[Q] Is there a way to swap internal and external storage - HTC EVO 3D

I found in it can be done on some devices. If we can also do it on evo 3D, we can avoid keep moving apps to sd card.

The Evo 3d has no internal sd card the swap with an external sd card but I am working out a way to put the data partition in SD card

Cool! It is so exciting.
I just tried 4.4. It works great on evo 3D.

[Q] Android file system with SD vs no SD

I'm coming from a phone with very low internal memory to one with 16GB. My question is around all the app data and where it would go in a phone with 16gb internal memory and not SD card.
Reason I ask is I would love to have all my apps stored internally and use my SD card mostly for music/pics..
Would this work or will apps put data in the SD if one is present.
another question would be what would happen if I have no SD card for a while, then I introduce the SD card..
All the data would be kept on the internal storage, which would be seen as a internal memory stick. If you put a microSD card in then it will store some data on the SD card but you could move it back by going to settings>applications>manage applications>on sd card

HP Touchpad SD Card

Been reading up on putting CM on the touchpad and the likes (I don't have one yet, picking it up on Friday) and people are saying to install from sd card and someone in a video showing a rom said that his gallery picked up images from his sd card...does this have an SD card slot? Cause I read that it didn't...or does it just treat the internal memory as SD card?
Thanks,
Niall
No it doesn't have an SD card slot. The only storage it has is the internal memory of either 16/32/64 gb. Yes, cm team treats this internal memory as the SD card.

No SD card slot. It's internal memory as you suspected. Android labels the folder sd card.
It's a good buy if you get it cheap. Enjoyable to hack. Have fun with it!

SD Card Read Time

Just a question i took the sd card out of my 3d and placed it into this phone and now when I mount to PC is is so slow tha tit normally crashes windows explorer before it loads the contents of the sd card. Anyone know any fixes or anything its terribly frustrating when trying to place roms on the sd card.
You probably need to reformat the sd card within the EVO LTE. That said, it sounds like you already have stuff on the sd card. So I would suggest putting the sd card back in your EVO 3D transferring your files to your PC. Then put the sd card in your EVO LTE, reformat it there, then load your files back on to your sd card from your PC. That's what I had to do when transferring my sd card from my old EVO 4G.

yea ill give that a shot thats about the only thing i saw a few others saying on other forums. other than the nand i made last night there is nothing i need on this card anyways.
EDIT
told it to format and it just sits there ....says formatting but no progress is made

Is Formatting the External SdCard OK?

I recently upgraded from the Sensation 4g. I had a lot of files on the SdCard when i put it into my shiny new GS3 Tmo. Does the recovery flash to the externel or internel sd card? and if internel, can i format the SdCard with no issues? Thank you.
Its on the internal memory
I believe that the internal SD card is partitioned so its fine to format both

[Q] External Storage

My wife bought herself Desire X and I found a strange problem. Although internal storage has 1GB free space, DropBox and other apps still insist that an external storage card has to be inserted. Why is that so?

I have a 4 gig card in the phone, but i tried Drop Box, and once you have got around the yadda yadda its a breeze.
I have been thinking about this phone compared to others that have extra storage 60gigs etc.
What happens if you loose the phone, all that info on all the cards are lost.
So an external type storage, might not be a bad idea.
It seems those apps need to be installed on external sdcard
And my problem is "app2sd"
At just can move apps to external sdcard, but my internal sdcard still have 0.9GB free, and I want to move apps to internal sdcard,is there any method to do?

but that does not make any sense. So this phone is kinda useless if you don't have an external SDCARD? My Nexus phone also doesn't have external card and there are no such problems.
Also don't get this, move apps to sd but moves apps to external sd card it's strange I can't install to the internal memory, anyone know how ?

Your neXus phone hasn't an sd card. It relies on the internal storage only...
