Wandering on the internet i found this link : http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/556100/20140618/android-4-5-lollipop-update-htc-lg.htm#.U9F7_PmSwj8
It says that LG G2 and G3 will get the update and most likely also G2 Mini will get one to :victory: .
Very nice.
But we will have to wait until October or later, since Android L will be released around September.
BTW, I think that it is Android 5.0 , because it has so many changes.

i just hope LG dont destroy android l's layout with that ugly stuff themes and apps they have :/
every android phone should be shipped vanilla, then you could download extra packages from LG if you want that stuff.
i just hope we get custom recovery soon.
anyway. im to stoked for android l. since ive been using android since the first htc
and ive seen it get better and better. android seems like it really have som cool features and put together well.

Old phone?!
The G2 Mini is just 6 months old!
Exactomundo. They release new phones and forget the "old" ones. Because they are willing to ship upgrades only for those who "pay" for it. Haha, get it? You have to buy a new phone to get a software update...
Exactly as i said, marketing! Making money @Vagelis1608 for them it's old. :/

I do agree with this thought and I think that's exactly what's going to happen. :crying:
I still disagree.
I am pretty sure that LG will release Android L for G2 Mini.
Not sure about next year's Android update, though.
G2 mini is a new phone. It only have a few months. 7 I think. Also on some pages i see that some people asked LG and they say Yes. See Here.

Maybe you can start to asking LG. But im pretty sure, it will take a few months. April 2015 maybe with luck. So dont expect it for now.

Excellent news... Now that my device is unrootet I'll wait the OTA update. (I know, we must wait until 2015...)
But... Does still is the update for G2 mini carryng the G3 UX supposed to arrive?
And Finally, I hope that LG wouldn't stuff this upgrade with the same ****... QuickRemote and QuickMemo are good, but I'd like a more AOSP experience.

I dont know if LG is going to release 4.3. I think LG is just going to wait until 4.4 before providing an update. I just dont trust LG yet to provide multiple software updates because they havent built that reputation.

lol well if someone can see into the future to answer this... forget 4.4 and go right for 5.0 Android Lemon-aid... or lolly-pop?
My amazement is the fact that you are asking to speculate on a release date for our phone, when the Version hasn't even launched yet. That's like asking the exact release date of a phone that hasn't been announced yet

I'd think that would be the smart choice for them, especially considering that the g2 is the basis for the nexus 5. I'd imagine they're developing both in parallel.
Does anyone know if it will be possibile to have Android 4.4.3 on LG G2 D802?
Google release it today according to this article http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-4-4-3-ktu48f-to-begin-rolling-out-to-nexus-5-today/
So maybe the developers could work on a custom ROM with Android 4.4.3 for the next month?
What do you think guys?

My understanding is 4.4.3 is more of a fix for nexus devices that suffer from the camera bug, which apparently drains battery like crazy. It may also be for other devices that have the same bug, however I have yet to hear of anything for the G2.

How is this an info thread when ask I see are questions in OP?
Thanks for your answers.
What I understand now is that Anroid 4.4.3 will be a "big fix update package" for the Nexus devices. Perfect !
Ok as usually the big name such as Cyanogen, Omni and PA will probably push it upstream.
wargreymon89: It is right that I ask something and I don't give any details or info about something in specific.
But it is an info topic, in my opinion, because everyone here can write what they know about this version of Android and the possibility to have it for LG G2.
I think for some people on XDA will be interesting to know more about the future of our device. I also hope that LG don't stop the development at Android 4.4.2 so maybe we can have Android 4.4.3 or even better Android 5.0. Who knows ?
In the meantime if you have some useuful information about this particular version of Android of our device, you can wrtie here and everyone will know what you know
It is simple !

Based on my experience LG always skip minor upgrade. This phone will jump to 5.0 (probably)
Optimus G 4.1.2 to 4.4.2
G Pro 4.1.2 to 4.4.2
G2 4.2.2 to 4.4.2
And Lseries II (started from L5 i guess) 4.1.2 to 4.4.2

If there will be many users, more developers will develope something for us.

Why buy a G2 Mini when the G3 Mini is coming... I think you put your money on the wrong horse and there won't be that much development coming for this phone as everybody knows the G3 Mini is gonna have better specs at the same price...
I honestly do not understand why they waited so long with the G2 Mini tbh. I do hope you'll get some AOSP at least :good:

Sometimes that statement is correct sometimes it is not, depending on circumstances. Personal or not... But the G2 mini/G3 mini is a different story.
When the G2 Mini got released there were leaks already of the G3 Mini. The G2 mini got released way to late:
G2 Mini: Status Available. Released 2014, April
G2: Status Available. Released 2013, September
The first G3 Mini leaks are from april. The G3 is getting annoucned the end of this month and the G3 mini will follow quickly. The timespan between those two phones is just too short. It's not like you have to wait 8-12 months, no it's probably only 1-3 months.
This makes your argument invalid lol.

true... today, our old Optimus 2x runs kitkat 4.4.4 almost without a problem (depending if you use HDMI and some other minor stuff)
G2 was my choice for upgrade mainly because of the screen size and quality, it looks nicer than other devices i was considering to buy and most important of all - i got it for a bargain for extending my contract with my provider...
and i don't like samsung or especially iStuff (and HTC ruined their flagships with enormous bezels)

I wouldn't wait for AT&T release the L update. As long as LG releases source code, i'm sure dev will jump on it and get us the best out of it.
why are there few roms for the lg g2 mini? as compared the galaxy s4 mini (about 50 custom roms), the lg g2 mini has only 2-3 alpha unstable roms... can we expect more roms or it is just that lg g2 mini is not very popular and bootloader is locked..so we cannot expect more roms coming..?
Because S4 mini released in july 2013. G2 mini released in april 2014, so wait 8 months and then will se

Well rather than just sitting on your butt, you could start doing some research into how to built roms from sources, zaaap, has luckily for us made a lot of possibilities, so it's just about getting started. I myself am far from a developer, android expert or anything like that... But still I'm trying to find a possible way to create a miui rom from source, I'm not saying it's going good , but atleast it's worth a try.
So don't just wait, try to do something yourself and help the community
