The only issue is that I can use my phone as much as I want without having to worry about it dying while I'm out. On previous phones I had to change my behavior and usage to make it last. Granted I wish it lasted 5 days like my phones did in the 90s, but the trade offs are worth it.
I'm with everyone else what issue 22 hours of battery life for me.
huh.
have no idea what you're talking about.
How are you charging the phone? If you use the OEM charger supplied with the phone, it is taking overnight to get to 80%? Any other charger than OEM, or charging using your computer, is very likely to exhibit the problem you're talking about, but if the problem is with the OEM charger, that's really strange, especially for two devices. Mine takes about 2.5-3 hours for 0 to full using the OEM charger.
heres the thread

A quote from the OP of that thread "It only seemed to charge at a reasonable rate with the stock charger that shipped "
So the issue is that if you use the charger that Samsung provided there is no problem... but when you use some knockoff or charger made for another model phone, then it doesn't charge as quickly? And you want to report to Samsung that these third party chargers don't work as well as the OEM one? If so, I would love to be the person at Samsung responding to that complaint.
Check out the other thread on this topic. It seems they have explained the issue. It's related to a couple of shorted wires in the charger.
My old iPhone cases don't fit on my Note... that's it, I'm calling Samsung!!1

That's what I wanted to find out from this OP. I'm the OP of the linked post, and I'm not complaining at all that 3rd party chargers do not charge as fast as the OEM charger. I was just providing that information. But I'm curious if the OP of this post is using the OEM charger and having issues, or if he/she is using a 3rd party charger, and having issues? No word back from them, so I guess they don't care that much lol.

Unless they changed something last minute, this was posted in response to a question on the GN3 Q&A page on Verizon's website:
Hello sbduce;
There will be a wireless charging door (Qi standard) for the Samsung Note 3 soon after it launches. The door will available for online ordering at www.verizonwireless.com.

It could just be because they don't actually have it listed as a feature. Either way, we'll find out in a week!

If you're concerned about overnight charging, don't be. Wireless charging your phone overnight is basically the best use for wireless charging. If you're looking for a quick boost in power, you might be better off going with a good ol' USB cable. Each has their own pros/cons.
If you use your phone often, usb may be better, if you like to put your phone down, wireless charging may be better.

My main concern is only that in 6-8 hours of being on the wireless charger, will i have a full charge in the morning if i most likely am close to a dead battery by the end of the night? i can always plug it back in for 2 hours at my office on the usb3 into a wall and make extra sure i have a full charge before heading to the field at 1, which i wont have access to a charger until 9 or 10 pm. also curious if the wireless charging plate will work through the otterbox defender?

I loved wireless charging on my S3. I sit at a desk most of the day and run out into the shop every 20-30 minutes for something. I loved being able to set my phone on the desk and keep the battery topped off without added stress to the charging port by plugging it in and unplugging it all the time. I'm not sure if I'll go to wireless charging on the Note 3 since it add's a little thickness to the phone and makes it harder to find a case that fits. I'll make that decision later.

I bought the wireless charging strip for my s4 9$ on amazon worked with the stock battery and back. But its too slow and requires I put the phone down for long periods of time so I just got extended batteries and swap them out every couple days. I imagine the note 3 will be the same deal

Where I use it
After trying various uses for the charging pad, I ultimately went with using it at work near my desk. It really doesn't add much more convenience in situation where you are going to be setting the phone down once and charging it for a while, like overnight on your nightstand. The real benefit is in a place where you would be picking the phone up and down a lot. I had the usb cord at my desk but I used to often forget to plug it back in when I would get back to my desk, even though i would set it down right near the cord. Now I just set it down on the pad and I rarely leave work at the end of the day with less than a full charge.

Yes I am , thank you, cause the slow charge issue was elaborated and mentioned so many time around XDA but seems no one cares to search and read.
This phone with and with original charger, and AFTER teh update from Gingerbread to ICS/JB is charging as per specs. On Gingerbread there was a flaw that permitted to charge it upto 900-1000 mA but the phone was rather hot, I recall charging mine in an hour and a half or 15-20 minutes more, from 2-3% to 100% back when phone had GingerBread.

You can use 2.1A output chargers too, it is simply not going to draw all that but you might get the better on the go recharging while you're using the phone with heavy apps. Just think of the dual car chargers - they have both 1A (phone) and 2.1A (tablet) output. SatNav on 1A is zeroing or still draining your phone battery, while 2A can slowly charge it on the go.
You just give it a needed juice and if the discharge is so greater then recharge, there's not much you can do about it.
Call it a flaw, but Samsung did it cause of longevity of their batteries and li-ion technology.
That is why I indicated iCrap and BB - their fast charge is provoking rather fast discharge too cause the battery will not hold it. I have colleagues with BB who're charging in an hour but get their phones depleted in 3 hours of usage... I wouldn't want that from my S2 for sure. :good:

It doesn't matter what the output current of the charger is... the phone will only draw 650mA.
The charger I got with my S2 delivers 1A but my phone only draws 650mA. Actually the hardware doesn't support it.
IMO, 3hrs is pretty fast for a full charge.
Edit: Just noticed that Fevves already mentioned all that...

Some kernels have the Option to change the charge rate but even at 650mA the phone will get very hot if you are doing something on it while charging

Disable Q-Charge

Hello Guys, i want to know to know if i can Turn off Fast charging - because i want to have a longer Battery Life,
Also i know that IT IS Kernel related and also i could Change the Adapter too..
I Just want to know if there is a way to turn it of Kernel wise.
Why would you want that? It's only charging fast 0-50%, later on it slows down. If you really want to save battery, charge it as often (and short) as possible. If you needed to charge it quickly, you'd regret crippling the charging speed.

Exactly. Silly to turn it off. It's a benefit.
But if you really don't want to use it, just don't use a Quick Charger plug. Get some "normal" charger plug like for a flip phone.
We have tons of people asking why is my phone not quick charging (usually because it's in the last 20%, where it doesn't charge as fast), and instead you want to cripple that feature?
Or people ask why does this phone have QuickCharge 2.0 charger instead of QuickCharge 3.0 charger?
But you want NO QuickCharge. OK.
Just don't use a QuickCharge chargers. You can get "regular" chargers on eBay for like $2 or $3, because no one else wants them. Even QuickCharge are only about $5 if you know where to look, but you don't want those.

I only need quick charge when I'm in a hurry. When I'm at home I have two phones and would want to load my V30 slowly, so that the battery can Last really long. what does it matter to me if my mobile phone charges up very quickly but loses its capacity over time?
an option to de-activate Q-Charge if you need it or not would be optimal for me
You can always use Qi wireless charging pads for slow charging, then plug in when you need QuickCharge.
Plus there's tons, hundreds, of inexpensive "regular" plug chargers on eBay or other online sites.
To be honest, in my opinion I don't think a dev is going to waste time trying to disable something that is useful and everyone wants. People complain when they aren't QuickCharging, not when they are.
Plus, that would be so hard to track down if someone accidentally disabled QuickCharge.

When asked questions, I try to give facts as I know them.
Sometimes I give my fact-based opinion.
Sometimes I just give my opinion, based on experience.
Point is, messing with Android for the past 8 years, I've found...
Not everything an OEM does is smart. Like removing headset jacks or making batteries smaller.
Not everything users ask for is smart. I remember a few years ago on Nexus 5 (which had a too small battery) one user kept asking how to REMOVE the battery indicator from the status bar on an AOSP ROM. They didn't want to see battery percentage whatsoever in the status bar, and were quite adamant about it to developers. I guess so they could be TOTALLY SURPRISED when their phone suddenly died? I don't know. It didn't make any sense.

The 45w should speed up 0-50/70% but if over all it's only speeding up 0-100% bynsay 5 minutes then it will not be saving a lot of time 0-70 either (as both should charge at similar speeds 70-100%).

Yeah from what I briefly read it needs over 100w to be effective and 130-140w is optimal. 60w is the least it will even accept a charge from. Shucks I'll maybe try it for fun but doesn't sound promising lol

I've used my 45w Lenovo Laptop USB C charger before, and it works just fine... not a major charging speed difference though.
A question to a question. The Note 10 used USB-PD PPS? I thought the S20s were the first to have this. Or were they the first to be certified?
I can confirm this works, got the phone yesterday
