First of all you need to unlock bootloader and for that you need to have access to a computer.
After that, you need to flash a custom recovery using adb, and I guess you still need a computer for that.
Once, the above 2 steps are done, you can flash supersu using mobile.

Step one: You need to root your phone
Step two: buy Root Explorer and install it on your phone.
Step three: Install Xrecovery
Step four: Download a custom rom of you choice, copy it to your SD card,
Step five: Reboot phone and go to Xrecovery. Choose the file and flash it.
Just a fast explanation. Check the faq posted above my post.

If you have installed CWM (which you really should as this is your pathway to all the modding and custom roms).
Then you can flash via CWM this tiny root package.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159572
would you please help me installing CWM?
All you gotta do is download it off the market and let it install.

Do not install the one off the market, it can't wipe data properly, doesn't support external SD card and might have other bugs.
Use the lastest CWM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138541
Which would be : latest: recovery-en-goapk-0625-2034.zip
Use instructions from here, they are very straightforward:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600
The instructions you need start with "INSTALL CWM RECOVERY:"
installing CWM needs root?!
step 3:
3) Use *Root Explorer* or some other file explorer app to navigate to: /system/etc. Look and see if there is a file there named "install_recovery.sh" If it is there, then delete it. If it is not, then you are ok to proceed to the next step
i want CWM to rooting my phone!

For now, you can just navigate to that folder and check if "install_recovery.sh" is there. If it's not there, then you don't need to do this step.

The Root explorer app bypasses non rooted phones. Don't worry I thought the same thing you did. Just buy the app. Its worth it anyways.

Did you already tried the MTK droid tools?
I can help you... I rooted the 4030E and helped others how to do it. Basically every MTK device (the motherboard alcatel is using) will be rooted using the trick I did with the help of some other devs here...

Don't use this method, once you install that root tool it spams your computer with random programs and opens them randomly, it installed 10+ programs on my pc within minuets... I was able to stop them and uninstall all, I am now doing a clean wipe with 3 programs and also scanning with my antivirus, be warned.

Works great thanks. I like the flash method because you don't even have to root your phone to do it. That is really nice when you have a corporate email setup that restricts rooting of the phone. Another nice thing is that you can flash from a USB stick which is nice since my internal SD card is encrypted due to corporate email also.

How did you manage to flash it without root?
If you have an unlocked bootloader then you can just fastboot the recovery and flash the zip. No root app required.

Gotcha. I suppose I should have looked at your signature. Ha
Will you have a version for 24.3.7 or will this one work?
TIA
Mike
It looks like he just added 3 lines in the build.prop. I'll try it tomorrow and if it works I'll post it.

I just updated the build.prop files for the latest build. Actually had to add three lines for it to work. I tried the flash method on my phone and it worked just fine. Topsnake no longer has a droid maxx and gave me permission to post these.
visual voicemail problem with this mod?
Have anyone had problems with visual voicemail asking you to setup every day after doing this mod?
Anybody getting prompted for the lollypop update? I'm running topsnakes 4.4.4 and the update is rolling out for the Moto X so... I'm sure it won't just update through ota but I'm wondering if anybody is working on the port for the maxx

[MOTOROLA ONE] About Multi-user increase over 5 accounts without rooting

Hello guys, im facing this problem and maybe u all can help me,
actually i got motorola one (not power) and i noticed this function multi-user with up to 5 users isollated. so i wanna increase this number of accounts up to 10, i know its possible, but can i do it without rooting?
or if only rooting is possible, is there a way to unroot 100%? because some apps detect im rooting.
can i acess "build.pro" and edit it without rooting too?
i also own a samsung j7 prime and followed tutorial below and worked very well with a little downsides, its detectable by some apps including banks apps
Any help is welcome
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/how-to/multi-user-samsung-galaxy-j7-j5-t3217939
Step 1. Open FileExplorer (Es file explorer, preferable)
Step 2. Go to "Device"
.
Search for "build.prop"
Edit and add the below string at the end of the editor and save and reboot !
fw.max_users=10
fw.show_multiuserui=1
You'll need root to edit build.prop.

With this method root is needed? is there any tutorial so i can follow your instruction and put it to work? i know how to use adb and insert commands at cmd.
Baseband: M8953_16.15.02.19R DEEN_LATAMDSDS_CUST
Product/Variant: DEEN XT1941-3 64GB PVT1
i found this firmware https://www.getdroidtips.com/motorola-one-android-pie-update/ , this one is the correct for my mobile. can i edit this rom (build.prop) and flash it to work with above 5 users? what you think?
with my searchs i found the pull push command, https://www.**********.com/push-pull-files-android-using-adb-commands/
so basically, run adb look for the build.prop and pull it to adb folder, edit the file into pc to 10 users (fw.max_users=10) save, adb push command and done, reboot? thats right ?
