I just got my Atrix replaced today because of the wifi error issue and I can't figure out how to unlock and root the phone now. On my previous Atrix I was running CM7.
It's running Android 2.3.4 and I keep reading that you can't use RSDlite (which I tried) to do the traditional fastboot unlock. How do I unlock the bootloader and root it now?

i can't update my unit via pc companion because is unlocked, so i need to re-lock now i know ajehe
sir thank you
Your Phone is rooted :S
You have a rooted phone, done through offcial sony bootloader unlock website, because of this sony knows, ur imei and thus if you will try to install official updates from companion, it will show you a error, and so i suggest you to download the latest 4.0.3 from other sources and flash it on ur phone using CWM!

General - Question & Answer section is not a place where everyone can open a new thread with the own question. It is needed to search before, read the sticky threads, read the wikis, read and read once again, and post in an existing thread, if necessary. Repetitive topics will be deleted/closed without previous notice. Topics like 'urgent help' or 'do I brick my phone?' and so will be deleted/closed. Infractions issued to reiterative members. I know this is a noob question, but I have spent last several days trying to figure out how to unlock bootloader, and i am exhausted. Please help
I know that i have to unlock the bootloader first, recovery, nandroid, to ADB.. to ROM. I just cant seem to get off the ground.
I have read the forums to unlock the bootloader, but it has not been working. I think it's the fact that this has the OTA that make those forum threads obsolete.
I would greatly appreciate to those that can lead to me the right direction.
Thanks in advance.

I want to get Nougat back after bootloader unlock and need to find my firmware file which was US99810d (Nougat 7.1.2). That's why I wanted to avoid the Oreo flash in the first place, because now I can't find the firmware file for Nougat.
How can I find that file and is flashing back as easy as using the modded LGUP software?

It's the US998 Nougat KDZ thread, in the ROMs section.

Search?
Go here, type in US998 Nougat KDZ into the search box you see on the right side of the forum box in a web browser, where it says "Search this forum".

Yes.
People do it all the time for Frankenstein to convert to US998 from other North American variants -- either for bootloader unlock or to carrier unlock their phone from Sprint LS998 or AT&T H931. They have to go down to US998 Nougat first, then Master Reset, then go to US998 Oreo.

seconds later I had already updated with asking the confirmation if it's the right link, but thanks for being a jerk that, instead of taking the same time to provide the link, instead writing to search for myself and hope I got the right one, which, although I did already do it before you wrote that, comes off very abrasive and annoying. And thanks, I'm not an idiot, I know how to read, jerk.

Why does answering you upset you so much?
Because I pointed out you don't know how to search the XDA forum? You asked for link without bothering to search, when I told you the name of the thread and where to find it. I thought that would be enough information. After I told you how to search, that seems to be when you searched.
Apparently updating a post a few seconds later with more information doesn't count with you, so don't bother to tell me you updated your post. I did the same tonight in the other thread and you acted like I did something nefarious -- by adding more complete information to help you.
I answered when I answered in this thread -- and I tend to act towards people as they act towards me.
I answered your questions about bootloader unlock in the Oreo thread. You either didn't like the answer because you wanted a different answer (you kept asking the same question repeatedly even though I gave you the answer the first time) -- or you couldn't be bothered to actually read it well. Or combination of both?
I wrote the instructions for bootloader unlock -- so if I answered you about bootloader unlock it was to give you the best, accurate information.

Stop being an a-hole. First, I did search, second, although I did, it's not perfectly clear if by me searching I will get the right result... you know what, I'm done talking to you and justifying myself in the face of your rude and disrespectful way of talking to other members.
You disgust me.
Goodbye.

By the way you posted in the wrong section, so I reported to a mod and your post will be moved to where you should have posted it -- in Q&A.
Nothing I have said is rude. I only pointed out I had to answer you three times before you actually read what I wrote and that infuriates you for some reason. The question was simple, the answer was simple. For some reason you wanted to make it into an argument because I told you I had already answered your question when you asked it again, and again, and again.
