how to get it fixed. And this is for my Optimus V with the default 2.2.1 android on it.
I have this problem too and it's very anoying. When I have an alarm turned on and sometimes the phone enters this SOD the alarm does not ring and when I pusn one of the buttons the lockscreen shows the hour the phone entered this deep sleep mode and after a second it refreshes with the current time.
Well my phone doesn't respond when I press any buttons or even touch the screen. Basically it would seem as if it is off because I think it went into deep sleep mode. There should be a option to turn deep sleep off but I have no clue how to do it. That is why I posted the question here.

[Q] Screentime out not working

My screen will not timeout and is constantly on until I manually lock it.
This appears to have only started happening today and I cannot think what would have caused it.
I have set the timeout right down to 15sec to see if it works but it doesn't.
I have switched phone to Airplane mode incase there was a network action keeping thescreen awake but this to did not work.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Unsure what actually happened but restored to a previous back up and is working again. luckily I had made a backup only a few days ago.

screen timeout issue

I have the al10 version non rooted with the latest non beta updates. The problem I have is that the screen does not timeout. Currently it's set to 30 second and changing it does not fix it. If I restart the device the timeout function starts working again but maybe after a day of use, the issue reoccurs.
Even if it's on the lock screen, it does not timeout. Now I could manually turn the screen off, but if I receive a message and it turns it on (lockscreen) it'll stay on which drains my battery.
I have already booted into recovery and wiped cache. Any other ideas besides having to constantly restart my phone?
