I installed X nova thor project in my XSola.
While taking backup in CWM (v 6.0.2.8) it says NO SD-CARD FOUND, SKIPPING BACKUP OF SD CARD.
And then ERROR WHILE GENERATING MD5 SUM .
I tried formating sd card but nothing happened.
Please help me solving this.

Install TWRP recovery instead of cwm so you can take backup.

Hi I had to post in here as I can't post in the development forums.
Anyway I'm using a checkrom revo (darknight) and when I install something from kitchen pro when it reboots into cwm I get a message along the lines of
CWM-based recovery v5.0.2.7
Waiting for sd card to mount (20s)
Sd card mounted...
verifying sd card marker...
Sd card marker not found...
Checking internal sd card marker...
I've noticed it does this when using cwm 5.0.2.7 but not earlier versions.
Is there something wrong with my phone, is it cwm?
The package installs but I get the error beforehand
Thanks
I now have this issue.
Wondering if you were ever able to fix this? and if so how. Thanks

darn, you bumped a very old thread xD
anyway, did you try flashing another Kernel? you can find the kernels here
i hope this helps! cheers
Better than starting a new thread?
Here it is what I have done so far using Siyah Kernal:
For some reason when I try to do a backup from CWM (onto the external sd card) I get the error "sd card marker not found" it then goes to the internal sd card and makes a backup file there but it does not work when I try to restore from that file.
If I go into recovery mode and do a back up to external card from there it indicates on the screen that it is saving it to the external sd card but it actually saves it to the internal sd card??
I have reflashed the kernal several times (4.1.5) reflashed 4.1.1, even tried a different kernal but no luck. Tried the kernal cleaning script and then reflashed the kernal no luck. Reformatted the sd card, no luck. Installed original rom via odin, then rooted then reflashed rom still no luck.
Thanks for noticing. :highfive:
Hi Guys 1st post,

Error processing ROM Manager script. Please verify that you are performing the backup, restore, or ROM installation from ROM Manager v4.4.0.0 or higher.
I can pm my full recovery.log but I can't post as I'm being blocked as a new user.. Something about external links??
Guys Any help will be very much appreciated..

Same here with my SGS3 32GB with all cm9 nightlies with ROM Manager. Manual recovery and backup works without problems from recovery console.
With CWM 5.5.0 4 / CF1.5 / CWM3.6 i just getting a error that sd marker was not found but is backups everythong without problems. I use CWM5.5.0.4 as workaround for the moment instead of rom manager.
Tried the following to solve problem:
Reformated microSD 32GB (Patriot)
Flashed recovery several times (rom manager & CWM)
Bought new Samsung 32GB microSD
All above without sucess....
No idea what is the cause for that.
Any ideas?

Solved..
I re flashed root. Seemed as if I wasn't rooted properly!?...
I rooted with my Mac initially but re did it via Odin3. I used a different version of cf root. Just repeated the root process and was able to make a backup.
Still got an error stating ext sd couldn't be found but have read in forum that it's not a big deal!??
Sorry I can't shed anymore light on the issue. Good luck

Thanks for this small thread. I unrooted my phone with Odin and then rooted it again with Odin. Got the idea from here and now CWM backup works perfectly again
Hey Guys...
at first plz be patient with my english skills...i know they are terrible!
I come from Customworx Psycho MIUI with IntSD2ExtSD...I've got a Sandisk 64GB Ultra SDXC...it worked fine with this Rom before...
Now I want to update to a MIUI v5 Rom and just tried to flash MIUI Germany v5 and become this:
http://s7.directupload.net/file/d/3232/t3l4e9lt_jpg.htm
tried another MIUI v5 Custom Rom...the same!
And yes, i removed the int2ext script before. I flashed from Internal!
Finally I got polimorph's MIUI Rom work...but now the SD Card is always displayed as broken! Its fresh formated to extFat and works fine at my Computer...i put it in my S3...boot...shown as broken :-/ ...but it just back in the PC...shows format requiered!
Can anybody help me?! I cant get my SD card work and/or swith to another Rom
Hey man, from what i have experienced clockwork mod can't read extfat format. try re-formatting to fat32 and give it a shot. Clockwork Mod gives me a similar error if i use a extfat formatted cards.
Cheers, Bentree.
Its a 64GB Card...Windows 7 let me fomat to NTFS and exFat only!
The error in clockwork appears without using any SD Card...while flashing from Internal!
update:
after formating with gparted to fat32 my SD works again!!!! THANKS FOR THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUT I STILL GOT THE ERROR WHEN FLASH INTO ANOTHER ROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry i thought you were loading from external card. Ok the error for the pic you posted does suggest that the zip file is corrupted. do you know what the md5 checksum should be? Can you check it and make sure the file is good. If not re-download and try again. I have had quite a few roms fail a md5 checksum test.
Can you post me the link you downloaded the rom from?
Cheers, Bentree.
i reflashed the hole system via Odin...the only thing that works...
So i was trying to install this ROM, but it didn't work. And i accidentally wiped out my whole system and the only thing my s3 GT-i9300 can do are CWM and download mode. It got the backup on my Mac but how am I suppose to upload my backup to my phone? My Android File Transfer won't work so what should i do now??? (I am starting to get worried) It just stucked in the samsung screen
Sorry my English is not really good not so forgive me.
Upload the backup on an SD card with another device (card reader/other phone etc) and then place the card on your phone and install ZIP package from external SD. Hope this helped.
*edit* also why would you install a GT-I9505 rom on a s3 ?!??!?!

I have no clue. Probably a bad backup file. I guess you can try a couple more times (wipe cache etc every time) if it fails just install a new rom from xda dev forums (this time made for your s3!) to get your phone running.
I'm trying to back up my room ( neatrom) before I install aroma. When I have come to do it via Cwm it says free space - 0. unknown partitions size 1- /sd-ext. Then when I start it says error backing upboot image. Can any one help please?

Maybe you don't have enough space.
could also be a faulty sd card, i had one recently and it formatted properly but when i tried to use it in recovery it failed, after several formats etc i tried a program call pen drive test which writes to the card until full then reads back what its written, mine failed on read back so it went into bin, the program is a freebie and can be used to test fake or otherwise usb keys etc bought from your favourite online auction site.

Thanks for your replies on this and my other thread regarding back up. I reformatted my sd card and that seemed to resolve both issues.
