So, I put my SD card from my Galaxy Note 2 and stuck it straight into this phone, and now it says the SD card is damaged. I've tried reformatting in the phone, no go... Reformatting on computer with Windows, and various other formatting programs, no go... Any ideas on how to get it working again?

I replace mine every new phone. If you've been on it since Note 2 it's probably just dead. I put the one I bought 6 months ago when my S3 was stolen and replaced in this with no issue. So it's not a Sammy to LG thing.

It is probably at least a year and half old... This one has actually lasted me awhile... I guess I felt like I was getting lemons and then this one lasted longer than the others. I think you are right now. I hate paying for something that will die so soon :/

Try finding "USB Image Tool." Free. Pulled my 64GB SanDisk from my Galaxy S3 and my G3 killed it too Sad day. Everything I had on my phone was on that card. Backed up to it and wiped my S3 to give to my wife. Pulled the card and it died lost everything. Used that tool to make an image of the card so I can keep working to try to recover it. Then hit 'Reset' in the tool to reset the bootsector on the card. Could format and use it after that.
I had my SD card get damaged by the phone the other day. Just happened when I answered a call
Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
Just happened twice with my Verizon LG G3. First time around, I wrote off my 32gb card (SanDisk Ultra Class 10) as possibly bad because it came from a damaged tablet (card wasn't able to format; trying to RMA it). Now, less than a week after, my 16gb card (Patriot LX Class 10) is now showing damaged as well. We'll see if I can recover functionality with that card (at least my pictures were backed-up).
Both cards are genuine, and have never had any problems up until this particular phone.
UPDATE: Cannot recover/reformat SD card (on any device), and might be looking at another RMA. Not sure if it is worth it at this point to try to get a replacement phone while I'm at it (since I use this one for business, and not a lot was being saved to the card itself). Plus, considering all of the posts I've seen around this, I'm not sure if there is a bigger issue.
My g3 killed my 32gb card. Killed it dead.

I went and got my phone exchanged at BB for the backlight flickering and the pictures that were on the SD card are not showing up now. They were all there when I first got the note coming from the streak but now taking it from the old note to the note I can't find all the pictures that were there. They are probably gone with the wind huh?

I just received my 32 GB micro SD and I'm gonna put it in my note. I had a 16Gb. When I put in the 32gb it slowed down and my phone would freeze more often. I am running Liquid Smooth Jelly Bean 4.1.2 RC8. Ima format the 32gb so it can fresh it out. Should I reflash my ROM since I've upgraded the storage?

Did you move any system function or apps onto your ad card? I would put in the 32 and format and partition it, then take everything off the 16 and put it on the 32. Then report back your findings.
BTW- did you buy the same class card?

Had one of my 32gb micro's crap out on me today. Of course it was my more valuable to me card. Popped it my laptop to grab some files for a new Novena flash only to get a "must be formatted." Fired up testdisk 6.13 to have a peek at the partition before panic set in, just to find it detected as 32mb. Was a genuine Sandisk. Not impressed. Can't for the life me get the partition repaired. I'm fine with taking the data loss now, but can't get it to format. Going to try HP Drive Key Boot Utility once I borrow someone's WiFi in the a.m.

i read a thread here in the forums, cant post the link though, "sd card becomes lil slower when the memory is almost full or completely full..
btw go for class 10 which gives 10Mb/s r/w speed...class 2 is very slow...
so even if the memory card is 8gb class 10 it will show some performance..but 32gb class4 will be fine..but at some times u will feel it has become rather slow.." i didnt see if you mentioned what class the SD card was. hope this helps a little.
My genuine 32GB SanDisk MicroSDHC UHS-1 Class 10 card did the same thing almost immediately after I got it in Septemeber. It eventually died after two months of use. SanDisk RMA'd it, and I'm waiting for the replacement. I'm expecting that the replacement will also die... I think our phones is killing these SanDisk UHS-1 cards.
Mine was a week shy of a year old. Be my last SanDisk. Doubt it's our Notes doing it though. Had mine in and out of a Captivate, S2, Note dozens of times.

This thread is defeinetly interesting. I originally had a patriot 16GB class 10 (excellent card BTW), as I began to run out of storage I decided to buy this sandisk ultra 32GB HC1 supposebly read/write speeds are better than class 10? Wrong.. my speeds dropped even with tinkering with system tuner/ SD settings didn't seem to help much.. I have screenshots somewhere of both cards tested and compared.Well besides that One month goes by and my device kept trying to randomly read and scan the card as if I just turned the phone on? Games and apps wouldn't start saying app not installed? Eventually the card crapped out asking for a reformat, luckily I backed up the card before it crashed. I sent it back to Sandisk they RMA'ed me a second one I'm using now.. going on two weeks no issues so far. I'm thinking maybe there's a bad lot out there?

Has anyone ran into a issue with their sdcard and their Note2?
Last night I used my Note2 with no issues. Woke up this morning and noticed I had a alert message saying that the sdcard had been unexpectedly unmounted. Couldnt get the sdcard to remount. The phone wouldn't/couldnt reconize thw sdcard. And even my laptop couldn't reconize it. But the phone reconized a different sdcard, so I know the phone reader is still working. But this is a Lexar 64gb class 10 xc sdcard. Not some cheap trash. I lost my nandroid backups, movies, pics, etc....
Just glad I wasn't running the Jellybeans v18 on the sdcard swap selection. Then I wouldn't be able to use my phone period. Lmk if you have seen these sdcards go out before. Just beware!!!

What he's referring to is JellyBeans additional "SD Swap" feature which basically makes your phone see your SD Card as the internal storage. I don't know why he thinks his phone wouldn't work though, as with any phone the Internal Storage/SD Card is not required for the device to operate.

I've ran into this issue with Lexar jump drives and had to use command prompt in W7 to make them work again. It always happened when I would write a Linux distro to the drive to use as a bootable disk.
The fix requires you completely wiping the drive, which the two jump drives in question that I always have issues with are actually micro SD card readers with whatever size card in them.
Here is the link explaining how to fix it:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/219693/unable-to-format-usb-stick-to-full-capacity/
What I have to do though is select the disk drive and once in it I have to use the Create Partition Primary command instead of selecting a partition because on my drives there are no partitions and it won't even show up under Computer most of the time. Give it a shot and see if it gets you back up and running, if not you may have a faulty card that Lexar needs to replace.

See I've never experienced any issues with either of my SanDisk 64 GB Class 10 and neither has anyone else I know that owns one. I wonder if they had a bad batch?
I haven't seen anything about other manufacturers 64GB Class 10 cards having issues yet but it is either something to do with Class 10 cards or a bad batch.

I just had a sandisk 32 gig class 10, and a 16 gig both go out on the same day. One in my wife's note 2, the other in my daughters tab2. Neither was recognised in windows completely. I reformatted both, but 16 gig will show blank card on the wife's phone until unmounted remounted. Both less than 6 months old, on the same day. I blame the solar flares, what else can I blame it on?

How do you go about doing this? I have no original paperwork or packaging, just a dead 32GB Sandisk card.
call 1-866-SANDISK (726-3475) and tell them about your problems they will ask for the numbers off the card. They make you send your to them first then when they recieve it they'll send you a new one.

My Phone started to make me angry the last 3 days. I have this little problem, I always get a warning "SD Card has been removed". But the thing is I dont pull the Card out or anything. I tried to turn off the Phone take the SD out and put it back in, It worked for 1 Day, and today the same happend again. To make the SD Card work again, I have to pull it out and put it back in - that gets pretty annoying.
Anyone of you guys have the same issue? What do you think could this be? An Phone Issue or maybe my SD is damaged?

My GS4 has froze twice in the past week.
A damaged icon for the SD card pops up when it does it.
My OtterBox isn't easy to get off, and I'm tired of having to pull the battery.
All my data is still on the SD card when I restart the phone.
I use SD Maid to keep everything clean, and I've stopped a bunch of unnecessary apps
from running.
No apps are installed on the card.
I was going to move most of my apps to the SD with FolderMount, but I'm kind of leery now.
Is my SD card bad?
Could it be a battery problem?
I've noticed that the phone gets kinda warm when playing games.
What do you guys think?
