Update to Android 4.2.2 keeps failing - HTC One X+

Hey all,
A friend of mine has a bit of a weird problem with his HTC One X+. He received a notification from his phone that the update to Android 4.2.2 was ready to be downloaded and installed, which he did. The downloading went smoothly and afterwards his phone rebooted to install the update, but that's where it went wrong. You briefly see the installing icon but within a second a red question mark appears and the phone reboots again, still with the current version of Android installed (4.1.1). Just what could be the cause of the problem?

[Q] Unable to update after failed OTA

I got my Prime 2 days ago and after charging and powering it up for the first time, it began downloading a firmware update. I chose to install it, the Prime rebooted, and after the android logo with moving gears, it showed an android logo with an exclamation sign.
I rebooted it and then I got a notification that said "system update failed(2): unknown error". I then attempted to manually check for a firmware update, but I got "There is no update available for your device currently".
I tried copying the ASUS update zip to a microsd, I tried draining the battery, I did multiple factory resets, and it still won't update or even find OTAs.
I also tried with the installed version again (8.8.3.33) and even that resulted in the android + exclamation symbol.
Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue? Or at least what could be causing it?

[Q] P7500 (10.1 3G) OTA update frozen on 22%

Hello,
I started OTA update to android 3.2 on my dads galaxy tab 10.1 3G (original rom and unrooted, it downloaded successfully (89 or so megabytes).
Then it restarted and updated with no problems, but then notice came up that another update is possible (~39 megabyte size).
So I downloaded it and galaxy restarted to install update.
And now it is stuck at 22 percent on logo screen almost for 1 and a half hours...
What do I do?
I believe resetting it manually is far from safe?
Good lord, why do you use OTA update. There's the downloadable which is more stable , And Odin > Kies by a long shot, a very long one.
I didn't know better...
The thing is still on
I think you can cut it off? I'm pretty sure it needs to download it all, then install it first making it safe
Thanks,
I disconnected the thing and next reboot update went as it should, although very slow.

[SOLVED!] Any way to bypass HTC setup screen? Stuck on HTC logo all white.

Hello everyone!
I'm having some trouble right now, My phone was updated with the AT&T update because my phone prompted me about the update. I updated my phone and successfully updated the phone. I installed all of my backup apps from Titanium back, but when I restarted my phone after the apps were installed my phone booted up but said that NFC stopped working dailer stopped working, basically everything was not working - i couldnt even do anything with the phone. What I did was I tried doing a factory reset via TWRP but it didn't work. I also cleared the Dalvik and Cache but didnt work either.
I locked my bootloader and thought I would flash the RUU for my device. everything went fine untill the RUU displayed an "unknown bootloader version". I tried downloading the RUU again but it didnt seem to work.
I installed Elegancia through ADB install went through perfectly untill I reboot into the phone the HTC screen with the white background does not go anywhere. I occasionally get a pop up that says "stopped responding would you like to stop the program". I downloaded the Mongoose custom rom for my phone, again install went fine no problems. but once again when I boot into the phone I still get stuck on the HTC white background. This time the phone has a black screen with the status bar with the icons of the battery time and an x on the signal icon then the phone restarts.
What is going on with my phone? How can I reinstall an OS and get my phone working again?
any help would be greatly appreciated!
Since you have done the update, you will have to flash the ROM of this thread, everything you need to know is in this post.

[Q] Freshly installed 4.3 produces ghost OTA update notifications

I have installed Android 4.3 from occam image downloaded from Google to my Google Nexus 4. The phone has been rooted and set up with TWCR.
The problem is that every week or so the phone thinks there is an OTA OS update from Google: a notification icon pops up telling that an "update to Android 4.3" has been downloaded (update size 1.8M). The update "installs" in a second, boots into TWCR which offer to repairs root access (and I do), and then boots normally. There is no that "optimizing app N of M" lengthy process as with a real OS upgrade.
I confirmed that the build incremental version in /system/build.prop does not change; in fact, the build fingerprint is not changed by this "update":
Code:
ro.build.fingerprint=google/occam/mako:4.3/JWR66V/737497:user/release-keys
Why does this happen and what may I try to do to prevent this?
same issue happened yesterday with my phone

My wife's all stock Nexus 4 with Android 4.3 got an update notification today, and run an upgrade that did not change anything in the "About phone" page. Unlike mine, thought, it did the "Optimizing application X of Y" step after a reboot.
So maybe there was a systemic glitch which just coincided with my phone re-flash? This explanation would hold if I do not see any more of these "updates" coming in the next few weeks.
Hi kkm000
today I unroot my phone and flash stock recovery and then successfully installed the update.
version of the build changed from JWR66V to JWR66Y
