Questions about Stock ROM - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Hi i bought my Mega 6.3 (i9205) in france i didn't know if it factory unlocked now i move on the philippines due to work here i found out when i plugged a philippine carrier sim the sim is detected but no signal aside of that i know that my Stock Rom is XEF(France) it is possible to flash a Philippine Region Stock ROM for i9205?
Philippines
Product Code: XTC
PDA: I9205XXUCNA3
CSC: I9205OLBCNA3
my current rom
Product Code: XEF
PDA: I9205XXUCNA2
CSC: I9205OXXCNA1
MODEM: I9205XXUCNA2

If it detects your sim and displays the carrier/provider, then it should be unlocked.
If you bought it brand new, then the phone sim slot might be defective.
If you bought it used, then the previous owner might have messed up the efs.
Did you try to use it after you bought it in France? And did it work?

Be honest you bought it in the grey market HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
So is it kimstore or widget city? ))))))))))))))))))))))
You can flash any rom but obviously it would be better to flash a ph rom
I flashed an HK rom before

lol no and i didn't know that kimstore and widget city, by the way i'm not rooted how will i supposed to flash that firmware thank you.

Hehe sorry bro, its just that all the grey market phones here are either from france or uae, these come cheaper but without a warranty.
Just look for a guide on flashing a samsung rom using odin, its easy but you have to read the instructions clearly. You dont need to be rooted.
Which telecom do you use? Globe, smart or sun?
If you want the best signal, go for globe or smart
Best internet, smart unless you stick to CBD areas then Globe
LTE capable sims are different from regular sims but cost more
Try all 3 telecoms if I were you, prepaid sims cost peanuts here anyway. They go for p40 which is less than a euro
Oh, they could have sold you an expired sim card, try another sim card

[Q] How can I find out from which country my S3 is?!

Hi,
Long story!
I got an S3 from a friend who need help because it was very slow and whatnot, anyways, he also told me that this S3 is not from UAE but it's working fine here, just very slow.
I said well, I will install a UAE firmware and hard rest it, which I did but ever since, I get this NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK.
I read every possible thread about this issue here and elsewhere and tried all methods like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z6zTfe-sC4
None of it worked out for me.
I tried another Android firmwares (4.3 Etisalat UAE, 4.2.1 Etisalat UAE and finally 4.3 T-Mobile Germany)
The reason, I chose Germany is because when I did first the hard reset before installing the UAE firmware, the phone was in German, so I had to choose English.
Now, obviously something in the UAE firmware is not compatible with the phone, maybe modem, basband...I don't know.
How do I know which firmware to download from sammobile and from which country.
I'm not even sure that it's Germany! It could be Austria, Swiss and even Germany has many operators, O2, T-mobile, Vodafone etc......
Is it even possible to restore the phone to it's very original software after trying all of these Firmwares? I doubt it.
One more thing, from the threads I read here and there about this problem, this issue has to do with the IMEI but it's not my case I think.
When I hit *#06# I get a regular IMEI, nothing lost.
PLEASE HELP!
Thank You in advance
Take it back to your friend. It's either stolen and imei blacklisted or region locked now you updated it to 4.3.
Search and read to find out more.

This friend of mine works at the Norwegian Embassy and his phone he got it from the Norwegian staff there, but it was bought outside the country.
And he has been using it for over a year .
Anyways, I went to samsung and it's either software or motherboard because the IMEI is showing on the device meaning it's written on the software but it got corrupted on the hardware.
will see
waiting for their call

S6 Edge probably unlocked by former owner change stock rom

I used to have an unbranded S6 Edge after selling it I missed it so much so I got a secondhand one yesterday. After factory reset, the first thing it did was install all kinds of Vodafone apps. As a TMobile user with a Tmobile Simcard I guess the Phone has been unlocked by the former owner. Or can Vodafone do this and still have all the apps installed?
I would like to flash the unbranded Dutch stock rom on in but in case the former owner did sim unlock it would I loose the sim unlock then? Is there a way to tell the Phone has been software unlocked or through the carrier?
Rght now it has Baseband G925FXXU4DPIT and MMB29K.G925FXXU4DPJG Buildnummer
And I would like to flash PDA:G925FXXU4DPJH CSC:G925FPHN4DPJE
Thanks in advance,

Flashing a stock ROM should not lose the sim lock. Network lock isn't done by software flashing. It's done with the imei. You should be able to flash any stock ROM including branded firmware and you won't lose the unlocked network

Which firmware region do i need?

Hello,
i use the software XperiFirm to download firmwares for my Z5C.
I live in Austria but there are only three providers in the list from Austria.
I have a phone without any branding and i don't know which one i should use because i am not a user of any of this providers.
Is it possible to use for example the T-Mobile firmware even if i don't have a T-Mobile Sim Card?
And is it also possible to use a Firmware from another country?
Best regards
Zillinda

there might be problem with sim card if you flash USA roms cause they more restriction & ...
but other than that you flash any official firmware with same android version.
:good:
Normally you can use any version for E5823.
The difference between the austrian roms are that providers pack some of their apps into the rom( like "a1 apps" or "mein a1" for example. If you want a rom without provider apps you can use the customized de version for germamy for example.
However you could of course run into a little problem by using a rom from another country that i had myself.
From what you said, i assume you are neither using a1, t-mobile nor drei as your provider. All of the other providers in austria like bob, hot or upc are using the network infrastructure of one of the those 3 big providers by national roaming.
However his could result in you to have allow roaming all the time to use mobile data. Could cause costs if you live near the boarder or if you forget to turn of when you leave country.
I had this problem with the customized de firmware for germany with which i got my device. My provider "Ge org" wasn't recognized correctly. After flashing the A1 firmware( Ge org is using A1 network) all works properly.

Hello, thanks for your answer.
My provider is HoT and it's using the infrastructure of T-Mobile. When i flash the T-Mobile Firmware do i still get the OTA updates and what about the warranty?

I also believe this should be the best choice for you.
If you stay unrooted you should have no problems with OTA updates. Warranty should be afaik no problem if you don't unlock your bootloader, which is not needed to install another stock rom. However i don't know for sure, cause i don't care much about warranty since i repair hardware issues on my devices by myself

That's up to you.
A dirty flash should run and work properly. But a dirty flash (especially when your data and apps is the same as when you where using Android 6.0) can result in unexpected behavior:
- Crashing apps
- Wakelocks
- Battery drain
...
So it's always better to do a clean install when you upgrade to android 7.0
If you don't care about the possibility of instable behaviour or battery inefficiency, then a dirty flash (keeping your data/apps) will be much easier/faster.

Can the Snapdragon S9+ (G9650) be used for VoLTE in the Netherlands?

I recently moved to the Netherlands and got a contract with Tele2, a 4G provider that offers VoLTE. However, my Latin American, Snapdragon-based S9+ (SM-G9650) didn't show the VoLTE option under Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks. That was with a ROM from Panama. In the meantime, my wife's S8 (SM-G950F) did show it.
I tried installing a G9650 ROM from Colombia since they have a mobile provider with VoLTE, but nothing changed. I then tried a Hong Kong ROM (where pretty much *all* providers offer VoLTE), and the button appeared in the notifications area. However, when I try to enable it I get "VoLTE is not supported by your current software version".
Any suggestions? Thanks
VoLTE is really a country specific feature. Hong Kong version won’t support China’s Volte, though China Mobile operates both in Hong Kong and mainland China

Ouch... Unfortunately the SM-G9650 isn't even sold by European carriers. Any ideas?
Thanks
If you're going to live on the Netherlands sell it and buy the European version or stick with the SD without VoLTE.

Is there no ROM I can install on my Snapdragon S9+ that will allow me to use VoLTE in the Netherlands? I see no reason for the phone to be incompatible if it supports all the bands, etc.
Thanks

Active CSC Code: TPA
CSC Country: Panama / PA
Mobile Operator: Tele2 NL / 20402
Remove your SIM Card, do a Hard Reset, boot the device, insert your SIM Card then it should factory reset again and start with another CSC.

It's supposed that it'll do.
Did this work for anyone? (Remove the sim, insert etc) I'm aiming to get VoLTE on tmobile and need to change the CSC code as well.

That wont work, the CSC is embedded into the firmware for that specific region. Unless you change the firmware to the region you're in you're out of luck. In some cases the CSC is also carrier specific even in the same region.

Korean s9Plus

Hi Guys Im using a SM-G965N in the UK, when I try to register for the Pie Beta it give me the message "Your sim card doenst match the service provider software on your phone. This is common if you've changed service providers or if your phone and SIM card are from different country's" Im using the 3 network in the UK and the phone is LGu... Anyone have any work around..?
Anyone? I have exactly same problem. I got sm-g965n with LG Uplus carrier living in other country. Can i just flask stock firmware in my region to get rid of all the bloats and also is there a way for me to participate in pie beta? I can also swap this one with carrier unlocked SD845 version. Can i flash US stock on that one also?
Hi guys, I'm running into a similar issue with G965F device in Canada.
Here's what I've been able to piece together. Each device is a hardware variant and can use a specific set of firmware variants (sometimes called Multi-CSC). Your hardware variant is G965N. And if you look at sammobile for hardware variant, you can see the set of firmware available for this specific device. Unfortunately for you, there is ONLY Korean firmware for this hardware variant. For me, I have many more options but still no Canada!
It it completely inadvisable to flash the firmware onto your device that is not specifically tailored to your hardware. It's especially stupid when the firmware is tailored for an entirely different chipset (for example, Exynos firmware for Snapdragon hardware). But even if the devices use the same chipset, there may exist other hardware differences that will cause instability/errors/ bricks/unknown.
So as far as I can tell, we're all screwed. Have a nice day
Great news. I got into Pie Beta with my g965n. I was about to change my phone when i found LG Uplus sim card in my country. I put the sim card in and was able to register and download OTA. Now i am on android pie.

I found it almost by luck. I was at this phone store when i randomly asked from a lady selling smart phones whether she had Lg Uplus sim card or not and she said yeah i got few. You can have one. That is how i found one. I wouldn't be able to ship it outside country without reliable shipping service in my country.
