screen timeout issue - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Questions & Answers

I have the al10 version non rooted with the latest non beta updates. The problem I have is that the screen does not timeout. Currently it's set to 30 second and changing it does not fix it. If I restart the device the timeout function starts working again but maybe after a day of use, the issue reoccurs.
Even if it's on the lock screen, it does not timeout. Now I could manually turn the screen off, but if I receive a message and it turns it on (lockscreen) it'll stay on which drains my battery.
I have already booted into recovery and wiped cache. Any other ideas besides having to constantly restart my phone?

[Q] phone not powering down completely

have you guys noticed that when you power down the phone it does shut off but not completely. the reason i think that its not fully shut down is because the phone boots back up within seconds of powering on....also the up time and awake time have not been reset back to 0. this actually is the only way my phone goes to sleep. any other time when i just turn the screen off my phone won't really sleep (wake lock)..ive noticed this with the blackend rom and also infected rom...the way i found to fix the wake lock issue is to do a factory reset which fixes the problem until i have to charge the the phone which everyone knows that the phone won't sleep while charging. so have you guys experienced this? and also do you know whats causing the wake lock? ive searched the forums and cant find anything...thanks!!

When you reboot your phone, it does not turn completely off because you are rebooting the phone. It is a feature added by htc to speed up reboot speeds. When you reboot, it kills all apps and processes, goes to sleep, and boots up.
Turn fastboot off (menu>settings>power>fastboot) if you want it to turn completely off while rebooting.
To make the phone sleep while charging, go to
menu>settings>applications>development and uncheck "stay awake"
went to my setting and the stay awake while charging was unchecked already...actually i dont mind having wake lock while charging...just the wake lock with normal use...thx tho

[Q] Screen waking up while plugged (battery life full notification?)

When I leave my galaxy player 5 (international) plugged during the night the screen wakes up at some point which forces me to leave it with the screen down (when I remember), I would guess that happens when the battery full notification comes up.
That anoys me specially because sometimes the screen doesn't seem to follow the screen timeout settings and stays always on. It used to happen in stock froyo and still happens in eryigit gingerbread rom.
Does that happen to anyone else? Any tips?
I have the US version and when it finishes charging the screen stays on for about 3 minutes before turning off (I actually waited to see what would happen). I think it's a bug because my default settings is a minute. Try using different timeouts to see if that solves anything.

Battery Stats Reset/ Swipe Lock Screen Not Always Locking

Having a weird issue today.
I completely wiped my phone yesterday, did a fresh install of Omega V32, Syiah 1.7rc3. Everything has been working flawlessly.
Today however, I was checking my battery stats and they showed up. However I made a call, and then I notice my phone did not lock when I pressed lock. Went back into my battery stats and all the values had been reset.
I then proceeded to test out the lock screen and it appears it is only locking about 8 out of 10 times. The screen shuts off, however sometimes when I press home it turn the screen on it simply goes into the phone and bypasses the lock screen. I have tried 30 times just to see if it was a fluke and so far I have had 6 times where the screen does not lock.
I have waited upwards of a minute between pressing lock and waiting to check.
Anyone have any idea what might be causing these two issues?

[Q] Display shaking and dead

Hello people,
I flash the ROM "CM 10.1 (Android 4.2) for Atrix" with the new kernel today and at the beginning everything worked fine.
But after a few minutes setting up the phone, the screen started shaking a moment until the display turn off (turn off but the phone is still working as if the touch also responds and physical keys are lit). When locking and unlocking the phone, the screen returns to normal.
I realized that the longer I leave it off, the longer it takes to give this bug, after turn on the screen again.
The brightness is at maximum and the phone is not too hot.
At least the phone stopped rebooting but play or do anything else is impossible (I can only make calls) because of this bug.
Any idea why this is happening?

Power manager lock was not held when calling updatePowerStateLocked error.

Recently I am facing issue with my phone (Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551 ML). The screen always stays on and never go back to sleep.
Even when I lock my phone, the lock is automatically opened and the screen stays on forever. The only option to turn it off is switching the phone off. I have tried a factory reset, wipe cache partition but the problem is still on. I have debugged and the problem seems to be with the Wake locks. The error receiving in the log cat says "Power manager lock was not held when calling updatePowerStateLocked".
Any help will be useful. Thanks.
