I have seen a lot of good features on different ROMs and would like it if they could be listed somewhere.
Like the "Add_flashlight_toggle"
Is there a place I can find a list of mods for The Note 2 on Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and/or, are they specific to the ROM number?
I'm on Stock 4.1.2 Rooted and I like it , Thanks in advance.

And boom goes the dynamite!
So, this might have been asked before but I suppose on could see the trouble with trying to find info about an application called "S Note" in this forum. I am using Flapjaxxx's JB rom (on beta 5 right now) and I attempted to pull the s note app from the JB dump of a Note II. However, it would not install. I realize there must be something else I need touchwiz wise but I haven't a clue as to what component I need. How can I install S Note on my JB rom?

dafoxs is right, it`s not possible.
Considering the similarities between the domestic variants of the Note 2 and their international counterparts, would anyone be willing to test some of the success that the folks over in the AT&T forum have had with porting the international N7100/N7105 firmware/ROM's over to the Verizon Note 2
Check out these two threads over in the AT&T forum and see what you all think:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016575
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018411
The basic gist of the procedure is to use a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP to flash a stock N7100/N7105 firmware, and then flash your carrier specific modem/kernel.
Why would anyone want to do this? Well, for starters, you would benefit from built-in stock-supported tethering, and a few other features that carriers disable (YMMV). But mainly this means that the domestic versions of the Note 2 can benefit from the development of the international versions! So, when the latest version of Android comes out for the rest of the world, we aren't stuck here waiting for our carrier to catch up to everyone else...
So what do you all think? Anyone willing to try?
ba-ba-ba-BUMP.
What about integrating carrier specific apps? The Verizon version has a data usage app that works without logging into my Verizon.
I do believe that is what scrosler was doing here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2055218 and he said this in the features " Verizon Patch files in a flashable zip can be found http://www.cleanroms.com/downloads/Note2/VZW Patch for 7105 Base.zip This will let the ROM think you are a VZW ROM! Good for the Play Store and APN settings! " But.... He did say he was unsure if it works on other roms in his second post. You possibly could try it. : )
Thanks. . But I'm already using his VZW rom

Any chance that Scott's patch would work on the CM10.1 nightlies for N7100? If I try it, do I risk bricking?

You risk a soft brick. Just make a nandroid backup first and you'll be fine.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Just make sure you don't flash modems and keep a stock kernel on hand
Yeah since the hardware is nearly identical I think the most you would risk is a soft brick. The 7100 lacks LTE though so I'm not sureif you would have data on one of those roms. Tell us how it goes if you go through with it.

Since its safe to assume verizon will be running over this update again and again with its monster truck of doom and then leaving it to die in the mud long before even thinking about passing the carcass of whats left to its customers, our awesome dev's will be needing an international base, I'm sure, as soon as it is available in order to pass the greatness on to their VZ followers(ok me ) through their awesome ROMs that they work so hard on.
Soooo I was thinking; in order to hopefully cut the first step out (getting a hold of the update file itself) maybe the right combination of peeps(someone who is or knows someone that is on the international base) could read this thread and kindly have the update file extracted and ready to share to the devs as soon as its available...
If this is a waste of thread then I apologize. I'm just trying to help any way I can...
I flash ALOT ...and also yes.
I'm thinking we'll have the international base out by middle of next week. Hopefully we'll get some of the new features that's on the GS4 like the new photo stuff.

Id say it depends on what rom youre talking about. Ones built off the VZW base wont be updated until we get an OTA more than likely. Roms based on the International firmware will be updated straight away.
The article the OP linked only applies to the International variant, therefore its only moderately exciting.
I don't see the goods of the 4.2.2 and I prefer 4.1.2 lock screen.

Im right there with ya! The international roms almost always have more features, seeing as how Verizon hasnt managed to get their grubby hands on it, and run a bit smoother than the VZW roms that have been modded to add the features back.

They updated the s3 with the s4 coming out like it did. That's a silly assumption. And Samsung is great with updates. Verizon is the one who takes forever to push them. Please get your facts straight kind sir.

Given the devices are effectively the same, I would have thought it would be fairly easy to export the ROM and convert the regular S4 to the one I actually want with out buying a new one.
Now since I haven't seen anything I figured I'd post it. What gives?
There's really no ROM difference, as far as I'm aware. Just the Dev edition has an unlocked bootloader...which cannot be exported from that phone to ours.

I dont think the Google Edition will be released on Verizon. GSM phone, which is the main reason its so hard to port for us. Dubbsy and Nitro have pretty excellent ports available now, though.
There's a Google edition ROM that's already out for the Verizon S4. Hell, I'm running it now and its flawless. The only thing not working is the carrier label in the notification shade. Other than that its perfect.
