I'm on a rooted S5 on Touchwiz running Xposed and a handful of modules. No vibration, including custom ones I can create, are close to loud enough for me to hear at work, which is a problem because at my job I get a lot of calls at random times from my boss. I have tried using Vibe, which actually allowed me to download a vibration loud enough to hear at work, but it replaces your SMS service's vibration notification, and it constantly puts itself into silent. I have not been able to find where the vibration is downloaded on my phone using Androzip or through my computer via USB, I am under the impression Vibe is not set up to allow you to export the ringtones you download. I am new to rooted phones, so I do not know my way around my system well enough to know if this is the case or not. I tried downloading a loud wav vibration file, but it is only available as a text notification sound, not a vibration. I do not want to have to go in and change my ringer and my notification tone and back every time I go to work, on lunch, and leave the building if I do not have to. Do any of you know how I can either edit my vibration setting to apply one of the ones I have already found, where I can download a very loud vibration tone my phone will actually recognize and let me apply, or if there is another app such as Vibe or an Xposed module that is actually working? I've been looking for almost a week now, I figured it was time to throw out all the details and ask. If anyone is able to help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. What could be better than the appreciation of a guy with one post?

Hi, I've looked and looked for this.
I was using "Missed Call," But I'm looking for an app that's slightly different. Has anyone ever found one:
An app that repeats notifications on new sms's and missed calls, but will stop the repeat notifications once you press any button (don't have to pass the lock screen).
I noticed an android issue that's 2 years old: (sorry, no links new user, android issue 1027) and perhaps this is not possible at all? If not, would it be possible with root or a custom rom like cyanogen?
Most feature phones can do this, I found that turning off a notification is really hard when i'm in a meeting and the thing rings until I can open it, unlock it, drag down the menu, and clear it.
I have searched all the forums, all the sites i could possible look into, but i couldnt find one thing.
Yesterday i rooted my phone, instaled JellyBam custom rom, which is awesome etc. But one thing keeps buging me. Before this, i used simple stock rom, and used stock app to send sms. There was like a whole tab of simple android heads smileys, where i could have spammed them and click like letters. And now what, all i can do is to acces through menu and click and insert only one smiley. if i want to add more i have to repeat the same actions again and again, its quite annoying. Is there a way to make a button which would show whole smileys layout?
P.S. I'd like to use Emojis but most of people im texting doest have it, so they see just squares.
Also, when i make a call or take a call, and talk, i can hear my own voice through speakers where i should hear only callers voice, this never happened with Stock rom and kernel. Any thoughts?
I am new to my rezound. My rezound is about less than a week old. Is there any way to increase the vollume on this device for the ringtone and notifications like when you receive a text or email? If its in my pocket and im driving somewhere forget it. I wont hear it. The vibration motor isnt stong too compared to my old droid 2. I love this rezound phone. But i am not happy with the voullume sounds. I tried to do some digging and read that its because of the ice cream sandwich software download. it wasnt like this with gingerbread? If not can I go back to gb. I dont know what advantages ics does over gb. but if im in another room than my phone is at home i wont hear it. I dont think there are apps to my knowledge that increase ringtone and notifications. I appreciate any help on this matter. Cause I am still trying to figure this one out. Thanks for your help.
S-off your phone and you can go back to GB if you want and also you might want to try Newts rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501512 when I tried it, volumes were super loud with it.

I am a little confused on what u said. I appreciate ur help though. I am a newb with the software thing part of the phone. Can you please explain to me step by step what I have to do? I don't mind going back to gb or doing what ever you had when your phone was super loud. Thanks again.
Not really much you can do unless your phone is actually broken (in which case get a new one). Maybe make a louder ringtone?
Try these ideas:
Go to Settings --> Sound, General --> Volumes --> verify that your 'Ringtone & notifications' is turned up to the volume you desire. Call yourself from another phone to test the volume setting. If this is already set to 'max' and you're still unhappy with the volume level, try the next suggestion.
Go to Settings --> Sound --> Incoming Calls, Pocket mode --> check the box (doing so will increase the ringer volume while your phone is in your pocket or handbag). If you've already tried this suggestion, try the next one.
If that doesn't work, change your ringtone to one that's loud and high pitched. The higher pitched ring tones 'sound' louder because you can hear them over the background noise of say, a car, or a shopping center.
Do you have problems hearing people when you're on a phone call? If not, then your speaker is ok and your issue is more than likely, the ringtone itself. Some ringtones are barely audible. I've tried a few that I really liked, but some of them were nearly impossible to hear - ever. The ringtone I use now is called Standard 3 on my phone. I've collected ringtones from each of my phones over time so I've added a bunch. You might not have the same one. For me, Standard 3 is super loud and I have to remember to turn my phone ringer down when I go into a restaurant or quiet store. It sometimes scares the bejeebies outta me! Lol!
I'm using stock ICS and there's nothing wrong with the volume on my phone so it's unlikely that the ROM is the problem on yours. Try different ringtones and you might find one that's interesting and loud. Zedge is an app you can load from the Android Market and you can download tons of free ringtones, wallpapers and other cool stuff. I'm sure you can find something there that you'd like.
Good luck!
HI all,
Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, I did search this particular forum and found another similar thread, but didn't want to revive a dead, old thread. Instead I wanted to be more detailed.
I just got the Z2 and love it, but while listening to music I am still getting notification sounds from Hangouts, GMail etc. The handset is in silent mode and the default notification is set to "None" and yet the sounds still play, they don't play when I am unplugged as normal, only when listening to music.
I am running the latest .313 release. If anyone can help that'd be great, if this is a bug and Sony haven't fixed it I will send them an email. At this point I would happy with an Xposed module at the least as this is frankly a really annoying bug that makes no sense at all.

there is notification setting inside gmail and hangout and lots of other apps
so u need to change that setting ...
:good:
So, I have done that for now and it seems to have stopped it, but this is stupid behavior on Sony's part. I just came from a Nexus 5 and this was not the same on the N5, if my phone was silent, that was it. My phone wouldn't play me sounds at all. Sony however, think that even when I am in silent, I should still be notified audibly when I am on the phone and listening to music....
Anyway, thank you for your little workaround! I will send their support line an email, maybe if enough of us do it they will fix this stupid behavior.
Tom.
I finish using my phone, I turn off the screen, I put it down and a few seconds later it plays the (quite loud) audio for a probiotic gummy ad. Anyone know what I have to drive a stake through so this never happens again? No indication of anything on the screen or notifications after I picked it back up and looked at it.

Its got to be an app that you installed that did this. My wife had the same issue. After every phone call she would get a loud ad. She messed around for a few days and found out that an app she installed that allows her an easy way to take notes while on the phone. The app would open during the call and then at the end of the call it would play an ad.
No way around it other than to block ads or find a diff program or pay for it if you can to subvert the ads.
Weirdly, I haven't installed any new apps for a while. Must be an "improvement" in an existing app, but which one is the question.
