Very simple question. Seems like I can't find anyone else who has this question for some reason. I would think that several other people also wonder about this, unless I just simply missed something.
How do I choose a custom mail app for mail? When I choose a theme and click on the widget for email, it asks me to choose Email, Gmail, and Voicemail. However, I use CloudMagic for my email, so this doesn't work for me...
Does anyone have any clue how I can fix this?
There is no clue. Themer only supports gmail at the moment.

3rd Party Email account support is coming soon!
thx, i have seen all of this videos but there was no 3rd party mail described.
Now we have to wait :crying:
You say coming soon, but December of last year you said it would be coming in a few weeks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2575602.
So is it actually coming soon this time?

Icon notifications for any app has just been released into the beta testing community, so it shouldn't be much longer for that to arrive. However this is different to displaying email counts in Zooper, which is a much more complicated process.

Hey Folks,
I was wondering if with Handcent SMS it is possible to have group conversations. I know that you can select more than one contact to receive a particular message but is their anyway for it to host conversations. With BB(I know a shame to compare) I had an application and if I sent a text to say 5 people, all 5 people seen each others replys as the phone forwarded one persons reply to everyone else and added their name. Is their anyway to get Handcent to do this? To host like a chat, if you will. It was super handy on BB being able to text 5 people, and all 5 of us carry on a conversation.
If this is something Handcent can not do, is their any other good application recommendations?
Thank you very much,
Blaine

They claim to support group sms but like you said when people reply it goes into their own individual thread from my experience. Damn shame they can't get it working properly like on BB and iPhone.
Well as dissapointing as it is thank you for confirming it wasn't just my ignorance. Such a shame though. Have you found any alternative applications that can do it?
Thanks!

Actually I just gave up and said forget it to group sms for now. I emailed handcent but never got a reply.
That's just not cool. It would really be handy for me. Weird Handcent never replied.
OT: What year car do you have? Foxbody?
Handcent has a group sms plugin on the market. Never had a need personally but it may be what you're looking for
I've downloaded tthe plugin & well...I still haven't figured out exactly what it does lol.

after searching "handcent group sms" on the market, multiple packages showed up, so far I count 9 plugins for group SMS. I'm gonna screw with it a bit. You may need to have everybody you're texting in the group running on the same SMS client... I'll see what I can figure out with it
Hi I could really do with some advise. I suspect my 13 year old daughter is being messaged by some pervert she has been talking to online. she forgot her phone a couple of weeks ago when she went swimming and got a notification of a message on Facebook which I checked only to find what was, lets say a message no 13 should get. I have deleted all her internet settings and her MSN and facebook accounts and she wont be leaving the house for quite a while, but she is acting strange and spending lots of time texting and deleting her sent and received messages as soon as she gets them. Could really do with some form of logging software or something to put my mind at rest and either beat the living ****e out of this bloke or forward his number to the police. Need something stealthy and free or really cheap as I have reciently been made redundant and all the ones I can find are very expensive. I tried stealth sms messenger but when i tried it on my phone it just forwarded blank texts. Thanks in advance.
forgot to say its for a sensation if that makes a difference
i would suggest sms backup which archives messages onto a gmail account.
i've used it for over a year without any problems.
it works away in the background but is clearly visible within the apps list.
Thanks gascomm i will have a look and see if i can hide it some way. does it backup both sent and received?
yes, both in & outgoing messages are saved.
am afraid i haven't a clue on how to hide it but there may well be apps in the market to do such a thing. best of luck in finding a full solution.
Cheers i will sort something out, thanks again for your advise
If u use a launcher like Go EX then you can hide apps in the app drawer. Best of luck
Thanks very much I will give it a shot

So did it work? What did you end up useing to log the txt?

SMS Backup is an amazing app. Use it all the time.

try use arkyver(arkyver.com or play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arkyver.logMobile).
the application logs sms and call.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of any apps/utils that notify you of new emails (without actually checking email directly on the phone). What I mean is, an app that I guess checks it in the background or whatever, then pops up letting you know you have mail "to check". When I had my "other phone" there was an app called Ultimate Notifier that did this - I didn't have to check my email constantly, and I'd only get notifications that I had email "to check" when I did.
I've found a few apps in the market, but none seem to either work at all, or even do what I'm wanting to do. I know it's not an issue to check email every hour or whatever, but sometimes I prefer to just be notified that I have an email, and if I decide to check it, I check it, if not I don't, at least I was notified anyhow.
Hopefully there's "an app" for that, lol. It's the only thing I miss coming from my "old phone" If it matters, I'm using AquaMail, and the few that I have found are for K9 mail (and haven't been updated in years).
Thanks.

I'm confused. All email I thought had this built in. I use Gmail, Yahoo (through built in email app) and Outlook through touchdown. Gmail and outlook are push so every time I get an email I can have it notify me. Yahoo checks every 1/2 hour and notifies me if I have a new email.
why would you need an external app unless you don't have nay kind of setting to auto update mail or push?

Because I don't have it set to update. I generally do, but wanted to have it the way I had it with my other device. It'd just notify that I *had* an email (it wouldn't pull it or anything), and I could choose to check it or not check it. I know it seems silly, but it's just the way I preferred it I suppose.

OK not sure if you do this to save battery life or whatever but if so it would not make sense since the other app would be reaching out (push) to see if there was any email. So it would be a wash one vs the other.

A bit of battery saving. I'm not sure how the app I was using with my other device worked (It was called Ultimate Notifier), but their system checked my email server(s) to see if I had messages, if I did, it'd just send me a push notification - I wasn't "polling" any email servers on my end.

Umm...Ultimate Notifier was made at a time when Push email didn't exist outside of using MobileMe. It was made useless when Apple allowed Push mail with Gmail and POP3 boxes. What you were, in essence, doing is polling the Ultimate Notifier server in the same way that phones today poll Gmail (or other boxes). It used no less battery. In fact, if you know how Push notifications work it doesn't matter if you have 1 service (in your case Ultimate Notifier) or 10 services, you're not using any more battery. The only thing using the battery is downloading the emails, which probably accounts for about 10 minutes of battery a day.
In essence, there's no need for an app like that when every email app can do it natively. It uses the same amount of battery. If you liked how it looked and such...that can probably be done with a few other apps (different email apps or notification apps).

Anyone use Blue Mail as their mail app? Seems relatively new with only 10,000+ downloads, but has 4/5 stars in ratings. I dont want to use Maildroid with Ads and need support for Office 365/Gmail at the same time. It seems there arent very many apps other than the default mail app and Maildroid that support both simultaneously.

I use Blue Mail and I love it. However, I have an issue. Maybe I'm getting dumb in my old age, but I can't figure how to switch between different email providors. Any help?

I've sorted it out.
As the title suggests, I just discovered tonight after almost 2 weeks of having the Z3TC, I can't reply to group messages in the stock messaging app. When I respond to a message, it goes out individually to everyone and they hate me for not staying in the conversation. Any workaround or solution?
I heard and scoured the web, and basically I just read I need to download and use a different messaging app. This is unbelievable. It's almost 2015 and this tablet didn't come stock with this?
It's not a deal breaker for me, but darn, it is really annoying and gets my Z3TC made fun of. If I have to resort to a 3rd party app, anyone have any particular preference and why?
Many thanks.
Use the new Google messenger app or hangouts instead. The new Google Messenger app will probably become the new stock SMS app and it works great.
