I have a SII i777. I have been testing roms on the phone sense I bought it. I was testing C-ROM for Galaxy S2! [Android 4.4.4/Floating Multi-Window]. I was letting my phone charge. When I went to check the time I noticed it was in a boot loop. I booted into recovery formatted the normal stuff still boot loop. I ran Mr-Cook script rom whip, kernel whip reapplied the rom then the Gapp and then the shift kernel. Still boot loop. Please help i must be over looking something.
I suggest installing one thing at a time to isolate the point of bootloop.
Install i777-omni/slim/shostock (no gapps, no custom kernel).
-if bootloop, flash stock distribution as final test (a weak/damaged battery can cause a bootloop)
-if no bootloop, then wipe again and add gapps, but still no custom kernel
-if no bootloop, then add custom kernel
-etc.

Hi all,
Today I wiped all data and cache from my device and installed VillainROM from CWM Recovery Manager. Install looked fine it said that it finished, so I went to reboot.
The device was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S II logo with the yellow triangle (!) for around 10 minutes. I then turned it off cause I realized it wasn't going to boot.
Anyone have any idea why this happened? I restored a backup of my previous ROM and my phone booted up real fast and it was fine.
Could just be a bad download?

Try flash it again before it boots. IE: Flash from zip, then go back and falsh from zip again.
I've had to do that with CM...
OK will try that, cause the same thing happened to me when I installed Cyanogenmod straight from Rom Manager. Thx
Update: No go, I also made sure Deluxe Settings was uninstalled before I went into recovery. It's stuck at the boot screen.
However, upgrading my previous ROM (WanamLite v4.0) to WanamLite 5.2 worked fine and the device booted. It was exactly the same procedure in recovery mode but a different ZIP file.
Will try another ROM like LiteningRom and see if anything changes. I don't think it's a CRC error because I open up the files before I copy to the device to see if WinRAR pops any CRC errors.
I'd start on the thread a few up from yours.... the one that mentions if you have a boot loop
Sorry, I didn't realize it was a boot loop because it wasn't actually looping, just stuck on the image. Is that considered a boot loop?
Hey guys!
Since I tried building Firefox OS -Boot2Gecko- on my Samsung Galaxy S2 (i9100) (FYI: I followed this walkthrough) , I'm having quite a hard time making my phone boot on any ROM I try to install. I still have an access to CWM Recovery and to the Download mode
* After failing to flash B2G's Gaia on my phone, I tried to flash the kernel back to the original one and to restore the CM 10.1 NIGHTLY backup I made before doing all this mess. No changes: stuck at CM's boot screen.
* Tried to get back to a stock firmware and ROM, stucks at boot screen ("Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100" screen), even after a wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache.
(In fact, I achieved to boot on a stock ROM once, but after some other manipulations to get my CM 10.1 back, I now can't get it to boot on any of them anymore.)
* I tried to follow the rooting + CyanogenMod walkthrough on CM's wiki, but the same happens: stucks on boot screen. However, after a wipe data, I reach CM's boot animation, which runs indefinitely.
* Right now I tried flashing with Siyah's Kernel, since the flash counter is not any of my concerns anymore. Whatever I try, I can't get anything to get past the "Booting the primary ROM" message.
However, I installed a stable CM9 on the secondary ROM and... it actually works. But even when cloning 2nd ROM to the 1st ROM, can't get the first to boot anyway.
I am not an expert in Android OS architecture, but could it be related to some kind of modifications made by B2G's build & flashing? Maybe some files in the /data or /system partitions have been altered and are not replaced when fllashing, leading to ROMs not loading up?
Any advice on this is welcome.
PS: English is not my main language, sorry if things aren't explained clearly. Tell me if you need any clarifications about it!
hey there,
i have a similiar problem.
i got the info to reflash it using ODIN.
one user told me, that maybe the NAND-RW could be corrupted....
so iam trying it right now...
good luck
Wipe kernel/rom data with a cleaning script. You can find them in dev sections.
Well I flashed it many times with Odin (or Heimdall when I was on Linux) and I saw no improvement.
I don't think my NAND-RW is corrupted, as I can still boot on Download or Recovery mode.
Just found this tutorial, is it worth the try?

This one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363738 (Kernel) and this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2100558&highlight=script (ROM) ?
Ok so I tried the cleaning scripts I linked on my previous message, no changes. I can still boot on Siyah's second ROM, but can't get past the "Booting primary ROM" message.
Ideas anyone?
So i think i soft bricked my phone when i went to update from jellybam 6.4.0 to 6.6.0. I was using Jellybam 6.4.0 with Ajk 1.24b kernel. Went to flash Jellybam 6.6.0 then ran into problems. First when i selected the zip to flash it gave me the Assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device"). So i went to just reboot the phone and it hangs up on the AJK boot image. I then did a factory reset and tried reflashing the Kernel but it hangs on the Boot still. I can get into recovery and download just fine but can't boot up the phone. So any advice or am i looking at an odin/heimdall trip back to stock.
You don't have a ROM installed, that's why your phone won't boot: just flash a new one.

The problem is all fixed now. The kernel was the hang up but not sure why. It wouldnt let me flash the new ROM or a backup of the old ROM. Had to put the stock kernel back on the phone through recovery then flash the backup. When i did the update process again all went well.
Was running Alliance 26 for a long time but Chrome was weird and slow so I figured I'd try out Alliance 27. Flashed Alliance 27 through TWRP recovery and got stuck at the logo. Figured my TWRP might be old so I upgraded from 2.6 to 2.8 and retried the ROM install... still stuck at logo. Then I thought it might be a kernel issue and flashed AGNi's pureSTOCK... still hangs on boot logo. I then tried several different ROMS, LiquidSmooth, DN3, etc. all flash fine but never get past the logo screen.
Anyone have any ideas where to go next?
I got DN3 5.2 to load finally, but it says that my sim card isn't inserted. I don't think my phone is registering as an I605 for some reason. Phone status lists it as something else... an S5 maybe? I'm confused.
[EDIT] Yeah. DN3 is saying my phone is a SM-G900F... Samsung Galaxy 5. Still says missing sim card.

Hi, quite a few of us are having this same problem. It appears to be several things; I.e. earlier bootloader unlock method and twrp. Try this method: install philz latest recovery. Format for a new install, flash rom. Immediately after (don't reboot) flash agni kernel. note: if it shows the kernel successfully flashed, your good. After, simply reboot and all should boot correctly. As an fyi, if you boot the rom and don't flash the kernel, it will not work. You must reformat and do the sequence above.

Hello all, I recently had a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100, I installed CM11 on it, but It had some bugs, and I bought Galaxy Alpha, so I wanted to give it to my mother, but since she is used to TouchWiz phones, I installed 4.1.2 JB ROM, but device is stuck on boot loop because flash failed? I want to get into recovery, but I have a bit of problem..... , I dropped my phone 4 weeks before this happened, and I replaced shattered screen, but unfortunately I lost power button, and that metal plate is destroyed by pencil I used to lock the device, now I can't boot into recovery, tired combo with download mode reset and vol up + home button, nothing, just samsung logo and boot loop continues, so I tried with adb, but devices recovery is not supported, because I flashed CMR 6.0.5 (that is newest version for GT-I9100) but black screen on boot appeared, so I finally flashed stock rom for the last time 5 hrs ago and nothing, evrything is stock and chache memory also dalvik chache is not deleted, so how can I delete that so I can finally turn device on and set it up? Im not pro\ with Android, just enthusiast so I am mad on myself for doing that, I do not want to waste working device, just how can I delete chache, or can I even fix the phone??

You will have to flash a kernel or recovery that is compatible with stock 4.1.2. Use apolo kernel 4.15 or dorimanx 8.44 v004 and see if it boots up. Look at my create kernel tar from zip guide for pre-made odin kernels.
