Hi, so I ran into a problem while trying to downgrade something on my tablet. I can't remember exactly because it was a few months back. I believe it was the bootloader, but I am stuck in recovery loop now. Can anyone assist me on fixing this?
What do you mean by recovery loop?

As in I can't get out of recovery. Every time I try to reboot it, it just boots straight into the recovery

Did you try the power + volume down combo? If you can boot into download mode, you can reflash stock ROM using Odin. Else, if you have a ROM zip in your sdcard, you can make a full wipe and flash that.
BTW, can you remember what OS were you from?

True. Ran into that issue myself and odin was my saviour. Left to its own it will reboot to recovery but power+volume down give the option to boot to download mode. Use it to reflash your stock rom.

I was on the omnirom for this tablet. Which I believe was 4.2 at the time I had it.

You need a more recent recovery for that. Try to sideload TWRP 2.7.1.0 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2777161.

Your welcome lol. My guess is that your tab has no ROM in the system which is why it kept booting into recovery. But why it couldn't boot into download mode I don't know.

Thank you in advance.
I just got my SGS2 back from repair today (stuck pixel) and I wanted to installe CM9. I thought I'd start with the latest CWM - the link was broken so I flashed CWM 4.0.0.8, which flashed fine.
When the phone rebooted, it sat in a loop doing nothing. I then flashed CWM 4.0.1.4, which also did not help. I attempted to wipe cache using CWM. A heap of errors scrolled down the screen. I thought I'd restore back to factory kernel and rom, which I did. I am still in bootloop and I have the following text on screen when I go to stock recovery

dunno...most likely you flash wrong rom without reading first...or your zip file not finished download....
check you file..name, actual size before flashing
I hadn't even gotten as far as flashing a ROM, to obtain root, I attempted to use CWM, that is when things went wrong
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458 try this even i got strucked like that wen i tried to flash custom rom
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
That would work, but multiupload is busted
Wipe data/factory reset, clear cache.. The it will start a fresh.. Then re-root if needed.. Hope this helps
This post was most of the solution. After this, I could flash an old version of CMW that worked. Following that, I could flash cyanogen mod 9. Thanks to all

Hi,
I have a Lenovo A516 rooted. I deleted some Lenovo pre-installed files that made my phone unstable and now it's stuck in boot.. I can get into my Android System recovery but what can I do from here? Can I try loading a custom ROM or should I find Lenovos factory ROM and load that?
This is my first time using Android System Recovery.
Help is greatly appreciated! I just bought this phone! :crying:
at system recovery can I try wipe data/factory reset or wipe cache partition?
I'm guessing I should install the ideafriend APK in recovery mode or ADB?

Probably.
Do you have a custom recovery? If so I can probably create a flashable zip to get the APK back.

Hey Thanks for the reply. Yes I can get into my recovery by pressin power and volume buttons. And I did find the apk files i deleted. I am in the process of making a zip file out of them. Do I choose "update from SD Card" in recovery mode?

Is this a custom recovery or is it the stock recovery? You might get license errors if you are on the stock recovery.
EDIT: It seems there isn't a custom recovery for your device- Am I correct? That makes things harder.

Yep, that's the stock recovery. You can try the zip you're making but you might get a signature verification later.

Might be a dumb question, but can this also add support to install color os?
Windows only? It seems to be nohting more than tool that executes adb and fastboot commads, but should be useful for newbies
I can't use Google Play after rooted the phone.

Great job OP! It only took me 10 minutes from downloading, to unlocking the bootloader and flashing a Custom Recovery. Thanks

Yes, unlocking the bootloader then rooting the device will wipe it. You can perform a back up first though. The advantages of rooting are many, to numerous to list here but put simply it allows you to change just about every facet of the phone.

Hello there.
A couple of months back my friend was having trouble with her S3 and she had to reset e every couple of days. So I instructed her to install Cyanogenmod via the official installer. She did and it worked.
A few days back she told he it won't update and I guessed that it won't for the lack of CWM so I told her to get Rashr from the Play Store and flash a custom recovery, which she did successfully. Even though the phone wouldn't update anyway.
So last night she told me that her phone stopped booting up completely. When booting to recovery and trying to flash a zip through CWM doesn't work because it keeps telling her "E: no sd card" or something like that. Now she doesn't have an SD card, but my understanding is that this refers to the internal storage too. So why can't the recovery read it?
Furthermore I tried to get her to flash another recover via Odin, but Odin fails to flash

Can you still get into download mode? If so try to flash a full stock rom from Sammobile with odin if that fails try the emergency recovery here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087735&postcount=6 <<
