This is a pretty common error and one of the solution is reflash rom or stock.
Then there are others but i dont know of them

Reflashed. problem persists.
Changed rom. Problem persists
Your T3rom didnt have that btw but imho the rom was a bit lag-gy. Only solution seems to be going back to stock and root it manually.

did u turn on seeder on my rom it is one of the necessary apps to remove the lag also enabling xposed and setting the modules helps a lot.
By the way are we talkin about v1 or v2?
flashing roms just repairs the system partition and data partitions while flashing stock from odin repairs everything. So if the root of the problem isnt in those 2 partitions flashing a rom wont solve the problem

Yep! In context of V2, did all. Enabled seeder. Enabled modules preinstalled. Used some of my other tricks to speed up. Tweaked some minfree values. Pretty much did everything and then silently moved to this rom.
And about the flashing, i pretty much flashed my phone clear of everything. Including wiping partitions. Even formatting sdcard in process turning the device into a piece of slab with just CWM and then using adb sideloading to flash the roms. Did it thrice (if i recollect correctly).
I think it must be an issue of mount points. Again i am not much of a developer to correct those or guess/point out the issue correctly.

i Dunno about others but anything except pure graphics hd slowed my phone and made it stutter (but it did increase benchmark)
so it may be that or maybe just a few mods interfering...
btw after flashing stock using odin did that problem get solved?
(also my rom doesnt work as it is supposed in s5280 but urs is s5282 right? if so dont mind this line)

I have s5282.
Yes clean flashing stock rom(via recovery and Odin both ways) does not have the issue.
Mods helped in overcoming lags. I think the OOM and low free ram condition was the culprit. Minfree didn't help.
I would love to go back to the rom and find the exact reason one day.

I do not think that it is kernel problem because I have used francisisco kernel from v9 to v14.2.2
First I thought that problem starts if I charge my mobile to 100%,now I feels that it happens when battery gets heated up and some sweat from ears touched the screen. But,these are my assumptions.
try doing a clean flash again and dont install anything for sometime and test it..

sounds like a hardware problem you might have to send the phone in dont worry about the rooted and ROM maybe reflash the original ROM but its not a big deal especially if your with tmobile in america i have sent 2 phones back rooted and with roms on them i could be wrong though so do a lil research there might be a fix

Yes,I wipe all the data, before installing custom or stock rom.
I install 10b stock version and use zroot to root it.
Then, with the help of ADB i install custom recovery
Flash stock 2.2.1 and root with gingerbreak. Use terminal emulator to flash custom recovery..

Hello to all...
First and foremost... I have been a long time xda site viewer and today is the first time I have registered to xda and bought the xda premium app to support this wonderful site.
I know the first rule is to search for answers, i tried searching but couldn't find it. Mine is a peculiar question that I hope can be resolved.
I have flashed my i9100 at least 50 over times. Flashing addict, you can say. Custom and stock roms. My typical routine is to do a full wipe:
1) remove sim and external sd, format usb storage under settings
2) enter cwm, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik.
3) mount sd card, data, system...and format each of them
4) flash stock rom (KI3, 3 files version and repartition with. Pit). Repartition for a proper clean flash. I know some may disagree, so i have tried without it too.
5) flash cf-root, copy custom rom and perform steps 1-3 again. Except for wiping sdcard for obvious reasons.
6) flash custom rom and reboot, allowing 10 mins for software to sync in fully.
7) flash custom kernel of choice, current favourite being Neak kernel.
I have done this so many times i believe its the best to gauge the full potential of the custom rom, including battery life. I am really obsessive,. But I am patient enough.
However i just so happened to notice recently that after stock flash, i.e. After step 4 with stock kernel, i tried sliding the status bar for the brightness adjusting. To my surprise it works. Now that is not suppose to be the case. Especially after i have performed complete albeit unnecessary wipes. Someone please explain this phenomenon. Is the custom kernels 'hard encoding' our sgs2? If not is there another method of reformat that completely cleans your phone? I even tried ultimate Samsung cleaning script. Same thing.
Sorry for the long read. But I wanted to highlight this issue clearly for the experts here to discuss.

Hello, Before flashing any other kernel, please flash the Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script, thats found here.. : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363738&highlight=ultimate+kernel+cleaning+script
hope this solves your problem!
Thanks mate... I have tried it. But let me try it again with latest version. Which is better? Ultimate Samsung cleaning script or gblitz version?

As long as you do one or the other .
But even without using a kernel x should overwrite kernel b .

Great, but i do believe for the need for a proper kernel cleaning before installing a new kernel. As clearly illustrated by my example here. Funnily enough not many developers have picked up on this. Android is sure complicated in the hands of the experienced and noobs alike.

At least two kernel cleaners posted here for a very rarely posted problem that is usuall the user not following instructions .
Kernel cleaner is not required in normal use .
Flash kernel and it changes .
Use kernel cleaner is really to make sure none of the advanced settings remain otherwise not required and i would only use if changing custom kernels .My kernel count must be over 200 by now .
Android is sure complicated in the hands of the experienced and noobs alike.
Yep what is required is more FAQS and Guides for nobody to read .
jje
I thought so too, i normally use kernel cleaning scripts when i change roms or kernels. It's just that, sometimes i do not cause not many people here seem to talk about it.
I have yet to try it and reconfirm this theory of needing kernel cleaning scripts before flashing new roms with different kernels. Once I try it out, soon, i will post again. Then i think, developers out there should pick this up as part of their recommended steps for a full wipe or rather clean flash of a new kernel, esp if changing kernel.
Keep you guys posted... Thanks jje

Hi guys,
Just to update anyone who has been reading this previously...
I have just reflashed to stock xwla4, the frankenstein version, i.e, stock kernel. With clean wipe/format, whatever you wanna call it, and still same results. Old kernel behaviour still present, i.e. Brightness adjustment via sliding status bar still present. I even reflashed a good 3 times with same stock rom, xwla4 (2times) and ki3. Also before each flash i also used ultimate Samsung cleaning script and the gblitz version. Still same issue. Can someone explain what is happening?
In case you are wondering, this is not a complaint thread but a hobby for to troubleshoot problems with our dear sgs2. So that we can all learn.
Thanks... Jk

I'm a bit at a loss... why are you are NOT expecting this? I am on stock XXKI3 (2.3.5), and have never flashed anything newer, or a custom ROM. I've always had this behavior of adjusting the brightness via the status bar. As far as I know, I had it when I was on XWKE7 (2.3.3) as well.

Ok so i am noob with Samsung and dealing with flashing and all these stuff, i just switched from iPhone to Galaxy S3 GT-I9300, i have read so many posts and watched so many videos, all what i want is some clarification
1* I have managed to download CM 9.0.0 for my phone and installed it through ROM Manager , i have noticed that my Data service is not working, am living in Kuwait "Middle East" the wifi is working fine no issues and i enabled the Data Service through the settings, how can i fix the issues with the data plan although it is working fine after i restored to my stock ROM
2*Can u tell me what the use of the Odin except rooting and installing a stock Firmware ?
3* correct me if i am wrong but the ROM will only do some sort of interface for the phone , as we say in IT "GUI" of course not to forget to mention the speed and tweaks for hardware of the device it self, i mean it is not a complete OS "Firmware" mostly GUI with Tweaks.
4*While doing the installation of the ROM and remove it and getting back to my stock ROM , nothing from my data has been changed, does that means every time i install any ROM and get back to the old one my data will not be effected on the stock ROM?
5* what would happen if i tried to install a ROM not compatible with the firmware i have ? and how would i fix that ?
6*How can i tell if the ROM is compatible with the firmware i have? , for example in my case i downloaded CM 9.0.0 for my S3 which has 4.0.4 firmware
7* I have understand that the ROM must be compatible with my phone version , what i mean with version like International version or US carriers versions, am i Right?
Am sorry asking too many questions,I tried my best to make the questions with yes or no answer, and incase you would like to write more please do
answering me those questions will help me alot, i have been reading so many posts and it is making me go insane
Thanks so much in advance

i tried wanam XXEMD3 and stock deoxded XXEMD3 with Googy-Max 1.4.6 kernel
i don't think its problem of kernel because i used it on XXEMD2 which is all fine.
today i flashed wanam XXEMD3 and when i running setup and connecting WIFI it keeps reports "Authentication error" or something , i think that's translation.
i thought it could be problem of ROM , and then tried stock deoxded XXEMD3, same , i figure maybe WIFI password i typed wrong ? although it's highly unlikely
and then i restored back to XXEMD2 with recovery , WI-FI works all fine ...
any idea ?
You should look for a wifi fix for your kernel or your ROM. This should to it. If there isn't any you should go to support of kernel or ROM. They should be able to fix this if no wifi Dix patch exists

- I can't restore my last ROM from clockworkrecovery
- my windows doesn't reconize the phone, i tryed different drivers/samsung kies and so on, but nothing worked, i keep getting this
my phone is currently in downloading mode and i got everything sorted (odin3 v1.85, PDA etc) but i can't get to it... Any help will be appericiated, thanks in advance.
Here is a pic:

EDIT: I fixed it by putting the usb cabel when the phone is not turned off, weird... anyway i tryed flashing CyanogenMod again and i bricked it again lol, i did evrything just like the guy on the video, any suggestions?
Do these
1.Search for Multiformater Tool (Link is broken in that Op so go to.last post some had reuploaded)
2.Goto CWM and then flash that zip in that zip.choose Format data all to RFS 2nd Option
3.And then Goto Stock Recovery (Red one) Do wipe data/cache
4.Now you can Restore your Backup of Custom Rom
5.Thats it if you want to goto CM7.2 Then just Follow beil's video After Doing Wipe data /cache in Stock recovery
Thats it

Actually he said suggest, not which is the best so it's OK.
You can try Touchwiz Resurrection if you like TouchWiz UI and also smoothness. But if you like Holo you can go for Cosmic v2 for simplicity or AceJB.

So far, our phones can't be hard bricked by installing our ROMs or kernels. Phone can be hard bricked when you use ROM Manager or when you install other roms of different devices.
