i have tried everything I can think of to get my watch to connect to computer. but still yellow triangle on device manager. anyone have any tips on getting it to work. I am using windows 8.1 at work and vista at home. i rooted LG g3 with ease
Go to manager and then device manager. Then click on the device and manually update the drivers you should be able to pick a driver. Find on that says android adb and install it. then see if it works fine not then try another adb driver. I have a bunch on my computer from all the devices I have. Also have you tried my driver install it is part of this tool.

Hi,
I updated my LG E400's firmware from 10J to 10L last with PC Sync. After upgrading the root was still intact. SuperUser still installed, though I had to install Lucky Patcher and had to select Patch to Android for the Android Market again. However, when I tapped About phone in Settings, there was an error and a force close. I looked up the LG firmware site and downloaded the 10L firmware and updated with KDZ updater. The problem started right after that.
I have not been able to root with any ninja script, doomlord script, superoneclick. I have tried reverting to an older firmware (the original version 10J cannot be downloaded) 10D or 10I I think, but got the same error while trying to root. Finally, I tried the "without computer" means of rooting like framaroot and Exynosabuse but none worked. So here I have a fine phone with the latest firmware but with all crap like the LG Keyboard and Google Search, Remote Talk, Play Book, Weather and stuff that I can't get rid off. Also, I can't install Link2SD to increase internal memory. Any suggestions??

Sam

Do you have L3 I or L3 II ?
You may choose Firmware from LG Optimus Firmwares
And rebuild it.

✚ BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
✜ Rooting voids the warranty of the device. However, you can restore the warranty by unrooting the device.
✚ The following procedure works on Windows based PCs only.

✚ ROOTING THE LG OPTIMUS L3 E400:
1. Download and place the Root Package archive on your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the archive to your Desktop.
3. Enable the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.
4. Connect the device to your PC via USB cable.
5. Double-click on the run.bat file you extracted from the archive.
6. It should start rooting the device.
7. Once done, disconnect the device from your PC.
8. And you’re rooted now!

Unable to root phone after firmware update
Ok..Update my friend..The tool that you had provided was already tried by me. I had LG drivers version 3.10 whereas your link gave me the LG drivers version 3.7. Anyway, I thought maybe a previous version of the drivers will work and uninstalled the updated drivers and installed your drivers. But I get the same error. My phone is getting detected fine by the computer. I think this is something more complex. Let me know if you know anything more than what is already out there from Rootlord, Ninja site, framastor, gingerbreak. Nothing has worked so far. I have even tried degrading the firmware version to 10D but even that did not work so I flashed the current version 10L again.

Sam.

Hi Azithro,
Oh, I've been so stupid. The answer was staring at my face. I have tried all the tools you have mentioned above (maybe not the last one) but finally I realized that the solution is much simpler than that. I simply ran the spectrum rooting software for LG E400 as Administrator in my Win 7 PC and the phone was rooted in 2 mins. After fighting for root from last Friday, the easy solution almost made me fall off my chair. Stay well bro and keep helping like you do.

hi i am facing the same problem but even running as administrator is not helping!
To root your mediapad, head over to :
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620655
Hey world
I'm creating this thread so as to help most of you techies with a mediapad 7 better exploit its features
Disclaimer 1
Most tips I provide will require root
If you haven't rooted yet, head over to the link above for a how to.
Disclaimer 2
As always, anything that does ao does not happen to your device, whether as a result of your following this thread or not, is entirely your fault, and neither i nor any other parties but yourself carry any blame.
Now thats done, let's get on with it
(Forgive the lack of pretty formatting, posting from the tab)
Tip Number One: Install xposed framework, terminal emulator and Android tuner/ROM toolbox pro
For those of you who have already done this, you will agree as to how important these apps are for any modding done to an android without flashing a custom ROM or kernel.
For xposed, go here and follow the instructions:
http://www.addictivetips.com/android/what-is-xposed-framework-for-android-how-to-install-it-guide/
You can find the terminal emulator app on the play store, and also the android tuner app.
I'll try to update this thread at least once a week, but with school( igcse this year) and a spotty internet connection, don't hold me to my word too much.
Till next week, hopefully.
i have this device sir, is xposed installer compatible? how to flash back stock firmware just in case? is there a working clock work mod recovery for us? how to enter recovery by the way? thanks and more power.
PS. i've rooted my mediapad by VROOT+SuperSu.ak method.

Xposed installer is compatible with the device
have been using it for a while now
unfortunately the only way to recover is to update using the stock firmware from the huawei site
clockworkmod recovery I'm working on, using the online recovery builder. will start a new thread for that
and the only recovery this device currently has is not like clockworkmod but more like download mode.
I've checked
Some More Apps
More root apps for you
Try
1. Lucky patcher : For patching all your apps
http://lucky-patcher.netbew.com/
2. Videoder : For Downloading videos off the internet, including YouTube
http://videoder.en.uptodown.com/android
3. Shou : For good screen broadcasting or recording.

Sorry for the lack of a comprehensive guide
Will get to that soon.

Update: It not work... the recovery image isn't signed and the bootloader lockit. to make it work we need huawei crc key sign, or wait for huawei release the opensource firmware for s7-701u...
That's very true, and I've emailed them to that very effect
Kris the wizz 15 says: "I can't seem to get fastboot configured, or boot the device in bootloader. Fastboot commands therefore do not work.
Any advice on this? I'd appreciate it. "

You can't go to fastboot in the s7-701u beacouse it CPU is a rockchip rk3168. and Rockchip have his own "fastboot" method, by the way huawei is locking this method...
i has been conected via Rkdownload mode usin "Fashtool" "RkTool" and "RkFlashKit"software but nothing really work except to dump partitions on pc disk.
Rkdownload mode do not use "fastboot" command, and beacouse this we can't unlock the bootloader.
:crying:
More information about this here
PD: To have future custom rom for our device, we really need huawei release s7-701u open source code firmware.

Flash stock rom for Lava iris X1
Hi Nitesh,
I followed steps as mentioned except that I used adb sideload update.zip ( containing all img files which are there in step (1.)).
I also made change in android_winsub.inf so that my phone is recognized. My phone appeared as Android composite ADB interface) in drivers list of my Win 7 machine.
I had applied jun 20th update sent by lava through OTA sometime in July 14. Recently using Kingo root, I was able to root this. But I saw some issues after that. After rooting I had uninstalled some original apps. Afterwards, I saw two issues in my phone:
(a.) Home key is not functioning and
(b.) pull down bar setting is also not working.
When I came to recovery mode and used update from adb, I typed adb devices and I saw a string of letters and numbers which means that my lava iris X1 was recognized and ADB driver was fine. Afterwards, when I used adb update.zip, command prompt did show that full 100% happened. After that I rebooted my phone and found out that June 20 th update is still there and downgrade did not happen at all.
I tried above many times and still I don't see any difference. :crying:
Can you please let me know what is going wrong since all steps seem to be fine.
Thanks a lot in advance.

I am attaching screen shot of my mobile's current firmware.
Basically it is 20th June 14 version.
The stock original firmware which I tried to flash was downloaded form googledrive bearing date of 9th March 2014.
I guess that is the original firmware.

Hello!
First post here!
I just revived a Cubot Note S and am pretty happy with the performance.
I've searched around for a while and am unable to root the device, I've seen one other post on XDA regarding a successful Root on 5.1 but am unable to find any information on how this is achieved.
I've tried Kingo, King and Root Genius with USB Debugging an OEM Unlock enabled.
If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great,
Thank you
Sorry, don't have any kind of solution but I just wanted to say I'm in the exact same boat as you. Been trying to root my Cubot for days.
Good News!
Aftee alot of digging and flashing several recoveries I have successfully rooted the Cubot Note S.
Ill put a simple guide here to help:
Its your responsibility what happens to your phone, Mine works flawlessly, but be careful out there!
Requirements:
Cubot note S on 5.1 Lollipop
Smart Phone Flash Tool & MTK Scatter file (for the cubot) & Super SU.zip
buzztechnica.com/2016/03/how-to-root-and-install-twrp-recovery.html?m=
In the first paragraph is a download link. Download the rar and extract it. All you need is the Smart Phone Flash tool and the MT scatter.txt. THE RECOVERY IN THIS DOES NOT WORK!
Modified TWRP recovery (there is omly one that works!
android-hilfe.de/thema/root-und-twrp-fuer-cubot-note-s.753414/page-2 << Post number 37 has the Mega link to the working recovery.img file
MTK VCOM drivers
spflashtool.com
Look for link that says "Download MediaTek VCOM Drivers" get the self installer package.
About recoveries,
Make sure you use the Modified one and not any other. The bundled one in the FlashTool and the other 3 floating in the internet do not work as they do not register touches. These are useless.
Okay, so now you have the files i would create a new folder with everything you need. So thats the Flash tool, scatter file and the modified TWRP recovery and phone drivers.
Before you start. Copy the SuperSU zip to your phone somewhere. Also enable USB Debugging in the developer options. Finally TURN OFF YOUR PHONE. i.e hold power, power off. Dont plug your phone into the computer yet
On your computer install the VCOM drivers first. Now to get the drivers installed I had to modify the batch file to work on Win10. If your on Win10. Right click the install batch file and edit. Remove all the lines regarding the OS check and save and run the installer. A command window will notify of the install success
open the Flash tool. Now, the second box asks you to select a scatter file. Select the one you have.
Ensure the dropdown box is selected to Dowload Only.
Ensure that ONLY recovery is ticked, you dont wanna flash anything else accidently!
To summarise... now, you should have super su.zip on your phone. Smart phone flash tool setup with the scatter file and custom recovery loaded. Your ready to flash!
Before plugging your phone in click Download. Now plug your phone in. And you will see it will flash. Should take a few seconds youll see a bar going along the screen. A box will pop up saying download OK!
Now, apparantly your phone is meant to boot without any assistance. Mine did not. So in this case. Unplug from PC. Remove phone battery. Put back in and tey to enter recovery (Pwr + Vol Up) <<< tip, dont hold them in too long as my phone just kept resetting. Hold about half a second while the screen is on then let go
You should now be in twrp recovery. Swipe the notification and proceed to flash the super su zip. Once complete, remove your battery and DONT press restart. It wont work and your phone will freeze.
Put your battery back in and boot normally, you now have custom recovery and Root!!
Enjoy!
Sorry about the links. Im new here. Modify the links and paste in browser
.... or you simply navigate to needrom.com and seek for "Cubot Note S". Then you'll find a working TWRP-recovery for Android 5.1 and even 6.0, a beta ROM for Marshmallow (6.0) and the not yet published ROM from 11-07/2016 for Lollipop (5.1). To flash with SP-Flash-Tool from your Computer.
Cheers!

I tried these, but as stated, all those Recorives did not work due to not recognising the touches. plus, the 5.1 stock ROM is stable, where as the 6.0 is still beta. I'd rather stick with a stable ROM.
6.0 ROM and the 6.0 TWRP may work, but its untested for me. hence why I've targeted 5.1 in my tut
Thanks for the detailed walk through Sparky. I may give it a go but I'm very new to all this so I don't want to get myself into something where I'm not really sure what I'm doing. Either way, thanks for the help

No problem, Its actually quite straight forward once you've found the working files. At least now there is a tutorial on the internet for this phone which is complete and tested
moha u are awesome actually, how the hell did u find out that?
It took me days, i rooted with iroot - woorked, then it unrooted itself, did again, didnt work I Tried millions of different Recovery.img nothing.
Tried urs - works perfektly with 5.1. Does not with 6.0.
But thank u a lot <3 Edit 2: 6.0 works with the img of: http://www.needrom.com/download/cobot-note-s-6-0/
Hi, anyone with success on v.6 / Marshmallow ?

Kingroot works
So I recently bought myself a Nextbook Ares 11A (you can get look at it here: http://www.nextbookusa.com/productdetail.php?product_id=33
For the life of me, I can't figure out how to root it at all. Anyone have an idea how to root it. I have tried King and Kingo root, both PC versions. Vroot/iroot, framaroot apk, and some others that i kinda forgot.
One of the first things I did to this tablet was upgrading its android version to 6.0.1
I think one of the main exploits to use for this would be the firmware update
-quick note. If your having problems with this tablet rebooting by itself re download the android 6.0.1 firmware update and install it again.
Firmware update download: https://goo.gl/Cev80L
Same here. Can't root it. Awesome tablet for the price just $197 for a 11 inch tablet running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Here are my specs. Hope e can find a root soon. Boring without root access. No cool apps without have root.
Netbook Ares 11A
Model# NX1611264
Running Android ver. 6.0.1 Marshmallow
Security patch level 2015-11-01
IFWI ver.

I am so glad some of the community is interested in this.

i installed the update and my tablet doesnt make it all the way through and is stuck on logo screen its the same model as op ..looks like i cant go back in firmware cause the older firmware says bad footer
nextbook ares 11 a
After installing the correct adb/fastboot drivers along with the intel chip usb drivers, i was able to unlock/flash boot.img and bootloader. All i need now is a working twrp_recovery image to finish rooting this tablet and remove encryption. If anyone has a working twrp recovery or knows how to make one based off the rom, then please post it. I would love to have this tablet rooted and non encrypted.

i have the same tablet is there anyway you could send a copy of firmware or the stock recovery @mrspinler
look-up vampiro's work on the ares 8, he has made a twrp that will work, with a mouse connected to the ares 11, the are a few modified roms for the ares 8, including a remix os, that works great, except for touchscreen doesn't work, but touchpad, and attaching a mouse works great

tim i am sorry but i am unable to give a stock recovery seeing as i tried to flash other recovery images. however i would be glad t post the update file but i can't post links yet. The update file is in the very first post, and you have to unzip it onto the sd card to get the tablet to notice it.
If you are familiar with rooting android then perhaps you could provide the stock recovery image so that someone with more programming knowledge can actually make a cwm or twrp recovery from it. The boot.img file is correct as well, which happens to be inside the update file. I know this because i almost bricked my tablet XD.

Have you been able to root this tablet with the ares 8 files? If so then how did you get the recovery.img to work and what about the encryption files? I ask because the ares 8 has the same cpu but it is android 6.0.1 rom versus android 5.0/5.1.

heres the deal i downloaded the update on the first page and always got stuck at like 35 percent tried to flash the recovery from the 11rootkit it didnt work tried from the ares 8 and just get an error screen ive got the tablet unlocked fully and can flash anything in fastboot but no file at all with bring it back ive tried the firmware files and there not in the right format for fastboot the tablet is bricked but can still get into fastboot but no working recovery

if you ever get it done please come back and help us get ares rooted XD
If anyone can manage getting a copy of recovery.img off your tablet, please post it. I will try and make a twrp img with it. Hopefully a dev can pick this up cause I am sort of out of my league atm.
I'm very interested in this endeavor. I have a Ares 11A as well but I'm in desperate need of a stock ROM as mine got trashed by the Marshmallow update. As a result I had to install Win 10 on the device temporarily, but i would like to get it back to the original stock ROM and try again. If that fails, then I'm going to have to build an entirely new ROM (never done this before) based on Android-x86 Marshmallow.
What's really sad is that support for this device is sorely lacking from the vendor(Efun/Yifang). They don't even post a stock ROM on their website (nextbookusa.com) for this device. However, this device is similar to some of the Chinese tablets posted on techtablets.com so I MAY be able to find a stock ROM / drivers there.

Basically, I deleted the Android partitions and reallocated the space a a Windows partition. I got into the device UEFI boot manager by pressing the power + Vol down buttons, then releasing the power button when the Nextbook logo appears, then release the Vol down button. It's a little tricky to get into it but it can be done. Before you attempt to do so you have to get the device into fastboot mode (power+vol up buttons) and unlock the bootloader first. Be advised though that finding Windows 10 drivers will be VERY difficult! It's not for the faint of heart! I went to the techtablets.com website to find the drivers as they specialize in supporting Chinese-made tablets.
As I've stated earlier this is a temp solution. When all is said and done, this will become a dual-boot or multi-boot tablet
this is the only thing i can find but cant get it right http://www.nextbookusa.com/_gendownloads/NX16A11264/update.zip
