As you all know that Furnace kernel and Franco kernel version r6 has the RGB display calibration control ability ,
now we can adjust LCD screen RGB value by changing the default value (255 255 255)
in the system file "/sys/devices/platform/kcal_ctrl.0/kcal"
One can change the RGB value in the above mentioned file manually using any good file manager with root access.
But it will again reset to default (255 255 255) when you reboot phone.
Many of us (One Plus One owner) think that the LCD screen is a bit yellowish.
Feature given in CM11S --> Settings --> Display & lights --> Screen Color --> Custom will only allow us to control
Hue
Saturation
Contrast
Intensity
But it is difficult for us to adjust screen yellow tone by this.
Here is a simple tweak that can help you to set RGB (Franco Kernel r6) on boot
I have created a simple shell script that will change RGB value on every boot

Create a file called "Kcal_LCD_RGB_SetOnbootScript" and put into /etc/init.d/ folder and give permission "rwxr-xr-x"
*** you can give any name ***
Only Work With Furnace-1.0.1 Kernel & Franco kernel for OnePlus One that has LCD KCAL Support
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
echo "220 230 255" > /sys/devices/platform/kcal_ctrl.0/kcal
Suggested by @savoca
--------------------------------------
"Add that line I gave you below. The control line verifies the kcal part and makes sure it's a safe or proper value before sending it to the panel."
Code:
echo "1" > /sys/devices/platform/kcal_ctrl.0/kcal_ctrl
You can set any RGB value as per your like..
Download Sample file here -- View attachment Kcal_LCD_RGB_SetOnbootScript.zip
Requirements
---------------------------------
1) OnePlus One Phone
2) CM11S Stock ROM (Franco) or CM11 Nightly with Furnace Kernel
3) Rooted Device
4) Franco Kernel r6 or Furnace Kernel
5) File Manager

Just thinking maybe you could give credit where due, if anything give it to LG. But you really plastered franco's name/kernel all over here.
Also apps like TricksterMOD already support this. And to maintain compatibility with most of the cherry-picks that will come of this, you should add this line to your script.
Code:
echo "1" > /sys/devices/platform/kcal_ctrl.0/kcal_ctrl

Takes away the yellow but makes my display REALLY cold like a bluish tone. I have played quite a bit but I am yet to find any setting that makes my display look like it should from the factory... Will keep trying.

For anyone who missed it, Google open sourced the official lights and sensor libs. Attached is the update.zip with official colorful LED lib. It's just about functionally identical to mine, but they have some better color mapping, and the white is finally white! Just flash from recovery and enjoy.
Special thanks go out to lilHermit, his app gave me a lot of insight into the LEDs, and metalhead8816 for helping me through some tough code, and Google for releasing the official code.
Root is required...
This is how it works:
- Screen on: incoming whatever - one white flash
- Screen off: notification - one white flash, then colored flash
- SMS, Gmail - green
- Missed call, twidroid - cyan
- Incoming call - rapid white flashing
- Incoming call while on bluetooth - rapid blue flashing

This file offers no customization because it's only an interface. What this file does is allow apps and the system to set the color and blink rate of the trackball and the trackball obeys.
Also, I cannot guarantee support for Desire roms. I know nothing about how the Desire is supposed to handle notifications. If HTC didn't try to do something fancy (read: stupid) with the notification code, then this will work as advertised. I have no plans to use or test this on a Desire ROM myself.
Attached is a real update.zip that I made myself. No waiting this time. Flash from recovery and let me know what you think.
ChainsDD said:
I pieced together a new led driver that shows colors on the trackball. Everything seems to work as advertised and it should work on any ROM.
It's being pulled into CM, so if you run that, you could probably wait for the next release if you want.
Other than that you can grab the .so here and push it to /system/lib/hw. It requires a reboot to take effect.
Note: This is not an update.zip. I'm too tired to put one of those together. just extract lights.mahimahi.so and push it with adb. or someone else can make an update.zip

thanks for the hard-work it'll be great to have the trackball work the way it should have from start. edit removed zip to prevent confusion

Awesome!!! Thank you!!!!
How do we change the values for different situations, (calls, sms, email etc...)???
this is awesome!!! Thanks so much
How do you mess with the different colors or can you not do that?
are there any options or something to mess around with? I don't notice much of a difference. Rather than 2 white pulses, I get a pinkish flashing. anyway to adjust?
Tested. Works fine.
I might sound dumb but how can I tweak the colors? Right now it blinks pinkish on startup but i hate pink
My guess is that the color is specified in the program itself, the same way that a LED notification light would get it's color.
But hey, at the moment the pink flashing matches nicely with the Carebear recovery released earlier today...

Need help finding an article I had read on fixing the Fascinates font pixelation. Pictures look awesome, but the fonts are a bit fuzzy, especially smaller fonts. I had read it just last week, but cannot find it in my history anywhere. Whatever they did really sharpened the fonts (at least in the screenshots). I am pretty sure it was about the Fascinate, but it may have been AMOLED in general.
Thanks in advance.

Wow, it has been a while since I have been on my Fascinate! I think Voodoo no longer supports color tuning though. My son is using my Fascinate right now with Devil Kernel and I think it supports color tuning through an add on program. I pulled the following from the Devil Kernel thread on the Fascinate. I will also check on my sons phone tonight to see if any of these work. Good luck!

It's based on Ezekeel's touch-wake implementation. I know it may sometimes fail, without a wakelock many aspects about it are a bit tricky, e.g. we have a very short and unpredictable detection window for touchscreen movements. @fluxi are the new changes from cm9 kernel included in this new updated version of your kernel? I mean that now on cm9 stock kernel is used the open source sensor hal, so auto brightness is working great like on your previous kernel version when choosing open source sensor hal on xtweaker app, but now I don't know if we can still use xtweaker app with this kernel to choose that option or If it is the default one on this new version...

So I see that the icons are not fitting entirelly. This is related to screen DPI you have. Your ROM - is is a stock one or some custom ROM from this forum? I never used stock ROMs, reflashed to custom one almost immediately. Most custom ROMs have setting for screen DPI, not sure if that's true for stock ROMs. I'd suggest you to play with the DPI, just raising it for a minor value should help.
But what do you mean when you say "the background is completely black"? On your photos, the background looks like it should.
The ROM is here on the forum.
Thanks a lot for your help. I will try it with changing the DPI.
With the black background that was my mistake.
EDIT:
I've changed the build.prop
ro.sf.lcd_density=240 --> 225
Now it looks good. Thanks a lot for your help.

You wrote that you had DPI set to 240 - this is normal setting for the 1024x600 screens as far as I know.
For 800x480 it should be something like 160 or 180, don't remember exactly.
Anyways, it's just for your information, and it is up to you to choose what is better for you.
Okay thanks

I don't like an idea of adding options screen for such a simple plugin.
I'll think, maybe I better compile a separate version centered vertically, it seems to be simpler a lot.

Unfortunately, no. All the graphics in this mod are the PNG images. To become green, they need to be redrawn and replaced in resources.
I'm afraid I don't have any motivation to do that, you need to understand: this was only a simple mod for myself, that I decided to share.
Also, the white is the color that fits any color scheme, this way it will satisfy the most audience (unlike green, red or whatever else)
For instance, I have a Volkswagen with all the buttons and gauges on the dashboard highlighted in red.
Still, I didn't choose this bar to be red, because white is good enough. But green would be a total crap for me.
By the way: in the xposed repository, there is a link to my github with all the source code of this mod. Anybody may feel free to fork it and make any changes they want.

Unfortunately, no. All the graphics in this mod are the PNG images. To become green, they need to be redrawn and replaced in resources.

In the Xposed repository, there is a link to full source code of that mod (Github). It is free source, everyone can fork it and do whatever he want.
You can install the Android Studio and compile these sources in it.
Or, you may take an approach with the software like APKTool which allows you to unpack APK files, change resources and repack it back.
Anyway, you'll need to learn how to do either, on your own.
Sharing my little work, I didn't take any responsibility as to provide any further support or even teaching people programming At least, I don't have time for that.
Those little tips are worth it . I.m going to work at this. Learning is a process
How can I change my screen's color temp (cool or warm) as stock android doesn't allow to change screen colors. any app ?
Only way I've found so far is to use night light feature in Settings. It makes the screen warmer but unfortunately adds a red tinge even at lowest intensity.
BTW, I'd be interested to know if there's a way to calibrate the screen WITH root. That may make it worthwhile for me to try rooting.
