Rooting

Is there any way to root my x10 whitout my pc and z4 dont work for me sorry if this sounds noob but last time I rooted was like 4months ago

You need a computer to root. Try the latest flashtool, it's the most reliable in my opinion.
No internet connection

Possibly go somewhere with internet connection and transfer it on a flash drive. Otherwise looks like your stuck =(

How did you post this if you had no internet connection?
Yeah you could use your data connection to dl it and the transfer to your PC. Not sure how big the flashtool is though and if you have enough data to do it.

[REQ] app that makes portable hotspot for wifi

im wondering if theres an app that can make a portable wifi hotspot FOR THE WIFI U ARE CONNECTED TO.
I know I have portable wifi hotspot on my note 2, but its only for mobile data not for wifi.
Why not just connect to the router itself?

In moments such as where you don't want to give your routers password for a stranger for a temporary purpose..
I also need this...
I don't think there's an app that can do this. If you use the wifi radio to connect to a router, you can't use it at the same time to create an hotspot. I'm quite sure of that. Sorry for my bad english guys

I'm so torn!!! Black dot!

What is the little black dot on the top of the bezel next to the headphone jack? I can not figure it out for the life of me.

And I'm not talking about the mic, I'm talking about the bigger one above the front cam, on the bezel.

For real? Like a TV remote? I came from a Maxx HD. I'm still learning everything about this phone.

Yes it can be used as a universal remote.
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.
That's pretty sweet! Any other gems I need to know about aside from the air gestures?

I personally love the voice commands. You can say "Snooze" when the alarm goes off and it'll snooze. If someone calls, you can just say "Answer" and it'll put it right on speakerphone. If you're in the camera, you can just say "Cheese" or "Shoot" and not have to hit the screen and cause a blurry shot.

The S4 has has a built in thermometer... There are apps in the market that work with it...or you can use the app called S Health on your phone. With the latest 4.3 update you can now use the Galaxy Gear.

How?
It comes like that out of box. Just say OK google from the home screen

Ah it's from the search widget. There is a way to hack svoice always listening so it launches Google now when screen is off

I can't get s-voice to recognize my start command. Screen on, off, nada. Does yours work?

I saw that out of the box, but when I switched launchers and put the search widget back on it seems you lose the hotword detection. Can anyone confirm? I'm guessing they built it into TW ala GEL

Control my phone

Dear XDA,
I hope I placed this in the right section. I broke my note 2 a day ago and still have some valuable information on it.
Is there any way to get control of my phone through my computer?
Greetings,
Daniel

The phone is still being recognized. The problem is, there is data on there which I can't get to through MTP. There are no drives when I click on the phone itself.
Well, there's several apps out there that let you control the device from a pc, problem is that you'll need to get these apps installed and setup for use, I'd imagine it'd be kinda hard for a device with no screen functionality.
