Hi,
I'm currently using a t-mobile stock HTC One. My phone randomly got stuck in the boot up screen so I went into boot loader and powered the phone down. Powered it back up and same thing. So I went into boot loader and tried to go into recovery mode. I saw the red ! but didn't know what to do so I hit the power button and the screen went black. Nothing is working now and when I plug the phone into a charger, nothing happens. Does anybody know what to do?
Thank you!

I have read of three possible solutions:
1. Shine a bright light on the photo sensor while powering on the device.
2. Put it on the wall charger for an extended period of time (overnight or longer) to see if you get a response. The powering it on.
3. Return to HTC or T-Mobile for repair.

Thanks for the reply! I tried 1 and 2 already but I'm trying to leave it charge for over 2 days to see if that'll do anything else. I'm not sure if I can return to T-mobile anymore. I've had the phone for slightly over a year and I read from other threads T-mobile just tells them to take it to HTC. I don't know if I can get a repair from HTC since the IMEI number that was on the sticker on the back of the phone fell off and I have no other idea how to get that number.

If you still have the box it came in, the number is on the side of the box or it might be on the receipt. HTC can retrieve the number once they get in to the phone.

Hi I just recently bought an HTC HD2 and I got it used. I checked out the phone pretty well and it worked fine when I purchased it. I got home and the battery was dying and eventually died before I got a chance to charge it. So I left it on the charger, the LED light came on and was flashing as if it was charging so I went out for a bit. Once I came back I noticed the LED wasn't on anymore so I tried to start up the phone and the phone wouldn't turn on. I took out the battery and put it back in still nothing. I've even tried using a different battery and still have the same results. I talked to T-mobile and they said to try going into boot mode by powering up holding both volume keys and the power button and I cant get it to start up at all. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?

When battery is charging the LED does not flash. Normally it just lights in orange. Are you sure that the second battery you used was well charged? Take a tester and measure the voltage on the battery pads - it must show some 3.8 volts. You may check also if your battery is charging on some other phone to confirm that it is healthy before to decide that phone is dead.

just shows what tmo customer support know, , , thats a hard reset they've described, not entering bootloader.
Ok so on my lunch break I went to the t-mobile store and told them my problem, for some reason they were able to get my phone to somewhat charge and start up. So its for sure the battery. I have no idea why the secondary battery I used had no effect on the phone. After work I'm going to go find a new battery and hopefully this will solve the problem. I'll keep you guys posted.
winner!
.....
Seems there have no way to turn my phone on, after unlock bootloader failure via RSDList.
i've tried taken the battery out, put it back in. tried holding volume up, down, both. My phone still have no "reaction", no screen, no error code, just feel it "cool" likes deadly.
And, when i plugged it (battery taken out) into my computer via USB-marcoUSB, a green light on, but still can't connect to it (no device detected from computer, and also cant ADB).
What can I do now ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
that's weird. did you try removing the battery, and plugging into the charger?
...I did this 2 days after getting my ATRIX.
Same exact problem as you, it failed to flash. the green light thing, and no possible way to turn it on. Even tried another battery...
This is called a Hardbrick... not really a fun thing to have happen.
I took mine back to AT&T and got it replaced saying I was having issues from the get go (since I bought it only 2 days ago) they replaced it no questions asked.
Next time you wanna unlock your bootloader, I recommended the automatic script here for doing it.
I was on the 2.3.4 OTA update when I used it.

Fried. Return it for a new one.
Intel from personal experience.
I'm in the same boat, I accidentally clicked the wrong SBF while using RSD and ended up with the same issue above, I'm just gonna send it in, I'm actually shipping it in a couple hours.
HI First time here for me.
I was surfing the net on my t989 and the screen went black. I try to restart but the phone vibrates for one second and nothing happens. I took out the battery and SIM card and put back the battery, push ON button, phone vibrates but do not start. I try to charge but it vibrates every 5 seconds, but it doesn't start. The phone is new - one month - just install 9-10 aplications. Please help. Thanks
Same thing happened to my SGS..power IC was damaged in mine.

Have you underclocked/undervolted it at any stage? If so, try using ODIN to restore to stock, if you can even get into Download Mode. If not, send it into a Samsung Service Center.
Yes it sounds like it is not charging and the battery is flat! With the phone OFF you should briefly see a picture of the battery when you plug the phone into the charger.
Try putting in a fully charged battery from an another S2.
Can you get to Download mode (Powered off, press Vol up+Home+Power at the same time) or Recovery mode (Powered off, press Vol up+Home+Power)? If not, then you're in really bad waters...
Hi,
Thank you for your answer. I did't do anything to this phone since I bought it. Just 9 apps dowloaded. Worked fine and yesterday it got dead. I just do light web surf and some emails. Do you have any idea, please? I hate to have to returned since I'm in Canada and I couldn't even register this phone with samsund.com sice it is allowed only US addresses.

If you can't even get into Download Mode, as detailed above, really you're out of options for the most part. Looks like returning it is your only option.

First time in XDA-developers, hello everybody.
So this is my story, today i tried to put officialSpanishJB rom to my SGS2. i tryied, but i could make it.
I backuped the old firmware on sd, and wiped the rom. Now, the phone doesn't starts. it is in "black death" mode..
no reacting to anything.. Any suggestions?
(powerbutton+vol up+homebutton, doesn't works) any idea please?
Everybody with a device different than I9100 get out NOW!

Black screen
I have a SGS2 which turn on but the screen stays black have tried to reset and also reload formware but still stays black
So I got my Amaze on Friday, rooted and installed Energy Rom on Saturday, and phone just died on me on Sunday.
I was in the middle of playing Scramble with Friends and phone froze up on me. I had to take the batter out to reset it since the power button was not responsive. After I pulled the battery and put it back in, the phone would turn on.
So i read and read and found out people usually bought new batteries since the most likely culprit was a dead battery. I have a friend with the same phone and tried his battery. I saw the HTC Logo come on for a brief second and then that was it, nothing else. Phone died again and did not turn on (under his batter). I recharged my battery in his phone and tried that as well, but no luck.
Any ideas what went wrong and what I can do to fix this?
The phone is completely dead and not turning on. So that means I can't get into bootloader and recovery.
About Phone:
Unlocked Bootloader
TWRP recovery
Faux Kernel
ENERGY Rom
Any incite on this would be great. Thanks in advance!
Plug it in to the wall charger for 30-45min. Unplug and pull battery again. Put battery back in and you should be good...
Don't be alarmed if the orange led light flashes... It's normal when the phone dies. Be happy you're using twrp and not an old recovery that doesn't have charging while off

Thanks, i actually read those threads before i posted. I think there are more threads about that but i tried all options and none seemed to work. I will try plugging it in the wall and pulling battery out but the battery is at a 100% charge right now (i can confirm from a friends phone). However, if its just a glitch, then i will try the wall charger trick.
Thanks.

Once you get it booted, I recommend 4EXT recovery... But that's just my opinion

Thanks - tried the battery solution but unfortunately it didn't work out for me. Phone just refuses to power up.
Assuming its an official brick.
i have a similar problem, well my battery had charged and running fine for several months, so i unplugged the battery to put my sim on it, and plug it back in when it was booting up it froze on the boot logo, so i took off the battery again so i can reboot it
and ever since it wont come back on, wont either go to the bootloader, so i let it charged all night and nothing happen no led blinking or on, so got my friends amaze's battery to test and it would not do anything at either, right now i am waiting for my replacement, but i hate the fact that this had happen to me
oh wow - well i ordered a replacement as well. I really hope it doesn't come down to a software issue and they don't end up covering the device since it has been rooted.
If the phone is completely dead and non-booting, there's no way for T-Mobile to determine if it's rooted or not. Only until it gets back to HTC to be refurbished could they (HTC) find out but at that point it won't matter to anyone anyhow.
And it couldn't possibly be a software issue. There's something physically defective inside the device that caused it to die.
htc amaze 4g refuse to turn on.
hi all, i'm a newbie here, though i have always loved the XDA. I unlocked my bootloader last night, downloaded and reinstalled my fav apps since i didnt do a backup. while i was downloading the XDA app, my fone freezed and eventually went off. When i tried to get it back on, it got stuck on the white htc screen and later went off after some seconds. It has refused to come on till the time of this post. i really need urgent advice.
I was yet to install a recovery software before the tragedy occurred.
Today as I got home I noticed that my SGS3 had a blinking red light, tried turning the screen on...but it looked like it was frozen (but a little bit warmer than normal).
Took the battery out, put the battery back on, tried turning it on, and...nothing...
Connected it to the charger (original one) - no reaction.
It now looks completly dead.
I've tried connecting it do different chargers, different USB cables, directly to a PC, but neither the status light nor the screen react in any way.
I didn't flash any ROM for the last few months, and I didn't install anything new.
I think the phone just isn't charging (and I don't have any extra battery to try it out...)
I've recently moved to Zurich, (the phone itself was bought from amazon.de) can anyone tell me what is the warranty procedure here?
My condolences see link for more information

Was your phone overclocked at all by any chance? Or rooted in that matter? How long have you had the phone. If you've tried everything and the phone isn't turning on then we must know if your phone is rooted or not. If it is rooted then you might not be covered by warranty as they will know if you've flashed custom roms due to the binary counts on your phone..
If it is stock simply find the booklet and call the number or go to http://www.samsung.com and click support then click product service request have you imei and your serial number ready. and when you send of your phone off, make sure to send a photo copy of your receipt and your good to go. They will send you instructions to what you should send etc etc... Don't worry mate mines been in warranty once it came back with 2 weeks..
It was rooted but running official ROM... I hope they don't notice it
The instructions you give are the ones for the international samsung site.
From the swiss one I was only able to get a representative's phone number...let's see if I can talk to them in english tomorrow

Sorry about that at least you've found the right page good luck..
Try this...
I had the same issue, try charging the battery on a different S3. Even if the the charging animation doesn't come on leave it a few minutes. The battery might be soo drianed that it will take a while to charge. One you see the battery respond on the other phone put it back on your phone, turn it on and charge it turned on. Some how it seems that charging the phone while turned off screws your battery. Always try to charge the phone while its turned on.
