[Q] Create Folder in App Drawer? - Sprint LG G3

I am probably just missing it, but is there a way to make folders in the app drawer screen? I have the default google folder but I can't seem to create my own (or remove any apps from the google folder). Thanks.

Pretty sure you just drag one app on top of the other to create a folder. Then just drag other apps in to add.

Right, but it seems like that can only be done on the home screen panels, not in the app drawer.

Go to app drawer, tap menu, tap "view apps by" and select "user customized".
While you're still in app drawer tap menu again, select "edit/uninstall apps"
Now drag an icon onto another icon to place them into a folder together.
While in edit mode you can open a folder and drag all the apps out of it to delete the folder.

Yes you can use Launcher Pro to do this. Just press and hold on the screen and Shortcut is at the top of the list.
Sorry think that gives apps etc not a single file ( assuming like a word document)
Edit: might be worth trying a folder widget and see if you can place a file in it, at least it would be quicker to get to that way instead of going through the menu system.
Astro file manager allows you to do that. Once installed, press and hold the screen, choose shortcut, choose astro, that will fire up astro and allow you to navigate to the file you want as a shortcut, just select that file and it will place it on your home screen as a shortcut in Touchwiz, Launcherpro etc.
Anycut in the mkt.
Thanks guys ;-)
I found a app. Adao file Manager - it does the job 70% (it can make a shortcut to a folder - not a file) -
I will give astra a try one of the comming days.
Thanks for all the answers
I installed Astro File Mamager - its working perfect. It can make shortcut both to a file and to a folder. Thanks

[Q] I cannot arrange apps inside folers

Is there any solution? It's frustrating. I want ABC arrangement, but when I install some new game and its name starts eg from A, I have to get every app outside of the folder, to the app drawer, then RE-arrange the apps by name. So, please help. ;-;
BUMP people? Noone? Or noone cares?
Do you mean when you click on applications and the apps are all spread out on different pages?
If so just click the call button on your phone and select list view and your apps will be in alphabetical order.
Also i recommend this app i have it myself
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.abcOrganizer&hl=en
don't folders have a list alphabetically setting?
For me, Appzorter Lite has proven to be the best. It's primary job is to alphabetically sort the apps on the launcher, but if you go into settings you can also have it arrange the apps inside your folders. It can also fill out gaps if you choose to manually move some applications to another page on the launcher. Very nice app!
I mean this:
http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/6716/sc20110821015013.png
To arrange the apps inside the folders by name(a-z). I tried the Appzorter, but it screwed my other apps inside Touchwiz's appdrawer. I only want it for folders.
I realised after some trial and error that you need to use Appzorter's sort as well as fill gaps features, then restart the phone. I believe that should work. I don't think there's an app or drawer that allows you to add folders and only sort apps within the folders.

Organizing App drawer

Last night I made make folders and organized my app drawer. I am so anal that I even alphabetized the apps inside the folders. The "edit alphabetize" worked ok for the folders themselves but not for the apps inside. I found that by dragging them in in alphabetical order, I could satisfy myself HOWER...
Today, I tried to go back and make some changes in my app drawer folders and I can't figure out how to get inside the folders to remove an app. I am sure I did it yesterday. Duh!
Home - Applications - Menu - Edit - View Type - Customizable grid
will allow new folders and moving of folders but how do I rearrange or delete apps inside those folders????
Thank you for any help here!
open the folder and long press the app you want to remove

Creating folders

I am having issues creating folders. I have tried several launchers and cannot do it with any of them. (I know that go launcher will work when you drop apps on top of each other. But there is an issue with rebooting and the widgets reloading. I know there is a fix for this but I am not good enough to fix this.
Does any one know of any other launcher that allows for the dropping of apps to create folders? I have tried HCL ICL launcher pro, adw...the paid and free, zeam and regina 3d. So any help would be great!
I have folders working fine on ADW EX. Can you describe what the issue is? Mine created just fine when I dropped one app on top of another.

Go Launcher EX will do what you want. I've got several folders on my desktop that I created by dropping one app on top of another.

I know I can with Go Launcher...but like I stated before in the OP.....when i use GO and restart my NT the widgets don't load. I know there is a fix for this but I am not good enough at this to get it to work.
I have tried the drag and drop with ADW ex but cannot get a folder made on my droidtop. I know I can create groups in the app draw though. And actually that might not be a bad idea.
I dont like using ADW ex though because for sone reason on my NT I cannot use the top half inch or so of the screen. Have you had that issue also? I am using a a version of ADW EX I downloaded off of mobilism
I use ADW launcher. Long press screen where you want to put the folder(s). "Add to Home Screen" pops up. Select "Folders" from popup. "Select Folders" pops up. Select "New folder". A folder is created on the screen. Long press new folder to change name or delete. Long press folder to place anywhere on the screen or move to one of the other screens. Open app drawer and drag apps to folder.

The fix is to move your Go launcher (all launchers really so they work perfectly) into your system/apps folder.
- Download root explorer or use file expert and enable root explorer mode
- go to system/app folder, hit 'r/w' (read/write mode - normally is r/o - read only)
- go back up, go to data/app, long press on the go launcher.apk (com.go.launcher? or something), 'MOVE'
- go to system/app, hit paste
- long press on the com.go.launcher file you just pasted, click permissions, check all boxes (777 I think should work for this?) in the permissions square (so nine things in a square checked).
- hit r/o on top to make the folder read/only,
- reboot the nook.
It sounds more complicated than it is (it's easier than rooting your device), just *don't* change the permissions of, say, /system entirely, or set other files' permissions to something else. Afaik, the other launchers should have issues loading widgets too unless they're moved to the system/app folder (maybe).
The easiest thing would be to have it installed into /system/app from the get go through the rooting script.
Also, as mentioned in the other thread (although buried in the ebook moving discussion), folder creation seems a bit broken in Go Launcher (on NTs) so you need to drag two icons on top of each other and a folder is created!

that might be possible with the nook color but this cannot be down with the nook tablet. This is something that has been blocked in the NT's. I know how to add folders when it works right. I have an X2 and have it hacked to hell.

Folders in App Drawer

OK, I did the search and came up nothing. But I noticed that Google managed to put a folder in the app drawer, how can I?
Open app drawer
Open menu
Select view apps by
Select "custom"
Open menu again
Select "edit/uninstall apps"
Now just drag an app over another and it will create a folder.
Once you create a folder, you can sort apps however you want again. By editing them from any view now, you can add to that folder.

So cool... Thanks... There is still a lot I need to learn... :highfive:
Nice... now how do I remove that damn Google folder and put the apps in it back in the app drawer where they belong?
(edit) Found out how. https://www.reddit.com/r/LGG3/comments/3aehbx/how_to_remove_google_folder_in_app_drawer/
