Hey everybody! I'm planning to buy this phone because my old phone got stolen: (,
So I wanted to ask how your performance with this phone is. Do you have any lag issues on gaming? Is it any better with CM11?
Thanks a lot!!
Which version? The 769 can be impossible to unlock
Sent from my LGMS769 using XDA Free mobile app
Very true, depends on what version I apparently got lucky with p769 and unlocked BL. But as far as gaming goes even at stock the phone runs most games smoothly. NFS most wanted no lag no problems with minecraft or any other games I've played. Good dual core processing phone. Strongly suggest killing the bloatware though to save your ram.
Oh, what a shame that we can't unlock the bootloader of the 769.
Anyways thanks. This phone will be the 1st option

Hi, at this moment I have the SGS2 but want to buy the SGS3.
On my SGS2 I can open about 10 apps. and 2 Gameloft games like Shadowgun and NOVA3 at the same time. The phone is still smooth and no apps are closed. Now I tried the same on 3 different SGS3 and it is not possible to do the same as I did on my SGS2. When I open NOVA3 and an internetpage NOVA3 will be closed and visa versa!!!.
Is this normal? Anything to do with RAM or is there a problem with the SGS3?
Important is that I want to keep the SGS3 original, stock.
Thanks for any reply.
This is normal on stock.
Blame touchwiz. It can be fixed with root/custom rom.

How can this be normal? What is the reason for that? You cannot call this multitasking can you?
The s3 smokes pretty much all phones out there. The s2 is no comparison at all. Just for arguments sake. Why would you have 2 high end games open at the same time?
Multi tasking on the s3 is superb. Running fox hound the phone is faster than anything I've ever used before.
There's no comparison here
Ps: I have about 14 things open in the task manager right now. That is multi tasking

Multitasking is fine on S3. Don't look at a specific game or app,**** can happen due to that app not being supported so good on the S3.
Hardwarewise the device is more than ready to multitask for you.I do feel the current custom rom i use is better than stock when multitasking, but it was more than ok on stock also.
Hi everyone!
I' m about to buy a used atrix 4g and I want some advice.
Should I buy this phone or is it too old and I shall look something else (like a sony xperia sole)?
Are there any good Jelly Bean roms to flash?
What about the user experience? Is it good at playing games and multitasking?
Please give me some info about this phone!!
Thanks in advance,
Petros.
It's stuck on GB and current JB or ICS roms are marginal.
I would say it depends on what price you're getting it for and how badly you need/want ICS or JB

First of all, thank you for your reply!
I don't want to use GB, I want a good JB rom to flash. Is there any?
I am going to buy it at about 120 euros, while xperia sole costs at least 200 euros. Both dual core with a good GPU.
What do you mean "marginal"? They are not good? Not fast/stable? What about battery drain?
A 100% stable ICS/JB ROM for the Atrix does not exist. If you want decent stability for day-to-day usage, you are stuck with GB. (Personally, I wouldn't call it "stuck" since GB is working exceptionally well for me and I have no desire to switch anytime soon.) In fact, the ICS/JB on the Atrix situation is far more complicated than you probably think.
You might want to go over a few threads over at the dev section to get an idea.
Just fast and stable with working wifi camera and bt.
So you suggest me to look another device for running ICS/JB??
If running ICS/JB is really that important to you, then yes.
On current ICS/JB builds the wifi works, the bluetooth mostly works (depends on what you want to do with it), and the camera is kinda glitchy.
But are these roms smooth at working and fast?
It is pitty to see such a good device not having nice ics roms! A dual-core device with 1gb ram should be having fun running ics or jb..

Yes, for the most part. It really depends on what you do, and also who you ask.
I'm still on GB (I feel perfectly comfortable on it), so I cannot pass my own judgement or impressions.

I don't think there is a single person here who would disagree, but try telling Motorola that...
The atrix is a great phone, good hardware, only have a problem that is no oficial ICS or JB,but for me a CM 7 is great,no lags and very stable.
I'm ahardcore gamer and at the moment all the games run smooth,no lags. I already played dead triger, riptide GP,GTA III,shadows guns and other ''BIG'' games.

No i don't want to get another phone to run cm7. I used to have a nexus one about a year ago and it was running jb 4.1.1 flawlessly. so i don't want to go to gb. now i use an xperia x10 running 4.0.4 with the cam corder not working, and in general it is not very smooth.
so as you understand i don't want to buy a dual core phone to use gb. i am confused

Then the answer is simple - don't get the Atrix.
It might be a good option in some time, but not right now.
i understand.. i will try to find some more info and then decide.
thanks man for your interest
as a matter of fact i was wondering the same thing whether i should change from my atrix or just stick with it. I love my atrix. very good phone. i tried several different roms and i am running CM10 by emerson pinter now. it has been the best rom yet that i have found and am going to stick with this for a while until they come out with something new or an official JB rom. i have had no lag whatsoever and has not crashed not one time....knocking on wood now. the gaming is still great with the kernel for overclocking to 1300Mhz. And to beat all it was relatively easy...lol only problem is the camcorder doesnt work and there may be something else but i haven't found it yet. just read and read some more before you decide. hope this helps a little

If you want perfect and good JB rom There is none for Atrix. I would buy the LG Nexus 4 if I were you.

Hi guys. This is not a "best rom" thread. I'd like some advice please.
A couple of months ago I rooted my girlfriend's xpu because she complained it was slow. I sympathise because I have an s3 mini with similar chipset and roughly the same specs, yet even my original stock rom was faster and more efficient.
I tried jbexperience and freexperia cm9.1. Both aren't exactly what I expected.
She regularly uses Facebook, whatsapp, email and plays candy crush and jewel star. On cm9.1 her battery life is horrible even with greenify and the phone is unstable. The ram fills up very quickly and the phone frequently reboots. She also had problems with apps that use webcoreview force closing.
Now as you can probably tell, I'm a veteran rom flasher and have been doing it for a long time on various phones. My old wildfire buzz and my son's hero are rooted with custom roms and are generally smoother and more stable than the xperia u. They are old and the hardware is ancient.
So my question for you lovely, fair members of the xperia u group today is, can you please recommend a stable and battery friendly rom for the xperia u?
Please don't say "this rom is best" or "this thread is bad", etcetera..
I can't try them all as my girlfriend has far less patience for this than I do.
Thank you for your understanding and patience, and please be nice.

Gb-rocks and remove the bloatware you don't want. if your bootloader is unlocked then flash supercharged kernel too

Thank you. This looks more like the kind of thing I'm looking for. Gingerbread for a newer model, using less ram than ics crap. My gf will be happy with this although I'll probably need to modify play store to show more apps
Yes of course bootloader is unlocked
Is there a specific supercharged kernel you're talking of?
If there are any other roms you feel are worth mentioning please do Thanks again

Almost sure there is nothing faster than the Gingerbread version as just the core is going to take less resources.
Anyway for me the stock ICS 6.1.1.B.1,1.100 firmware works pretty well. For that one I just installed it, rooted, and removed some bloatware (just the ones that came with the ROM from the phone provider that released that firmware and an app that my own phone provider installs and some other apps I don't use like office suite and one or too more (some are apps you can even uninstall without root), but I removed nothing from Xperia apps). I didn't even installed anything else to enhance performance, no greenify not lag seeder and I'm pretty satisfied with performance. Facebook sometimes doesn't work as good as I would like to but in my opinion that's more a problem of facebook app which is a **** than a problem of the phone OS.
The last official release 6.1.1.B.1.1.54 firmware is horrible but that 6.1.1.B.1.1.100 works pretty well. I just tested only two more ICS ROMs and they didn't satisfied me more than the stock. I really prefer to continue with stock firmware and as It works really good for me that's what I choose.
By the way I don't think the game you mention is something to worry about. It is not one with a high resources requirement in my opinion. So it will work pretty well in any ROM with good enough performance.
Hey guys, i am reading this forum for ages, that is why i am going to ask my question here, because I know people here know everything about theese gagets
So I bought Lg l9 II in december and everything was well until some weeks when my phone startet to lag, especcially when I multitask more hard with lets say browser, messenger nd music, but that was not a problem before. To check if I am not wrong I downloaded antutu to see what is going on, as before that I checked some videos in Youtube to see what score are people with my phone recieving.I was thrilled, the normal score was around 15k and around 23-4 fps on the 3d test and i recieved 11k and 12 fps max.I am worrying why is this happening. Please help me,thank you in advance and excuse my english.I am curiously waiting for your answers!
I forgot to mention that imediately after buying i rooted the phone, but it started to lag, so i unroted it and it got fixed till the prblem i described up there

I updated to kitkat before some days, and it became worse, the good news are that i downloaded tinycore to see if the processor is bugged, and it seems that its always on full, and on jelly bean it was on 1/2 most of the times, but my ram is good 550 from 700, so i will be glad if smb help me to find why my proccesor is full all the time.Ty in advance and again sorry for my english

I am looking to buy a tablet and I found a 32gb version of the Tablet Z for $100. Is this tablet still worth buying?
I know it has better specs than some of the newer cheaper tablets but just want to see what people's experiences are. Thanks
I have one and use it all the time. For $100, I don't think you could go wrong. I use mine for studying, and watching YouTube mostly and will occasionally use chrome remote desktop to log in to my laptop at home. Have never had any issues with it that a reboot didn't clear up and I only reboot once ever few months. Hope this helps.

Why not just stick with stock? I've tried many custom ROMs during my "flashaholic" days - but have always ended up back at stock because :
most of the custom ROMs have issues
some apps won't work if your tablet is rooted
Still enjoying my Tablet Z after 4 years of ownership :good:
I can't justify buying something newer.
Why root?
I have to agree with Greta, I see no reason to root. Everything just works as is with no problems. From the research I did about rooting this particular device, there just wasn't enough of a gain by doing so. Hope you enjoy it.

Nougat is really nice on this tablet. I recommend the LineageOS rom from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-tablet-z/general/rom-cyanogenmod-14-t3496758
I have no issues and with it and it's fast, I also get insane battery life with standby being especially is impressive.

Glad to hear it is working out well for you. I dropped mine anout a month ago and it is toast. I took it apart and tried selling stuff like the camera and ports online but nobody wanted them. I hate seeing things go to waste and was practically giving them away. Did you get a dock with yours? I have one of those, too. May try to ebay it along with the spare parts and the smart cover.

I'm also thinking of buying an used SGP311 and running the latest LineageOS on it. Does anyone with SGP311 have problems playing Clash Royale?
I have a Samsung SM-T320 running Kitkat 4.4.2 with Clash Royale and no problems. If I try SlimKat 4.4.4, LineageOS 13/14, CM 11/12, etc they ALL crash/reboot with Clash Royale. Only stock works with Clash Royale on the SM-T320.
The SGP311 uses Adreno 320 GPU and the SM-320 uses the Adreno 330 GPU. I'm just worried that whatever problem in Slimrom, LineageOS, CM, etc that causes Clash Royale to crash/reboot tablet might be related to the Adreno GPU drivers/code.
If you're into streaming services there is a thing that you should know: The Xperia Tablet Z has Google Widevine L3 DRM, that means that Netflix will NOT play HD movies, even with the most expensive subscription. Netflix needs Widevine L1, which you dont get with this device, even with an up-to-date OS installed. I dont know how this is with Amazon Prime.
EDIT: The SoC of this tablet does not suppert 60fps video streaming. This means that YouTube videos with 60 fps have a lot of stuttering. 60fps Twitch streams dont play the video at all, you can only hear the audio.

As far as i remember Google Widevine DRM was ported to custom firmwares based on android 7.1.2 and probably 8.1. You'd better check them.
