[Q] Apply more than 1 theme? - Themer General Discussion

Is there any way to use more than 1 theme? There's a couple of other launchers that will give you the choice of applying a new theme or merging it with the current one.
If not, is there a way to do it in the zip?

Hi,
Unfortunately not yet. You are able to keep the widgets, however we will only look at merging screens in the future. You can easily apply a new theme though by long pressing on the homescreen and selecting Browse Themes

[Q] Themes and icons

Having just moved from an iPhone im still learning here so bear with me. It seems as installing custom themes and/or customizing app icons is not as easy as installing winterboard and throwing a theme up. I'm a big buuf/mattahan fan and I've had that theme on my iphone since my 2G. After doing some research it seems that there are a couple of ways to change an app icon. First I could open up the .apk and insert the new icon, then resign the package and put it back on the phone. Second there seems to be an app called metamorph which is similar to winterbord but only works on certain phones.
Am I missing some easier way? I'm willing to spend some time on a package that I could share with others if I knew how.
Thanks

Metamorph does work on the vibrant if you were wondering
Some theme makers also make update.zip's that you can flash from recovery, but most prefer metamorph because its more universal.
also if you use a replacement launcher like ADW launcher which is on the market, then you can download themes from the market and simply choose them from the launchers menu.
In fact I beleive ADW launcher has a buuf theme.
theres also a keyboard app on the market called better keyboard that has a buuf theme (better keyboard is a paid app though)

[THEME][ZIP][HCDeskClock]

makes it so much nicer.
anyways.. just changed .png's ... all of them.. hdpi and mdpi, tested at 210&160, everything seems fine including widget.
so there it is enjoy, dont forget to comment and hit thanks
Let me know what else you might like to see themed.
Can u theme the lock screen?
Sent from the Unstoppable SuperStreak!
probably, its all in framework-res.
what do you want the honeycomb lockscreen? try ripple lock in the market. Its not too bad actually, except his lock icon is b0rked, cut off at the top.
what did you have in mind?
post a link..
edit: who uses a lock screen? just kidding, I have NoLock, I love it.
but really, I have the honeycomb font on my lockscreen using fontchanger, and custom sliders and tabs made with UOT Kitchen. Thats all I can do for themeing.
If you want a different stlye lockscreen that would have to coded/ported. I would say try lockscreen widget etc. or use NoLock.

I have NoLock, free in market..
just kidding, be back soon
here's my lockscreen..
the jog tabs and circles are in framework-res, so let me know what ROM you're running, and I could drop them into a stock ROM, you can get the ones I have on UOT Kitchen. Or if you have a custom framework-res, and want soemthing different you would have to upload yours and let me know what you have in mind. Font can be easily changed with fontchanger, just change clocktopia, I can up load th HCfont if you cant find it.
I have 1.9.1. How did u get the dell logo as wallpaper. I will have to gobto uot cause I have a custom framework.

It's prob just a standard wallpaper, you can prob just rip it right out of the package and just select it like any other wallpaper
Edit: actually it's not included, you could ask him to post the orig if you wanna use it
found it buried in google images
here you go:
Wallpaper cropped for portrait. More here

I tried UOT kitchen, but the lockscreen tweaks seems to change only the sliders , cant get the others to work
are u able to do it?
what are you trying to change the circle icons inside the jog tabs? choose lockscreen icons in kitchen.. but there is only about 4 currently.
have you tried to theme the Stock Sms app?
having a nice dark blue Honeycomb like theme would be pretty nice.
sure I'll try messaging, I didn't think anyone used stock messaging

Thanks! What else can you theme then? It would be cool to be able to mess with Google Voice messaging and Google Talk... Theme it in color sets.
The UOT is so nice to use, but I'm not sure how you are doing the system files. I know that there is some write ups re setting Phone and Contacts.apk as transparent. Haven't gotten that to work on Streak 5 yet though. Seems to be Nexus specific.
after messing with white menu text all day, no luck.. long story, anyways next I will do a HC Messaging app and try to update my HC Framework.
I dont use Google Voice or GTalk much, so not likely from me.

[Q] How to make the theme change automatically?

I noticed that there are 7 colored sony themes in my st15. is there any tool or app available to make these cycle daily so that each day has a different color?
I'm using sony's home screen on the latest fw unrooted.
thanks
is this possible??
maybe possible with some script but no one will ever waste their time on making such scripts.
im looking forward to this idea, its fascinating.
not very helpful reply metalrawk
not sure about themes yet, but the default wallapers are located in /system/etc/customization/content/com/sonyericsson/wallpaperpicker/wallpapers.
there is an app called "wallpaper changer" by j4velin that can automatically cycle wallpapers from a file which i'm about to try out.
If anyone has any suggestions or knowledge regarding the built in theme manager though it would be nice to know if there could be an elegant way of automatically controlling it... i got the idea from an old psp where the theme changed every month or so.
thanks for any ideas,

[Q] Automatic Theme Switcher?

Does anyone one know if there is an app out there that can automatically switch your launcher theme every X hours? I currently am running Bionix-V 1.3.1 Fishman mod (Final 2) and use Go Launcher EX. I have several themes for the launcher, but I also use Zedge to update the wallpaper every hour for some variety. However, when the wallpaper changes, it may not match the theme, so I end up applying a new Go theme (which also applies the wallpaper for that particular theme), then I have to go back into zedge and re-apply the wallpaper from zedge. I know -- it doesn't really make any sense, but I get tired of staring at the same theme/wallpaper. If there is an app (it might have to be launcher-specific) that allows the themes to rotate automatically, I would probably stop using zedge altogether.
Anyone?
Apparently I am the lone Android user among the millions worldwide that cares about automatically switching themes. How sad.
Not at all. It's just that, as far as I can tell and have seen, such a thing doesn't exist. You would need either a plugin for an existing launcher, or such a thing built into the launcher itself. Your best bet is to contact the developers of each launcher with the suggestion. It's a good idea and I'm sure at least one of the developers would give it a shot.
Thanks
Thanks, Johnny. In a way, I was kind of hoping I was just bad at searching.

Need help icons,notification bar

As to the icons... I don't know if it'll be the same on ICS but here's what I did to pull some ADW icons into Rosie.
Thanks to rileyd5 for instruction to remove text which is how I found out I could change the icons in the same place.
You need Folder Organizer to do it this way.
Then press and hold on your homescreen and select widget.
Select FO Item - Folder Organizer
Choose Apps
Then find the one you want to change the icon of and press on icon.
Then go find the icon you want to change that one to.
Tap on the app and it will be on your desktop. Now you have to replace the one that's already there if there is one.
Unfortunately you have to do one at a time and even if you already have an icon for an app you have to make a new one and replace it, you can't just modify one that's already there.
I'm sure there must be an easier way...

There's a much easier way....visit the Themes section where some great people have painstakingly created icon sets and themes that have a wide variety of looks and functionality.
On the icon replacement there are a ton of apps out there. I suggest desktop visualizer only because there are a million and one icon packs already built for it.
Don't forget UOT Kitchen.

Yeah, I spent HOURS searching through themes one night and the ADW DigitalSoul icons are the ones for me. But I have to have the sense clock I'm using. I did grab desktop visualizer a while ago and never really looked through it... I'll check it out.
Anyway... Don't want to make this thread about me. Well actually I do, but...

It's a fun/good topic to have an open discussion about who uses what and to what benefit it is. I themed as much as I can without tearing apart market apps so that their in app fonts match what I want.

If you don't mind switching ROMs, this is what I did (and I'd suggest this ROM anyway since it's so smooth) in order to get the AOSP notification bar at the top. You can find the thread here where I detailed instructions. Essentially, though, I used Joelz ICS Sense Redefined. I then pushed the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk from his Senseless ROM. It works perfectly. I now have a Sense ROM that looks like Senseless. And I did get confirmation from him that it won't break anything since they both use the same framework and System base.
