I checked out the phone when it came out on AT&T. Call blocking was located right in the call log after long pressing the phone number. Am I missing something or did Verizon remove it? Anyone have any suggestions?

nah I'm VZW and I have it. I had to go looking for it though. It's now in Settings > Sound> Quiet Mode.
Works perfectly too. Just tested it out again to make sure
Originally, I couldn't find it, but then I clicked on the shortcut in my notification pulldown, which brought me to the full menu in settings. From there I set it up, and can now toggle it off/ on with the pulldown shortcut.
So happy this wasn't taken out

Pretty sure the OP is using the Stock messaging app which shows a pop up on the lock screen with an incoming text.

that checks. I am just using the stock app that comes on it
Hmm... I didn't see an option in either the lock screens or the mms.apk to disable that.
EDIT: home screen > menu > settings > privacy
Uncheck the first option.

A good replacement I'm using is "SMS Popup" V1.1.0... Works well and has nice privacy settings.
Just in case you haven't found this yet:
Under the display settings, you can enable weather on the lock screen. I don't ever remember seeing that setting in Touchwiz before. Now I'm wondering if my Skyrocket had it.
Nice i didnt see that. For anyone wanting to tone down the insane haptic feedback you can adjust the vibration intensity under sound settings

The Skyrocket does not have it. Since I use a pin on my GNote I never get to see that unlock screen either but it is cool!

I refuse to use a pin lock for that exact reason. That's one of the things Touchwiz was missing that I really wanted.
The new lock screen on the Note is kind of funky. If you swipe fast, you don't even see an unlock animation. It just unlocks. You'd have to hold your finger on the screen to even see the lock icon.

That is what I used to think till I had a co worker lose her phone. Her life is still screwed up from the punk who found her phone and all the contact info in it.
I use a PIN and SamsungDIVE so can remotely wipe it if I lose it or it gets stolen.

Has anyone been able to make SamsungDive work with the ATT G-Note?
http://www.samsungdive.com
It seems to work on the international version. Samsung Texas support had no clue.
I have registered a Samsung account on line and added the account to my phone as per instructions.
The Remote Controls and Find my Phone functions on the web site are not operational. The instructions for setting up the G-Note have some menu items that are not on my phone.

I got my first Android phone on a Friday. Having a blast with it. But, I've been trying to find out what this is. Can't figure it out. Tried searching for it but can't find it.
It showed up on Saturday and never goes away.

I was thinking Settings too. But why is the icon on the left side, all the time. And how do I remove it?
any chance its a blue half circle? if so its the multiwondow app selector, just hold the back button to make it go away

I've personally never seen it. I also don't have Facebook installed. I would do the suggestion above, or try touching it and see what happens. You may just need to confirm something.
It doesn't go away even after pressing clear notification. I've tried pressing it. Nothing.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Over the weekend I upgraded to Marshmallow, and more or less it is going well. However, yesterday this new icon showed up. Not sure if it is a system icon or an app icon. Thanks.

I'm running your Imperius kernel, and I can't seem to find where to turn it off in the normal settings screens. Googling T-Mobile and Volte shows where to turn it off on other phones, but those settings aren't there on mine. I'll reflash your kernel and see if that fixes it.

Open dialer, tap 3 dots at top, call settings and you'll see the toggle
Kernel is the cause of it showing. Happened on past firmwares too then went away but seems it's back again
I'm using the T-Mobile V30 and I can go into settings or the t-mobile app to activate the mobile hotspot but it's not an option to add a toggle to the pull down (notification panel) menu, does anyone else have this issue or know how to add it?
Yeah ... same here.
I think they are trying to push everyone to use the Tmo app
Yeah, no toggle here either but at least there is still the option to tether in the settings menu.
Ugh, that is so annoying. It was so nice to just hit the toggle. I can't wait for root.

Have you tried looking for a widget in the play store to handle this? You might have some luck there!

The T-mobile hotspot app does have a toggle widget but I was looking for something from the status bar menu. I actually like the floating bar that LG used to replace the 2nd screen and I would use it if you could put widgets into it (like the hostpot toggle). I think it would be so much more useful if there was a way to put widgets into the floating bar.

if it doesnt work for u go into the setting to add an app to the quick setting. after doing that select the hotspot app. is another step but is a good solution for a shortcut
it will end up looking like this

Awesome! Thank you!
I hope someone from this discussion is still paying attention. I can't get this app to work for me. I got the hotspot toggle to be available, but it only turns off Wi-Fi, and doesn't enable my hotspot. I don't get what I'm missing.
Anyone find a way to do this through the adb shell? I tried: settings put secure sysui_qs_tiles "hotspot" but no luck.
I have the sprint (unlocked) lg v50 on pie and it also does not have mobile hotspot quick setting.
I have to goto settings>network>tether>hotspot.
So dumb
I also have a us cellular v30+ (unlocked) on pie and it does have hotspot quick setting as it should.
