Just received my ultra gpe last Saturday... Followed the direction to charge for 30mins..It will not boot at all. Tried charging overnight still the same, notice that when I was charging it, no indicator light comes on. I used the sony charger and cable. Tried pressing the off red button, hold power and volume down, still won't boot up.
Could it be DOA?

Got my jetstream a few days ago and I carrier unlocked it using a code I found on ebay.
Been playing with it for a few days and the battery was depleted.
I have tried to charge the tablet but it just blinks orange and it won't turn on.
I have tried:
-20second power button press with and without ac power
-20second power+vol down combo with and without ac power
-Vol down and then pressing power button
Nothing is working.
Funny enough, when I plug it to my PC, it detects an android phone.
Any ideas?

I believe that you didn't charged with the original charger?
It happend to me when I didn't used the original charger which is stronger then a normal micro usb charger.
The normal micro usb charger doesn't have enough power to really charge the device if its empty.
Only original HTC tablet charger can charge this device properly. You can use Flyer or Jetsream AC charger only. Always use original HTC charger for best result and performance.

The red blinking means that the battery is to low to turn it on... Just leave it charging for a few hours with the original charger. Should solve your problem.

So I've been using my phone as per normal, and it suddenly switches itself off and wont turn on.
If I plug it in to charge (the batter was at 40%) I just get a blinking RED LED.
Any help / ideas guys?!
Try to press volume up and power in the same time. If it vibrates 3 times it should start normally...

Hi Fenix
Have tried that with and without a charging lead connected and no joy. The red LED just continues to blink.
Have also tried, again with and without charge, to press the red button next the sim card slot and no luck.
How about volume down and power?

Same result.
Planning to leave the phone OFF charge all night and see if that helps, and then maybe do the opposite and keep it ON charge for a few hours maybe.
Any other advice?
Have you tried a system reset
(you can use sony PC companion to do this)
(repair device)
I have this same problem.
I have reset and re installed the rom via pc companion and same problem.
Basically the phone will not charge via the magnetic connector at all.
if you switch off the phone it will not stay off, it keeps turning its self back on again and boot looping: displaying the sony logo, then off, then sony logo again.
If you hold the power button down for 20 seconds whilst on a Sony logo, the phone boots to the experia logo and boots normally.
Problem is the phone will NOT switch off and half the time it wont come back on. Its basically a lottery on whether the phone will come back at all.
Update - managed to get the phone switched on after leaving it on charge all night. Had to hold the power button down for 30 secs to get to my home screen as otherwise it was just looping to the Sony logo.
However, now, the phone is not charging - it detects that a charger is connected but the battery level is not going up and the LED is constant orange.
What to do?
I would flash a.2.69 firmware if you don't have it already.

I'm a newb with these things - is there link for how to flash?
Not sure if it makes a difference but this phone is from Vodafone and I believe they've locked the bootloader or something similar?
Also noticed that the phone 'thinks' its still charging even without a charger connected - and the orange LED is constant.
Looks like the battery is kabooshed?
I think u should give the phone in for warranty.

Adding to the above.
Received my Z2 on O2 onFriday 2nd, Tried charging it this morning and red charging light was on then started flashing.
That was trying to charge via a usb cable to the magnetic contact.
Re tried using standard usb cable.
Will not start regardless of what I do, on button, on + volume up, on + volume down.
Trip to O2 after work tonight to take it back.
May be a problem with the magnetic charging system, somehow shorting something out, for me anyway.
Same here, Need to return it to T-Mobile.
Same issue,
Went Off, never to be able to turn the phone on again.
When connected to the Charger, the red light blinks faster.
When connected to USB red blinking led, blinks slower.
Does not go 'On' anymore.
Recovery from pc compannion does not work.
The Update tool send by the sony technical suppport also did not recognise the device.
Windows does not recognise it.
Volume Up + power does not work
Volume Down + Power does not work
Volume Up of Down (phone turned off) connecting with USB does not work.
Red button next to the sim card does not reset the phone.
It is a Brick now, hope sony is good and replaces it with a NEW one.

Sounds like it could be a corrupt bootloader?
Things to try
Press the red 'off' button beside the sim card, then charge in a A/C charger for several hours, then see if it will power on
Do the above but dont power on. hold down the volume down button while connection to a PC
Do the above but press the 'red off button' while holding the vol - button while connected to the PC
These last two we want the LED to turn blue for 1/2 a sec then go out (Flash Mode)

USB cannot recognized.
So what i gonna do?
The only times I've seen a blinking red LED (with and without a cable plugged in), is when there are issues with the bootloader. I've accidentally locked my bootloader while being on a custom kernel a couple of times, and I've gotten this exact behavior.
What was the last thing you did with your Ultra?

I didn't do anything. My phone no root and locked bootloader. And now the led is continuous (red led, yellow blinking) when i'm charging. cannot do anything with it.
Sorry my English not good.
I would go to a service center, if i were you.
Yeah, I would probably send it in for repairs too since I can't really tell what's going on.
Yeah i already send it to service center
Hello,
Can somebody assist me with a problem I have with a friend's Sony Z2. I'm not very familiar with this phone and I have an issue with one.
It had the screen replaced because it was broken and before putting the last screw I turned it on to see if it works. I needed to put on charge because the battery was 1%. It worked perfectlyand then I disconnected it from charge, removed the battery flex cable to mount the phone back and when I finished it, I tried to turn on, but unsuccesfully.
All it does now is, every time I push the power button, the notification light is blinking red 3 times. Nothing more. If I keep Power and volume up is doing nothing, unless I put it on charge (on charge and power+volume up is vibrate 3 times too). I have nothing on screen. Reset button (the one inside SIM slot) makes the phone vibrate 3 times. The pc detects the phone 1-3 seconds and then nothing, I don't see it in my device management. I tried with another battery and same issues.
Any idea how to fix it ?
Thank you.
let it charge for 10 -20 mins
if not check battery flex
i feel its battery low or not connected proper

Thanks for the answer mate.
It was 2 nights on charge and still nothing. Also the notification light remains red while charging ? It shouldn't turn green when the charge is complete

The flex comes with the battery. Since I tried a new battery, I guess isn't the flex cable.
Sadly that's all I can say

Searched around and there doesn't seem to be a fix? Not sure. Anyway, here are the details:
- Rogers, NOT rooted, running the latest update (6.0 I think?). Was working fine all day yesterday. Turned it off last night before bed, and plugged it in.
This morning, it wouldn't power on. No button combination to get to recovery / download mode is working. I've tried multiple cables with no luck. One thing that DOES work - is wireless charging. The phone doesn't react as if it's charging (no LED, screen doesn't activate), but the wireless charger reacts as if it is charging, and the phone gets warm as normal.
Any ideas?

Nope, doesn't power on in any form.

No, the led doesn't light up at all. The wireless charger does respond though - and the battery seems to heat up on the phone. But no other indication that the phone is charging.

Do you still have warranty? If yes, get it exchanged. If not, maybe try to open the back, unplug the battery and look for any sign of damage or burn. Maybe try plugging it in without the battery or go to a repair shop that can do that for you. Seems like you already tried all other things, that came to my mind.

Try to do the download mode combination vol down + home + power for 20 seconds. Then press vol up then plug into odin. See if it picks it up? It could be just dead screen/board
Thanks both for the replies! Yeah, the phone is out of warranty (bought it July 2015...grr). I haven't tried loading it with Odin - I will try that soon. I ended up getting a new phone so at least I'm not without a device, but if I can get the S6 repaired then at least I can sell it to recover some lost dollars. Thanks!!
