I have an AT&T SGIII, would like to know on the stock rom (going to check out the stock rom before I dive into some other rom's) if there is a way to get the CRT turn off screen?

Nope...it's gonna have to be a mod on a custom rom...even if it's just a stock deodexed rom.
Don't think on stock right now at least. But Diet ROM has it and works great.

Anyone have the original Samsung Touchwiz theme for my Note 2 that I can install?
Running Beans V7...
Thanks
Maybe just try a rom that doesnt have the aosp theme?!
Lol or just flash back to stock since beans rom is just a themed, modded, debloated variant of stock VRALJB.

Actually there are a few things I prefer about JellyBeans that are not stock and I am in the same boat, I would like to have the stock theme as well
Uhh....port the stock theme to his ROM?
This is a 100% stock flashable zip of the recently released 4.4.2 firmware for the P5220. As it is 100% stock, it is fully bloated, odexed, and non-rooted. If you wish to attain root you can do so by flashing superSU-2.02 zip from chainfire. As of right now, no other root method appears to be working, including towelroot.
Download link below.
A deodexed + rooted build is also available.
NOTE: if you flash the deodexed version and have problems with root, flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip from here. I don't anticipate any root problems, but just in case, this will fix it.
100% stock: P5220-4.4-stock(fixed).zip
Deodexed + rooted: P5220-4.4-stock-deodexed-rooted(fixed).zip
Anyone may feel free to use this as a base for their ROM. I only ask that you give me credit.
Just making sure... This ROM is the same as the one previously posted, correct?
Edit: Never mind. Answered my own question!
Just added a deodexed + rooted build. Enjoy!
Restl3ss, it would be great if you would post md5 values for your zip files. That way we can verify a good download. I suppose a zip that opens is uncorrupted, but many other developers offer MD5 values, so I mention it.
Thanks for your work in preparing the deodexed and rooted rom. Those of us with LTE don't have many options..... so we are very greatful.
I just flashed the deodexed version with TWRP. It hung on the boot screen Tab 3 for more than 20 minutes. So i reflashed. Same result. So I restored my backup and here I am....

Sorry, that one didn't work either. I wonder if the problem is TWRP? When I finished flashing the stock p5220, when I selected Reboot System, I got a message that said "You don't appear to be rooted. If you would like root, swipe to install SuperSU" Well, I wanted root, so I selected that. Then the tab hung o the boot screen just like before. So I re-entered recovery and installed the Update SuperSU 2.02. It still hung so I am again restoring backup.
Has anyone else installed either of these and if successful, what recovery did you use??????

Hmm
Did it hang on the first splash or the boot animation? Also which version of TWRP are you using, the one made by angel_666 or the one made by moonbutt74?
I have a hypothesis as to what the problem may be if it's on my end, but I want to make sure

HI,
It hung on the first splash - the one with white letters saying Tab 3 etc.
As far as the TWRP goes, I don't remember where I got it but the file was TWRPrecovery.tar.zip and inside that was recovery.tar.md5 of 16.24MB. I hope that helps. If you can suggest a better recovery, I'll install it.

Try installing philz adv recovery from this thread and try flashing again.

OK, I installed PhilZ and it seems to work fine. First I tried to flash your deodexed rom. Part way through the flash I got the message:
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E;Error in /sdcard/download/P5200-4.4-stock-deodexed-rooted.zip
(Status 7)
E: Installation aborted
So now I'm going to try the totally stock one.....
Same error again. Bummer because I forgot to make a PhilZ backup of my 4.2.2. I have a TWRP backup, but that's all.
Can someone provide a good link to a TWRP recovery for the p5220 LTE?
OK, I found one of Moonbutt's latest, installed it, restored my TWRP backup and have a working tablet again. I'm a little gunshy and will be slow to flash anything for a while....

@quijote1
Wait, I think I know what the problem is
and f**k do I feel stupid
the new KK firmware requires vendor be patched as symlinks get broken. I forgot to patch vendor on these zips, thus hanging. Remembered with the 3G one as I made it relatively close to the time I made the WiFi one. Completely forgot about it on the LTE ones.
My bad, pulling links until re-upload is done
links for patched / fixed versions are now up. All should be well
@quijote1
Would you be willing to test by chance?

Hooray, it worked. The ROM is installed but appears to lack root although I selected the rooted one. I suppose that I can flash the update supersu 2.07 zip and that will do the job. I'll read the OP first.....
Thanks!!!
Further update: the Gallery fc although the camera works. And Video and World Clock also force close. 3rd party photo and video players work fine. When I take a photo, a little icon of the new photo appears on screen, but if I click it, it force closes too. Otherwise the camera works fine.
I ran a script to debloatify that was posted in this forum. It was called SlimSammy and it removed a lot of crapware - group play, etc. I wonder if it screwed up something to do with photos and videos?
Nope, I reflashed the rom again with the same result. ..
However, with the exception of those those 3 apps force closing, the rom is decently zippy and seems stable. Antutu 21400!

Stock and lagging as heck. I have always rooted and am almost done with rooting the TMO S5. I am looking for a rom that is complete and does not lag. I have always used the Stock roms on my other samsung verizon phones and felt the most comfortable with them.
Which is the Fastest lag free rom for the TMO s5 and closest to stock minus bloatware etc.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I want to support the guy that made the hispasian kernel how do i do that.?
i am on f0j4 to use your area51 rom do i need to be on og6? is flashing back as simple as using the bootloader and stock modem tar's in odin and flash back? Then can I flash the v9.6 of your rom onto my phone through odin as well using the pds button? or do i need to find a 0g6 version of the rom and flash that first?

area51 is oj4. if you want to support hispasian kernel you can flash it over the kernel used in 51. You might need to install the correct supersu but i would think it would work fine.

I got rooted I am just getting ready to flash the new rom. I used the hispasian kernel and sent him some love.
I don't need to stay with it if there is something better to run with the area 51 rom.
My question now is as follows? I already am running f0j4 do i need to flash the stock modem and bootloader? Can I just skip those steps and go straight to the odin and flash the rom?

I guess it would depend on the method that was used for getting the phone to OJ4.
If it was a full install then your bootloader is OJ4 which the area51 is based off of.
My modem and bootloader is OJ4 however others have said OG6 works as well too.
If your OG6 or OJ4 then you dont need to flash a modem or bootloader.
Also Area51 and 9.6 are flashed in custom recovery not odin.

I got to Oj4 by OTA I assume. When I bought the phone off of Craigslist it came this way.
I maybe confused in regards to V9.6 and Area 51. I though that Area 51 was the rom and it was currently in Version 9.6.
I have downloaded it from the download tab on this forum link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...t/maverick-5-1-1-improved-edition-v2-t3159387
It says it is version 1 when I download it. Area 51 v1.zip to be precise.
I was also planning on following the instructions on this page #3 forum post to flash the rom. Is this wrong? Am I going in the wrong direction?

Post 3 is not needed if you are on OJ4 already. Area51 and 9.6 are different roms. you do need to flash in twrp and install the rom from within twrp.
so step 4 and 5.
malbert16442 said:
Step 4
Close and then reopen Odin, pull the battery for 30 seconds, pop back in and boot into download mode all with your phone disconnected from your computer. Now grab the TWRP recovery image from here https://dl.twrp.me/klte/ (I use 2.8.7.0) and place into the PDA button inside odin, uncheck F Reset Time and Repartition then flash or click start.
Step 5
When step 4 completes, now you can do the 3 finger boot into TWRP recovery to flash V9.4 of this ROM.

Just for future reference. This section is only for developing. There is a Q&A section where you can post for questions like this. No offense but people always go crazy when others post in the wrong section.
Busted my S4. My replacement is up and running, wanted to see what kind of ROM options are available for my new setup... used to run hyperdrive 21 but haven't kept up with development.
Android 5.0.1, vrugof1, currently running stock rooted.
