If I navigate to a folder with videos and click the video I get the pop up to use video but I don't have an icon for it in my app drawer. Am I just missing somehting?

I believe unless you install a 3td party video player videos are played through the Gallery.
Is that what you mean? You're looking for your Video Player among your apps?

Correct, there is a video app because I see it in Titanium and when I click a video it gives me the option to pick the video app.
It's just more cluttered to pick the galary to try and find videos. When I would click the video app on my S3 it would just show videos and not all the photos with them.
I see it now. I can go into galary and select the video filter. I didn't notice that before. Thanks

Hello all,
I would like play videos using the Youtube app and to save the video (automaticity)in my phone (Galaxy s 9000),so in the next time I will play the video the file will load from temp (It's will save me bandwidth and time).
Thanks.
Search "Youtube Downloader" on Google Play.
I don't think you'll be able to play the downloaded videos through the youtube app though. Is there any specific reason why you want to view the video only within the youtube app?

Hi Folks,
This is really got me
I've come from a HTC M7 to a Oneplus 3. The in-browser video on the HTC M7 was great - you were able to control brightness, control the sound and search through the video all via screen gestures. Since moving to the OP3 it has a standard video player that has none of those features. You have to use the old school controls of the video menu bar - there's no gesture control.
I've downloaded MX and VLC but they're only good as standalone players - to play stored content.
It loads the same player on both browsers, Chrome and Dolphin... and it loads the same video player on the HTC :good: and the same player on the OP3
I've tried resetting default apps. I've looked in the App settings but I can't work what app it is that's streams within the browser? Is it part of the OS?
Thank you in advance!
The only thing I've found on this... If you're watching in Firefox, you can tap on the video and it gives you the option to watch it on MX Player... but there's no way to set this as a default?

There's no stock video player listed under apps, well there is, but that's for stand alone saved videos. I got in touch with Oneplus today and they said there's no option to choose within the browser... The guy said that I should suggest it for an update, which I did.
Firefox does let you press on the video and choose to open it in MX, but there's no way to set that as a default... Has to be done each time - bit of a pain.

Tried that too and it didn't work. Thanks for your replies :good:
I'm going to try another ROM (Resurrection) for now anyway, hopefully there won't be an issue :good:
I can no longer find the Samsung Video Player yet when I go to the Galaxy App store it shows the app as installed. What must I do to find or reinstall the app?

Wrong forum for your question but........
If you see Video Player as installed in the Galaxy App store then it probably is even though you don't see the app in your app drawer. If you have a video on your phone, open the file & Video Player will play it.
If you want the app in your app drawer it's actually a seperate app. 3 ways of downloading. While playing a file click on the 3 dots & click on download video app, or go to about for Video Player, or go to the Google Play store & download Samsung Video Library.
I don't even bother with it, one less app installed in my phone. I just use the Gallery app to catalogue my videos.

Apologies for posting in the wrong thread. Yet I don't want to post it again and start from scratch. I tried your advice and I think that's where the problem is...
This is so weird. Is it possible to move this entire thread to the correct location?
That's strange, looks like you do have Video Library installed, I'm not sure then. Maybe it got hidden by accident? Go to app drawer, click on 3 dots then settings then hide apps & see if the apps are hidden? Or maybe try to uninstall Samsung Video Library then reinstall?

Try to download it in sammobile.
My use case: The tablet will mostly be idle, sitting on a table. I may pick up the tablet to show someone a video. ONLY when I pick up the tablet to show the video, I want to record a "reaction video" via the "selfie" camera.
What I don't want is an hour or two of video that's shooting nothing.
Are there any apps that are good for this?
Bump? Any ideas?
Starting with Android Nougat you can launch 2 apps at once: In the outlined scenario both the videoplayer and the camera app.

Would that require a split-screen? I want to have a full-screen video player, with a video-camera app "invisible".
I'm not sure if there's a video-camera app that can do that, in addition to only recording when I'm showing a video.
Basically, I think I want to "pin" the video player app, so I can open that with a button-press, and also have that (or motion detection? or something else?) start the video-camera recording.

To achieve this I guess you've to create such an app at your own.
