Tried. Didn't work
Sorry I meant the mode before AP. Where you can select it, among other options. It takes along time to charge. It should work.

Try the method explained by me in this thread.
If you have safestrap installed, boot into that and it should charge as well.

I got this Question Mark symbol when my battery died. I opened the battery door and found the connector(a copper wire strip) coming out of the battery broken. Then replaced it :/

Sounds like that USB/charging circuitry issue we see all the time on here. Clean the usb port in the first instance; with a small dry brush/unused toothbrush, or with a q-tip/cotton bud with some isopropyl alcohol on it.
Might need a trip to Samsung/authorised repairer by the sound of it.
btw it works perfectly while it's off and charging, what's the cause ?
try changing kernal May solve it

No one was calling you stupid, but this can very easily be caused by a dirty usb port on the phone. Cleaning it may help.
No one said anything about a jig, though.
Sry man but this problem is pissing me of for a week now and I can find the solution and my phone is new only two months old I tried every thing but it's just don't work. Now I'm using root box rom 1.6 with fluxi kernel and xxtweeks so there's an option on xxtweeks>system>fuel gauge. I don't know what it means but I think that it has something to do with resetting the battery ,if someone knows more please tell us.Thx

I hear this is semi-antiquated advice (I say semi because I'm not entirely sure that it doesn't help)
but have you tried to charge your battery all the way up and calibrate it?
Also...it seems that you have a voice mail. You should certainly check that, don't want to keep anyone hanging lol

No, so I will. BTW that voicemail is just a whole bunch of people talking in the background, must be an accident.

Here is a link to the app I use (although there are others ofc):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsImNvbS5uZW1hLmJhdHRlcnljYWxpYnJhdGlvbiJd
Charge to 100% and while still plugged, open the app grant root and calibrate. Then you want to use your phone until its at around 5% battery and charge it all the way back up to 100% before using it and then you should be good. If not, then we can look into other alternatives ^^

Do you use Siyah kernel? This is a known bug on the latest version, the battery charge normally but the charging animation is broken.
Yeah I am using that kernel, no fix for it at the moment then?

I believe the new version, 1.5.1, fixes this. But notice that this is only a display issue: the battery is charging normally, just the animation that doesn't work.
Is there some mod which can turn off the charge indication at night, or at least limit it's brightness? I like to sleep in total darkness, so I really don't like that my XS is lightning up the whole bedroom at night when its charging. Anyone knows a solution for this problem that doesn't involve putting sticker on the indicator?
You mena on red led?If that so just turn your phone on the other side so led faces surface where your phone is.No trouble anymore....

Yeah... great answers guys, especially for someone who bought a cradle for the phone.
I wouldn't ask this question on this forum if I didn't want the solution to be software related. So once again, is there a mod or an app that can turn off the charge indication at night, or at least limit it's brightness?
have you tried LightFlow?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...htflowlite&feature=more_from_developer#?t=W10.
It may work if you are rooted and run it in direct mode.
I've not tried it as I just turn my phone over lol.

Why does this keep popping up and how do I remove it. It pops up every few seconds even when I hit clear. I don't like seeing a battery symbol up there if my battery gets below 30%!
Thanks.
