Google apps and YouTube not working after eclipse 2.3 install - Motorola Droid X2

I just installed eclipse 2.3 on my droid X2 2.3.5 Everything seems to be working okay except Google play or YouTube won't let me install anything always says connection timed out if I go to look at my apps installed it says connection timed out. Did I miss something during the install? Also Trying to check the weather with the built-in weather service app Andison no connection however I can browse the web and post on here using my droid

2.3.5 I tried resetting the time and clearing cache but that made no difference. I did a factory reset and now YouTube loads and plays videos but pretty slowly. And google play will show all the links on it's home page but once you click on one it just tried to load it and then says connection time out.

I'm new to flashing. I've only flashed my moto triumph. And this phone. I'm assuming you mean flash the eclipse 2.3 with v6 nandroid? 76mb?

Two Methods two fix this.
Hey..
I know only two methods to fix this..
1. Either this is a server problem.. so try using a vpn.
2. If you are rooted, download Root Browser. Now, go to System/etc and delete a file named "hosts".
This should do the trick.
~Hit Thanks if I helped

Deleting the hosts file did not help unfortunatly. Nothing has changed. I'm not familiar with creating VPNs

@4S4D_4SS4SSiN Motorola Droid's are a little different than other android devices, so the usually fixes don't always apply.

And what will this do? I'm just curious of its purpose

Cool. Just to verify I go into bsr and backup everything. Then I delete data / factory reset phone, delete cache and delkvik cache and then flash the nandroid eclipse 2.3 rom and should be ready to go?

Just try it... You don't need a custom ROM for it..

Problem running 'Jellybeans' build 20

So I just installed the 'Jellybeans' build 20 running the saber kernel and everything is great except for one major problem. For the life of me I can't access my downloads folder. I've used ES file explorer, FX file explorer and the only way that I can open and get into the folder is to access with root. Nothing in the folder can be deleted period, and nothing can be added either. Whenever I try to download anything through chrome/etc.. that goes into the downloads folder it comes up as a failed download.
I don't download with chrome. I think chrome is broken for downloading I use stock browser for that...

You might have to get into twrp and wipe internal storage then reflash a rom.. That will get rid of that for ya like a fresh clean phone with nothing on it

I've never had any issues with Chrome/Chrome Beta. Beta is actually faster than the stock browser IMO in terms of loading/closing the app.
I'd go into twrp, fix permissions, and check the permissions of your download folder. sounds like it is a permissions issue.
Tried all of that with no luck. I managed to fix the issue by backing up all my data then formating my phone from twrp. Reflashed jellybeans and now all is good. I just wish I knew what caused the problem..

I got exactly the same problem. It happened with my ROM-SLOT-1 running 13.3.2.4.
Right now I have no idea how to fix it. Wiping cache and dalvik chache didn't help. I guess I will have to erase /data which means factory reset.
The last option would be to restore the backup of the original ROM.
Please guys, there must be an easy way to get this fixed.
Any ideas?
If I remember correctly, you need to re-enable OTA updates and sign into your Amazon account.

Thanks, will try next time.
This time I used the factory-default setting on stock rom which killed all of my slots and installations
Hey,
i've the same problem.
I can't configure anything because I only gets an language menu loop.
I've saved my "TWRP" folder so I can restore the factory defaults with this folder right?
Best regards
...me too. But I´ve no backup
Any other suggestion?
Cheers
I destroyed everything... I didn't know how to use the "TWRP" folder and the wrong thing and erased my ROM stock...
After this I installed 13.3.2.6.zip via adb sideload.
Now the kindle hdx 7 starts but I already have the same problem like before. Lanuage menu loop
---------- Post added at 06:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:09 PM ----------
I think i fixed the problem. (or find a workaround)
After this my fire hdx work like "normal" without loop.
1. select your language
2. after this directly the homescreen will shown for 1 second.
3. click the silk browser, now the browser is open
4. visit towelroot.com and download tr.apk (click on lamda)
5. go back the language menu will be there... but do the first two steps
6. click search, apps
7. install a file explorer (e.g. ES File explorer)
8. run the tr.apk
9. install superuser.apk
10. reboot
Now the languagemenu isn't there.
my oppinion is that we don't have enough rights and with su and root our choice will be applied.
after a few min I get the language menu loop
sorry for my english

Try deleting the device from your amazon account on the amazon-website.
Do a factory erase on the device if necessary (you may wanna try clearing dalvik cache and cache first).

I did a recovery (TWRP) then I copied the twrp folder from my old backup on the kindle fire hdx and restored from this folder.

[Q] Problem with my Phone

Using Latest Venom Rom.
A 'pictures' folder keeps appearing on my phone and it will not let me delete it, share it, or anything.
Won't let me take screenshots anymore either.
there is a text file inside the 'picture' folder and here is what it says:
"Failed to open the file (java.io.IOException
at com.estrongs.android.pop.app.PopNoteEditor$1.run(P opNoteEditor.java:237)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java)
)"
-----------
I've tried wiping caches, factory reset, fully install Rom from scratch, but get same error.
Any Ideas?
I've been trying for days now.
Wiped Cache, Davlik Cacher, done a full restore, factory reset and re-installed Venom Rom...still getting same errors.
So installed Android Revolution from scratch, STILL exactly same issues.
Surely somebody can help me??
thanks
Matt

[Discussion] What are you doing now that you can root?

Personally I've deleted a couple unnecesary apps that were wasting space, and intend to make Chrome an option for Dual Window again as soon as I figure out how (it was removed, I believe in 11b, and the flex multi window mod is unable to enable it).
As more things occur to me, I'll do more things. What do you all plan to do?
So far, I've only installed greenify and titanium backup.. I'm honestly trying to figure out what else I want to do (been out of the root scene for about a year and a half between this and my old turbo, which didn't receive root until the time I got my v10)

It's cause you already have backups stored. Double check your SD card files.

It's either the LG Backup folder in your SDCard or the TitaniumBackup folder. Otherwise I would scan your SDCard.

Tried editing to enable dual window with buildprop editor, rebooted into a bootloop. Recovery has the option to enable USB debugging. Using this, is it possible to undo the change in (for example) terminal emulator, rewriting the original line? That way I wouldn't have to factory reset. I already tried wiping the cache (wasn't expecting it to work, but it seemed harmless).
