[Q] Accelerometer issue constantly flipped? - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Hi everyone,
I am experiencing funny accelerometer issue with autorotation ON.
When I keep my phone straight it flips screen to the left. When I rotate the phone it flips again. Only the home screen works good.
The same is with the games - if I am playing every thing goes to the left because it thinks that the phone is flipped.
I do not know if this could be the issu with the spirit rom but on CM11 there is the same issue and with this rom's there are no calibration tools.
It looks like the start position for the accelerometer is flipped left.
When I test accelerometer with moving the phone up and down it looks like working left and right like the axies being changed.
Do you have any ideas, how could I approach this issue to fix it?
It is just not possible to use autorotation now.
Best regards to you all.

Have the same problem
Yea, it depends on which ROM you installed. Some work some don't. Been looking around, but not much activity for MEGA. Looks like everybody is loosing interest for this phone. I just got mine and love it, have the same problem with screen and camera. Has to do with what it thinks north is.

Auto-rotate on home screen stopped working

Hi All,
Picked up a new SGT 10.1 today on the Staples deal. Well, actually two, the first suffered badly from the dust under screen issue and I returned it, cleaned out two stores in the process.
Trouble is, after the first time I engaged the orientation lock (literally the first time I locked the orientation), it no longer auto rotates when on the home screen. Worked fine for a couple hours prior to that. When I go to the camera app, it rotates (although lags sometimes, but can't tell the cause).
I've tried hard resetting multiple times with two different methods, made no difference. Searched around, found only one other person describing the problem and no solution.
Has anyone heard of this? Is there any app I can use to further test the sensor?
Thanks all!!
Try using a game that uses the sensors for movement. That should tell you pretty quickly if it's your sensors or some other software glitch.

[Sharing] Experience with broken GSIII

Hi all,
Just wanted to share my experience with my recently bought Samsung Galaxy SIII. As it turns out, my GSIII was kind of DOA. As soon as it arrived and I tried it, I realized there was something wrong with the gyroscope. Whenever I was looking at a photo, it would flip back and forth between portrait and landscape.
I didn't pay much attention to this and flashed the latest official JellyBean. All was well until I actually wanted to use the gyroscope and realized it simply wasn't working at all. I tried recalibrating to no luck, went back to ICS also with no luck, and using the service menu (*#0*#) gave me very strange values for the gyro sensor.
Today I brought the phone in to an official Samsung repair shop and after trying the same as me, they took it in for RMA. Not sure if anyone else's had the same (trust me, I searched the hell out of the Internet) but just wanted to share in case other people experience the same. Ultimately, *#0*# is your friend in these circumstances.
Cheers,
Espinha
I have problem about the gyroscope too but not that bad as you have. when I re-calibrate it it will not re-calibrate. I tried some apps and through settings > display > gyroscope I can't set it to other angle than default.
I didn't mind this problem for this wasn't causing me trouble about the rotation of the phone.

Have you tried to go to *#0*# and have a look at the sensors page? Seems like one of your axis might be stuck... if it is, I would definitely get it in for repair.
That command gives me "connection problem or invalid MMI code". I don't really need repairs because the sensors work, it rotates when i turn the phone horizontally. It works for games that need sensors.
Just that I can't "re-calibrate" it.

Camera issue

Hey guys,
Sometimes when I launch my camera, it makes a loud buzzing noise and has trouble focusing. It seems like something is getting in the way of the lens not allowing it to move freely. If I shake really quickly it usually stops and works like it should. I don't know if it's a lens issue or am issue with the OIS. Has anyone else had this issue and if so have you found a solution? This is my second S6 Edge. The first one succumbed to the auto rotate bug. Thanks for your time.

I was facing the same issue from the past 3-4 days. It starts buzzing (not all the time, but frequent enough to get me mad) when you open the camera app, and might stop the buzing if you try to focus manually.
I went to Samsung service center yesterday, and they did confirm it was a fault camera hardware (don't know the much details yet). They ordered new camera hardware and expected delivery date by tomorrow.
Hoping, the new camera module be with out any issues.
To any one, i have been using the phone for the past ~2 months, and saw this issue occurring in the past 3-4 days. Is any one facing the same issue?
Maybe i will send an e-mail, and see whats happening with these Camera hardware...

Touchscreen issues

Hey guys,
I got my Redmi note 2 yesterday and I'm having trouble with the touchscreen. sometimes it seems to be perfectly fine and sometimes it doesn't react properly. It seems to be worse in the right half of the screen. Sometimes I start scrolling and it works fine in the beginning, then the screen stops detecting my finger and when it detects it again, it opens the thing that my finger is on instead of scrolling.
I'm not sure if this is a hardware of a software bug.
Would calibrating the screen help? If so, whats the best way to do that?
I would usually try flashing a clean stock rom (the one it came with has some bloatware anyway) and test if that resolves the issue, but that's probably not the best idea if I decide to return it.
thanks for your help

Try entering in the MTK Eng. Mode, then go to Hardware Testing->TouchScreen->HandWriting and try drawing some lines crossing the point where the problem occurs.
A friend of mine had a Nexus 5 with a malfunctioning touchscreen, doing a similar test we noticed that there was a full horizontal line where the touch were not detected so every vertical line we were trying to draw were broken on the point where the bad line were crossed.
Obviously in that case it was an hw fault.
EDIT:
Reading your post again, it seems a behavior caused by lag, so maybe it's a sw problem and not an hw one, especially for the fact that "it opens things instead of scrolling".
Does it always happen in the same point/area? Or is it totally random?

I already did that and the results are very inconsitent. When I first tried it, it started drawing a line as it should, then it stopped and started again half a centimeter later, then it stopped again, and it pretty much went like that from top to bottom of the screen (at least on the right side of the screen, the left side worked better).
When I did the same test again, it didn't even draw lines, it just highlighted a few single pixels along the way that my finger was traveling.
And currently everything works perfect and smooth as it should.
It does kind of feel like a software-thing, but in my mind (correct me if I'm wrong) that should affect the complete screen equally and it just doesn't. I tried pulling down the notification bar earlier, from the top right of the screen and it just didn't work. I did a few tries and nothing happened. Then I tried pulling it down from the top left and it worked fine.
As I said it works fine at the moment, but I guess I'll make a few screenshots and a video of the problem, when it occurs again.
Ok, so the problem came back and I was able to do some more testing and make a video (sorry about the shabby quality, but it'll have to do ).

As it turns out, the whole screen is affected equally, so I'm pretty confident that it's just the software but I'd still like to hear a second opinion.
The thing that kinda throws me off is that the reboot didn't help at all...
So what do you think? Is it just buggy software?
I'd try contacting the seller and explaining him the problem.
Maybe he will ask you to flash a new rom to be sure that it's a hardware problem and not something that could be solved without a replacement. That's what happened with my first phone from China.
If not, you could ask him and I think he will authorize you.

sounds like a good idea, I'll do that.

My LG G5 has ghost screen. What do I do?

Half side of my LG G5 glitches a lot.. Its like a ghost screen. When one side is live the other has a delay sometimes and the screen messes up in that part...I noticed it usually happens when the devices warms up. Or when watching any graphical thing like camera or videos. I looked up the problem... Some say I gotta warm up the cpu. I don't know If I wanna do that. I am assuming it's a display issue. Also I don't think it's a software problem because I tried mirroring the screen to my pc... It shows perfect but in device it ghosts.... Now If I change the display, will this issue get resolved? If not what do I do? Please tell me... Any details you can provide. :crying:
