Was running Alliance 26 for a long time but Chrome was weird and slow so I figured I'd try out Alliance 27. Flashed Alliance 27 through TWRP recovery and got stuck at the logo. Figured my TWRP might be old so I upgraded from 2.6 to 2.8 and retried the ROM install... still stuck at logo. Then I thought it might be a kernel issue and flashed AGNi's pureSTOCK... still hangs on boot logo. I then tried several different ROMS, LiquidSmooth, DN3, etc. all flash fine but never get past the logo screen.
Anyone have any ideas where to go next?
I got DN3 5.2 to load finally, but it says that my sim card isn't inserted. I don't think my phone is registering as an I605 for some reason. Phone status lists it as something else... an S5 maybe? I'm confused.
[EDIT] Yeah. DN3 is saying my phone is a SM-G900F... Samsung Galaxy 5. Still says missing sim card.

Hi, quite a few of us are having this same problem. It appears to be several things; I.e. earlier bootloader unlock method and twrp. Try this method: install philz latest recovery. Format for a new install, flash rom. Immediately after (don't reboot) flash agni kernel. note: if it shows the kernel successfully flashed, your good. After, simply reboot and all should boot correctly. As an fyi, if you boot the rom and don't flash the kernel, it will not work. You must reformat and do the sequence above.

Hi all,
Today I wiped all data and cache from my device and installed VillainROM from CWM Recovery Manager. Install looked fine it said that it finished, so I went to reboot.
The device was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S II logo with the yellow triangle (!) for around 10 minutes. I then turned it off cause I realized it wasn't going to boot.
Anyone have any idea why this happened? I restored a backup of my previous ROM and my phone booted up real fast and it was fine.
Could just be a bad download?

Try flash it again before it boots. IE: Flash from zip, then go back and falsh from zip again.
I've had to do that with CM...
OK will try that, cause the same thing happened to me when I installed Cyanogenmod straight from Rom Manager. Thx
Update: No go, I also made sure Deluxe Settings was uninstalled before I went into recovery. It's stuck at the boot screen.
However, upgrading my previous ROM (WanamLite v4.0) to WanamLite 5.2 worked fine and the device booted. It was exactly the same procedure in recovery mode but a different ZIP file.
Will try another ROM like LiteningRom and see if anything changes. I don't think it's a CRC error because I open up the files before I copy to the device to see if WinRAR pops any CRC errors.
I'd start on the thread a few up from yours.... the one that mentions if you have a boot loop
Sorry, I didn't realize it was a boot loop because it wasn't actually looping, just stuck on the image. Is that considered a boot loop?
Hello.
After running for months cm7 old baseband with no prob, today i decided to try cm9.
So i grabbed my copy of Arjen cm9, latest nightly, gapps, installed it. Then upgraded to new baseband 20G using LGMDP.
The phone booted, all fine, but there was no network. So i tryed reinstalling the new baseband, same story. The third time i reinstalled the new baseband, phone booted with stock lg gingerbread. So i reinstalled arjen cm9, but phone remained stuck at boot animation at the firts rebooot before installing google aps.
Then i decided to restart the process once again and redoing root, recovery etc. These are the step i took:
1) used KDV to reinstall lg stock ginger with 20G baseband.
2)rooted from gingerbread, installed rom manager, installed CWM.
3) reboot in CWM, wiped all, formatted with ext size 256mb and swap size 64mb.
4) copied rom and gapps, wiped everything another time.
5) installed arjen cm9, re booted, again stuck at boot animation.
6) re formatted, re wiped, tryed another rom ([2012.6.5] MIUI PORT by DHK).
7)rebooted, again stuck at boot animation.
No matter how many time i reboot or how many CM9 version i try, after the new baseband upgrade only the lg stock gingerbread seems to boot without remain stuck at boot animation.
Please help me with this new baseband/ cm9 thing, because i seem the only one that doesn't get it!
EDIT: now after 30 min stuck at miui boot animation, i rebooted the phone and this time it started the cm9 logo, then an icon of battery charging appeared in at the center of the screen and then phone dead! What the hell is happening guys? This is driving me mad, lost the the entire morning and until now trying to get this working.

What do you see when you're booting your phone?
Fastboot Mode? Stuck at LG logo?

I have a SII i777. I have been testing roms on the phone sense I bought it. I was testing C-ROM for Galaxy S2! [Android 4.4.4/Floating Multi-Window]. I was letting my phone charge. When I went to check the time I noticed it was in a boot loop. I booted into recovery formatted the normal stuff still boot loop. I ran Mr-Cook script rom whip, kernel whip reapplied the rom then the Gapp and then the shift kernel. Still boot loop. Please help i must be over looking something.
I suggest installing one thing at a time to isolate the point of bootloop.
Install i777-omni/slim/shostock (no gapps, no custom kernel).
-if bootloop, flash stock distribution as final test (a weak/damaged battery can cause a bootloop)
-if no bootloop, then wipe again and add gapps, but still no custom kernel
-if no bootloop, then add custom kernel
-etc.

Just got my S4 in the mail today and the first thing I did was go looking for a Rom.
I rooted with towelroot and then installed Safestrap. My first flash was Slimkat but all it did was boot to a black screen. I went back to recovery and did a factory reset. Still black screen.
I re-booted to recovery and installed Google Play Edition. That got stuck on the boot logo for about 5 minutes. Went back to recovery and did a factory resit, still stuck on boot logo.
Next I installed Hyperdrive. stuck in bootloop for 15 minutes before I gave up and Odin'ed back to stock. any suggestion why I'm failing at installing custom roms?

Are you installing to the stock slot?
Yes. I have gotten the impression that you can ONLY install to the stock slot.

Assuming you are using Safestrap correctly.... check your downloads.
Also, slimkat is not compatible with your phone unless you are on mdk which I doubt. There is a process by which you can get the GPE ROM to run on our device if you aren't on mdk but I suspect all you did was flash the zip. We can't use AOSP Roms and if your going by the list of Roms in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297370 you will find most of them to be incompatible. There is no reason that Hyperdrive would get stuck in a bootloop unless there were something wrong with the install or your download.

That usually helps ; )
I have an unlocked AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 and have been trying to use SafeStrap to flash new ROMs. Everything goes like normal, ROM looks to be successfully installed. But I have tried to flash three different ROMs that are compatible with SafeStrap and my device, and each of them get stuck in an endless splash screen (I waited more than 20 minutes.) I did not mess with the stock ROM slot, so that is still intact. This is really frustrating, has anyone else encountered this problem? I've already tried factory resets and data wipes on the ROM slot, and also have deleted and re-partitioned the slot twice. As suggested online, I was flashing three zip at once: the ROM, kernel, and superuser.
