I tried CifsManager, couldn't make it work. “no such device”. Found a module for kindle hd, didn't help. Has anyone had a better luck/app for mounting drives?

ES File Manager has an option for that.
Well duh, but within the ES fm only, not system-wide. Other apps don't see those drives.

Is it possible to format the USB storage using a different File System? Right now I have FAT32 but I'm wanting to store files that are greater than 4GB.
Is this possible? I've done a search but can't find anything related to this.
Bump

Yes, it is.
Does anyone have any guides? I can't find anything on google or through searching.

Just format it with your PC and choose which file system to use (FAT16, FAT32, etc).
Why do some apps not see the SD card? Ie. Doubletwist and file explorers.
Thanks for the help

On some apps you can set the base folder (eg,: VLC Beta)
I use Astro File Manager and it let me see the SD.
Merry Christmas!
I will try astro out. I tried a couple others but no SD card was listed. Only the built in memory. One thing that is different with this tablet is that there is no selection to format the SD in the settings like on my Samsung and Asus.

I would like to be able to copy and paste files to the SD card of my Note 2 from my computer over my home network. In windows 7, I am able to see other computers in my house and transfer files between them. Is this doable with my Note2? Currently my method is copy files to drop box, then open drop box and export to SD card...
Thanks.
Yes. You can download apps I like samba file sharing or you can use es file explorers lan function to transfer files...

Have you tried airdroid
Sent from my SCH-I605 (AKA NOTE 2)
SSHDroidPro and WinSCP. Or just use Samba Filesharing
You could ask a kernel dev to implement CIFS. I've seen it on other phones so it can be done.
Whether you can find one to do it or not is another story.
Sounds like Airdroid is for you.
Man, I realized that the Note 2 won't work with Samba filesharing apps. There is some issue with the wifi interface not being detected. Lame.
SSH and WinSCP may be the only solution I know of that works.
I'm on SWG 3.43 I'm having a problem connecting to my ps3. Not sure when this was changed as I haven't put anything on my system recently but as you can see in the picture these are the only options available when you click USB connected. If anybody could help I'd appreciate it.

The Evo automatically connects as an MTP device so those options are just for if you're tethering, do the files from your SD/Flash memory automatically show up?

I have no problem connecting my device to PC. It connects as "EVO" and I'm able to access sd card and internal storage. But I'm trying to copy data from my phone to ps3 and its not reading it. With the old mount settings I would hit mount disk drive if I remember correctly and my sd card would pop up allowing me to copy music/pics/shows etc. Now I only get these tethering settings.

hi
can you somehow measure speed you getting.
Hmm, name the app and I will figure it out. I don't think I can do that in es file explorer.

you can measure with the speedtest app. (sideloading working) but you have to have a mouse to work it.
also you can copy file from your local network to nexus player and es file explorer will show your speed.
