Hi all,
It's so said to type this topic, yesterday was a really bad day Friday 13th . I replaced /system/etc/hosts file with other file - as usual it's OK. After quit root explorer, I tried to connect to wifi but always fail . After reboot, my venue could not boot, saw the Dell logo only
I'm trying to access this file and change it back with the old one, but fail ... I can enter fastboot but could not do anything
I tried with SD Download from the menu, it run for a while and shown the message like unplug battery ... i could not remember this message because it's so fast, then it change to the the text like factory reset ...., then restarted. And my screen become black and show nothing up to now. I could not turn it on, but when plug the cable, 3 buttons still blinking.
After few days, I found the way to turn in on: Plug the cable, hold power and volume down. If it's ring mode, it came to boot menu and vibration mode it came to fastboot. But still could not do any thing. Tried with some function on boot menu, the power's down althought tried all the way, my venue could not power up
Is there any idea for my Venue Need advises
My phone's HK version
my phone is losing power completely free after 2 days not used: D

Which update have you performed?
2.3.3
2.3.7 (CM7) / (MIUI)?
Try removing the battery,
Try going into recovery
Does it show you the Dell Logo?
I have tried 2.3.7 (CM7)..... The display is not showing any thing except the bottom keys are only blinking if i plug the usb and hold the Turn on switch...
Is my phone is dead???
will dell provide support from service centre..
my ph is in warranty period?????

try flash orther ROM 408
Hello!
A friend of mine has flashed his TF201 with the wrong ROM....he used a ROM for TF300T and the device has bricked...It only shows Asus logo and then it goes blank.
Since I'm not frmilliar with Android in tablets....he said that the tablet is recognised on PC after the power down/volume down keys pressed and then to APX mode. I think that he never used NVflash....
is there any possibility to reflash the device with the correct rom? get the tablet back working?
thank you

Can you get into the bootloader by holding down power and volume down? If so which version? You may be able to flash from a PC using fast boot.
Which ROM did he install?

He said the bootloader version is 10.4.2.18.
when he turns the tablet on it shows BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED, after that asus logo and then black screen. The device is found on PC in APX mode...
any suggestions?

Well APX mode is no use to him if he didn't do an nvflash backup of the necessary files before he updated it. You haven't said if he can actually get into the bootloader or not (has 4 icons after holding down power and volume down for 5 to 10 secs). If not then there is nothing you can do other than send it back to Asus for repairs.

Android L is still in a developer preview, the final source code has not been released yet but once it is someone will likely compile it for the Nook HD+.

Assuming it is not turning on at all, plug it in for about 15 minutes then hold down power for up to 5 minutes. My LG connect did this and it took 2 minutes for the light to bleep and then it started charging. Might not work but worth a try, if it doesn't work you may want to ask this in a more appropriate thread.

power off and connect charger let me know if it shows the charging animation , unfortunately it seems Intel's / Dell's method of hiding how long these devices actually take to boot (to the point its actually booting android ) is by using the splash screen ( which you see even it the boot.img and system.img get corrupt ) as the boot animation this makes it really hard to identify bootloops and corrupt partitions. but if you see the charging animation we at least know the boot.img is intact and we can continue to fixing the device.

not the start up text but we can get the splash screen removed to show the intel inside logo this at least allows you to know when it is actually booting , on mine i added an additional simple splash screen in install-recovery.sh so i see , intel inside , then starting su daemon , then the boot animation ,
though i wanna play with this tonight : http://www.xda-developers.com/android/chainfire-turns-your-bootanimation-into-a-logging-center/

If you use the unbrick ( xsftk loader or any of the other Intel flashing tools that use it ) process to unbrick or early on root / bootloader unlock the process wipes the splash.img from the osip header leaving you with the Intel default Intel inside logo instead of the dell splash screen.

I see no point in installing this version, honestly I can't think of why it was ever made, useless rom, all that is needed is ifwi.zip the rest is garbage. You only need ifwi.zip to unlock your bootloader.
Intel should have only released ifwi.zip, the rest of the stuff is really unless unneeded junk, LOL I never get why companies waste people's time, all they need to do now is release ifwi.zip for Venue 7 then it would also be unlocked.

I guess is a rom image for reinstall the system...
The entire history is...
1.- The intell venue 3830 device is crashed...
2.- One day I push the power button ready to play a game but the device show me an android robot with a red icon and the "sin comandos" legend...
3.- I enter the web in the search of a solution and trying the process:
- a.- hold power button + volume down and choose in the menu the recovery option.
- b.- when the android robot appears hold power button + volume up and choose the wipe data/factory reset option.
- c.- select the reboot system now option.
4.- This entire process should be restore my tablet but nooo!!
Then I have tried to learn what I have to do and I think is needed install a rom just as I do in a PC... format the computer and install an OS = format the tablet and install an android rom...
I´m not sure if is this correct or no but is what I´m trying to do...
