Need firmware for XT022 India - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
To begin with: "I HAVE SCREWED UP MY PHONE" and need your help... Please....
So I had rooted my phone also had TWRP installed. I wanted to cleanup phone so I used TWRP and tried to factory reset, while do that I went to advance wipe options and wiped out everything, including system partition - lost OS entirely - even factory image backup.
Now my phone does not boot, only able to load boot loader and fastboot mode with menu is coming, I suppose recovery partition is still intact and I should be able to boot into TWRP as well.
I searched on XDA and found that I can flash original firmware to get it back but I am not able to find right firmware for my phone. using fastboot command prompt I found this:
D:\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot getvar ro.build.version
.full
(bootloader) ro.build.version.full[0]: Blur_Version.21.12.40.condor_reta
(bootloader) ro.build.version.full[1]: ildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03
ro.build.version.full: Done
finished. total time: 0.013s
Click to collapse
That means my phone needs:
Blur_Version.21.12.40.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03
Click to collapse
But I don't find it anywhere, I had updated my phone to 4.4.4 before rooting it and installing TWRP. This is India version XT1022 Dual sim model
Can someone please suggest what to do?
One thing that I can guess is to install flash this firmware:
Blur_Version.20.11.14.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03
Click to collapse
But I am not sure if this is the right one, can someone from India - who has not updated their device to 4.4.4 yet - tell me what is the firmware version on their device? and if possible also share it with me?
Please guys, would be great if someone can help...
Thanks,
Raks

Only problem is that it doesn't flash boot logo...... Pre validation failed.... Boot loader needs to be locked for that.....

Initially I started to follow following steps from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2756609
mfastboot.exe flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot.exe flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot.exe flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot.exe flash boot boot.img
mfastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot.exe flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot.exe erase modemst1
mfastboot.exe erase modemst2
mfastboot.exe flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot.exe erase cache
mfastboot.exe erase userdata
Click to collapse
But in that 1st and 2nd step failed gave me error msg like some verification failed. I did not want to rewrite logo, boot and recovery partition as my phone was booting fine and was also going to recovery. I was afraid if something goes wrong with these two partition then it will completely screw up and brick the phone so I directly started with restoring system partitions and all the steps after that were fine.
Finally reboot was successfully and it was running 4.4.2 with bootloader unlocked and twrp intact. I was able to connect phone to wifi and all other functions were good, it even prompted me to download update 4.4.4 which I downloaded and tried to install.
But once phone was rebooted after downloaded it went into twrp recovery and from there in the reboot loop, I guess that was because I did not install SU or it was partially installed. So I downloaded latest version and installed it using twrp and at the same time also downloaded twrp version of 4.4.4 update from another thread and installed it using twrp.
Finally all is good and phone is working fine, XDA YOU'RE BEST :good:

[Q] [Help] Moto E does not recognize the SIM's

Guys, I'm in trouble.
Installed the Rom CM12 having here in the forum, on my Moto E. As it is not recognizing the SIM's, I did downground for Stock Rom 4.4.4 but still got the same problem of SIM's, now put the Paranoid 4.4.4 and still does not recognize the SIM's.
Anyone know what I can do to fix this error?

What the hell? Man, type *#06# and see if your IMEI is null, unknown or if are the 15 numbers of your IMEI, if the numbers still there, just flash your stock rom with fastboot, if not, The only thing you can do is send your phone to Motorola assistance... I don't know what you mean with "Claudia", my name is Gabriel... Lets keep speaking english here brother

Failed to validate system image

Hi guys, a friend of mine had a problem with his Moto E XT1021 and I'm trying to help him. I'm stuck on this screen and i don't know what to do:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
...
Battery OK
Devis is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Connect USB Data Cable
...
failet to validate system image
Fastboot Reason: Fall-through from not charger-boot mode
He told me that he started to have problems after updating his phone. Whatever I do, I get:
failed to validate system image
Boot up failed
I tried to unlock the bootloader, but when I type fastboot oem get_unlock_data I get this error:
(bootloader) Could not get unlock data! OKAY [ 0.166s] finished. total time: 0.173s
...any suggestions? Thanks.
Anyone who can help me?
Here's the link of stock firmware, flash it (guide included) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755857
It doesn't require unlocked bootloader.
I tried but I get this error when i type the flash boot command:

The smartphone shows: "hab check failed for boot"
...it is possible that I downloaded the wrong version ?
I'm assuming you're using Indian variant. So according to that you're using correct image.
Did these commands returned okay?
mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin

Why are you assuming that I'm using the Indian version ? The phone was purchased from Amazon in Italy and I was trying to flash the stock retail EU 5.1
I tried the 4. KitKat but i got some error about downgrading.
What you actually did, before this problem was caused?
Were you using the same rom(that you're trying flash) ??
It's not my phone, but he said that after an updating (was a normal update. I suppose it was the 5.1 update) he started receiving this problem.
Can you help me?
Okay skip the boot.img step and execute the rest of the commands.
Okay I will try
So i tried but this commands failed:
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk1
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk2
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk3

That's not done dude.
It shouldn't have fixed your device the main part was this
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk*
and that returned Failed too. Since the bootloader isn't unlocked so flashing custom recovery isn't possible too.
There's no other way I can see but device is bricked.
So is it impossibile to unbrick it?

Hi, did this get resolved? I have the same problem. My XT1021 (UK Tesco variant) had been switched off for some time. When I turned back on it was looping in fastboot. Could not even turn it off. I tried flashing with a number of stock ROMs using usb to PC and mfastboot commands. Many stock ROMS caused errors on various commands, the 5.1 UK Tesco variant seemed to work perfectly - no errors displayed on phone or PC. But hone now boots too fastboot and shows the failed to validate system image error. Battery is apparently OK .. is something else likely to be toasted?
Its an old phone but would be good for my son as he starts senior school until he has proved he won't lose it
Similar Problem with Moto XT1225
Hi there, I've similar problem with XT1225.
I tried to lock the oem and it is locked with status code 2. I forgot to enable OEM unlocking from the Developer options and now I have no way to boot my device it always end up loading into fastboot mode.
Any help would be appreciated.

[HELP] Need Moto Z XT1650-05 Sheridan Stock ROM - Stuck in a Bootloop!

Hello all,
I currently have a Moto Z XT1650-05 SHERIDAN Dual Sim from China. I tried to install TWRP and root it but messed it all up. Now I am stuck in a bootloop. I tried to flash the stock rom in mfastboot using the XT1650-05 GRIFFIN China Stock ROM but it gets to the "Erasing" screen with a droid and keeps looping from there.
Have tried to google all over for a "SHERIDAN" ROM but not able to find one either. Could any kind soul here point me in the right direction to save my device?
Thanks so much in advance!

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this list does not include the Sheridan variant, only the Griffin ones. It's okay, I managed to figure out a workaround.

Just flash any Griffin firmware, for safety you should first delete gpt and bootloader IMG. These variants share their firmware with each other, according to website spec info.

I have the same trouble with my European version. I tried to flash a griffin version and now it is stuck in bootloop
I had the same issue awhile ago. I fixed it by using the ADB command prompts version and installing it piece by piece. It took longer but works flawlessly now. The directions are somewhere in the forums Ill see if I can find them.

Flashed on XT1710-06 Mexico ATT and it worked fine, coming from Oreo April update btw, thanks.
I've different experience...
I've XT1710-11 (ZUI bought from www.jd.com)
When I flashed from ZUI to this 8.0 without the modem - the fingerprint sensor stopped from working [I had no SIM inside so I cannot verify if the modem worked Or not]
I tried stock 7.1.1 RETAIL without modem - it worked well.
Tried going to 8.0 April without success - fingerprint still failed.
Tried 8.0 RETUS no sucess
went back to ZUI for XT1710-08 with modem everything worked well
Then tried again this stock without modem - same no fingerprint sensor
Then tried adding the modem the fingerprint sensor worked well... when inserted the sim the modem worked well - so maybe for XT1710-11 no need to avoid the modem.

everything worked well with this guide.
then i got some probs with magisk but finally it worked too. then i installed xposed beta3 and luckypatcher.
with luckypatcher i tried to uninstall some systemapps and to block ads. but it didnt work. after uninstalling some apps they dont disappear from app drawer and all ads are shown on webpages.

does someone installed xposed successfully?
further i tried to install adaway. when it tries to save the host files into /system/ect it has not the permissions even as supersu through magisk.
i changed the location to /data/data but then the symlink cant be created.
so i did that in twrp. but after reboot the symlink seems to be overwritten.
any ideas what can be done?

I am wondering if anyone has successfully flashed this to a locked down, Verizon version of this phone (1710-02), via fastboot command prompt. Also, if so, had VO-LTE working afterword.
I appreciate any response.

Hi,
After doing this, is your phone just like stock ? I mean not warning on boot logo, no N/A or Bad Key on boot logo, OTAs working fine and safety net passing successfully ?
Thanks

Probably the warnings on boot logo will keep until you lock bootloader again

Remember the re-lock process must be 2 steps flash with flashboot
Restart the phone and allow USB Debug again

If bootlogo is flashed (as it is) no warning sign should be there anymore.

I can confirm it went back to original state, no sign needed.
I has problem with my fingerprint reader after using in rain. So I need to go back to stock for warranty, and Moto replaced sensor with a new one.

can we use this update for the Indian version of Z2play, software channel: RETIN. Bootloader: locked. if yes, then is there any problem with the mobile network?

Before you unlock:
Try fastboot "Boot" TWRP, if you can, it might be possible to use one of the TWRP backups to fix your phone. There is another thread with TWRP backups of stock.
If successful boot, restore system partition last and separately.
XT1710-09 bootloader unlocked, installed 9.0 without any issue! Everything ok with twrp-3.2.3-0-albus recovery, but got bootloop trying to root with Magisk 20.0. Any tip?

Yes, i tried both the US version and the Brazil version and the Brazil version works. I'm on Vodafone India and everything works perfectly fine on android pie.
However, after several trials and errors, I realized there are two commands that you shouldn't run when flashing pie on the Indian variant. They are:
1) flashboot erase userdata
2) flashboot erase carrier
Special Thanks to @Junior Passos

Step 1: you get yourself a usb cable.
Step 2: you plug one end into your computer.
Step 3: plug the other end into your phone..
